Played poker with Yao Man at the California Grand Casino in Pacheco, CA tonight. Had a nice conversation with him. He said he was surprised that people still recognize him after all these years. Made my day!
I absolutely love Cagayan. It is what got me into Survivor and I was over the moon when Tony won both this and Winners at War. Love his gameplay- strategic but also energetic and entertaining as hell. And I do love Kass and Spencer and Trish and Woo and all the rest
To me it speaks volumes of the degree to which Cagayan is bottled lightning that it goes toe-to-toe with the season of stars surgically assembled in a laboratory to be incredible. It just WORKS no matter how much you know the game, there is something for everybody.
I have to give HvV and Cagayan equal props. HvV got me back into watching the show at the start of quarantine when I had watched pretty much everything before it in my childhood, and Cagayan was what got my partner watching with me. :)
I had this season ranked #5. I love this season as a whole, and there are quite a bit of blindsides this season that really help make it enjoyable. In the pre-merge, it's pretty interesting throughout especially with how bad the entire brains tribe is. I really didn't care for Lindsey and the Alexis boot was pretty obvious even though it was a blindside to Alexis herself. The J'Tia boot was also quite expected because we knew she wouldn't last that long. However, the rest of that pre-merge is very solid with the Garrett and Cliff blindsides. Once we hit the merge, everything with Tony is great television. Although he was quite sloppy this time around, Tony was still fantastic to watch, and the rest of the cast helped make it all the more enjoyable as well. Spencer and Tasha fought for every inch they could. The Sarah merge blindside is fantastic in itself along with the LJ and Jefra blindsides. Even the Trish blindside was absolutely fantastic. Even down to the end where Woo takes Tony over Kass to the final two is fantastic, and when you go into the jury speeches you sit there and start to think that Woo might have a decent shot with how the jury was addressing Tony until Spencer came along and set everything straight. Tony's win was very deserved, but also I didn't the Tyler Perry super idol and that lowers this season for me from the very very top. Overall, I still love this season, and it's a fantastic watch every time with a great cast and plenty of fantastic television moments. To highlight a few: Tony shouting top 5 baby, Tony snorting pizza, Tony's spy shack, Tony's overflowing bucket of mud, Tony talking llama, Woo's ninja stealth mode, Chaos Kass and her immunity challenge comeback, Spencer's comeback immunity win, and a lot more but you get the point. Not the absolute greatest season but definitely TOP 5 BABY!
Love this season it really showcases the vast number of strong competitors alongside great unexpected twists and turns just like my favorite season of BB. That being BB 16.
@Raheem Fielder-Bey sheesh you seem to be taking great offense to my opinion on BB16. You do realize that season has a ridiculous amount of statistically great competitors?
@Raheem Fielder-Bey so you are gonna throw Caleb , Zach, Donnie and Hayden out to the wolves as if they weren’t good c’mon now please. They all played incredibly well and lost to some of the best to ever do it. Caleb being the only one to get a chance to show his talents on a different show, which I think we all know that we want him to get a second shot at.
@Raheem Fielder-Bey Victoria, Pao Pao and Jocasta yes are terrible at the game but every season has floaters and Devin still did win an HOH, btw I forgot to add Amber she recently just won The Challenge proving herself to be a good competitor.
@Raheem Fielder-Bey I understand that but give the credit where it is do she was impressive and no where near in consideration for (worst players of all time).
@Raheem Fielder-Bey literally over half the cast is extremely impressive in many facets of the game. You fail to see how competitive it really was. It’s not the most strategic season of all time but I’d argue, BB 16 had 4 S Tier Caliber strategic players being all the ones you mentioned earlier.
Obviously Kass and Woo did not know what Tony's super idol did but at the final 6 if you want to flush the idol why not pile 4 votes on tony and then tony and Trish vote Tasha. Win win scenario. Tony either goes home or flushes the idol then Tasha would go home. Any outcome is good for them. Made no Sense
@@taitavrit664 If BvW and Philippines are "top ten" seasons, i'd hate to see what your "worst seasons" list includes. Both are very inoffensively middle of the road IMO. I think RI/Caramoan/One World/South Pacific are absolutely awful but all have their cute moments, every season (even seasons 38/39 and Thailand) have at least SOME redeeming qualities.
Great podcast but Jesus Rob was pretty salty about Tonys game here. No it wasn't perfect but a lot of Tonys " mistakes" were more to do with his social game not being flawless. I think a good majority of his many moves really hold up and every person that he wanted gone wound up being voted out. It may not be the third greatest game ever won, I have it at 5 under Tom Kim Rob and Tonys second win. But it is certainly better than tyson who took three times to win, and jeremy and todds wins where he had more more control. I suspect that heroes vs villains will push cagayan to four which is exactly where Rob had it the last time he ranked them.
My favorite hidden gem of this season is when Tony is yelling at Kass, not only is Kass keeping her same calm demeanor, she is stacking an impressively tall precarious tower of river rocks. It must’ve been INFURIATING. Me and my friends reference it all the time.
Spoiler alert I realized that there is foreshadowing in the first immunity challenge, Tony and woo were in the front of their cart. They happened to make it in the final two.
So I literally just got into survivor and I just finished season 28. But #2?!? With the exception of Spencer I thought the cast was boring. Woo was dull, Cass constantly turned and backstabbed her alliances and Tony with 3 immunity idols cakewalked to the finals. A decent season but I’m surprised it was ranked #2.

This comment section isn't gonna be the same without that one guy complaining about Pearl Islands still being in

As much as I love this season, I'm kind of relieved to see it here at #2. HvV is just a biblical season
To me it speaks volumes of the degree to which Cagayan is bottled lightning that it goes toe-to-toe with the season of stars surgically assembled in a laboratory to be incredible. It just WORKS no matter how much you know the game, there is something for everybody.
Looking at the top 5, Cagayan and China really had the best non returnees cast.
@exa I'm not praising one and not the other, I'm praising both. But to confirm, are you saying HvV is overrated because Russell didn't win?
Legendary season. The reason I got into survivor.
I have to give HvV and Cagayan equal props. HvV got me back into watching the show at the start of quarantine when I had watched pretty much everything before it in my childhood, and Cagayan was what got my partner watching with me. :)
I have Cagayan at number 1 personally. Pure entertainment from start to finish.
I completely agree. Cagayan is the best.

I love how the whole theme of this podcast episode is group chat.
i love how he’s saying they are chasing 3 tribe format and this was even before the new era 😭
Tony is the GOAT
This season saved survivor from death.
Philippines and Blood vs Water were amazing though
@@taitavrit664 agreed. Those were fantastic seasons
@@taitavrit664 Those seasons are decent, but part of why they work is because they follow such mediocre seasons.
@@spencerclark4726 They’re both top ten in my opinion. And this is coming from someone who liked Redemption Island, One World, and Caramoan

I liked beauty! It was a nice escape from the other tribes.
Completely unrelated but Pooya's beard is 🔥
I ❤️ Tony team tv!
Should of been #1
Naw. Heroes vs villains was going to be one
I agree. I would re watch Cagayan before heros vs villians.

38:08 lol as if Sarah didn't win an all returnee season in her second chance
Spoiler alert

That’s interesting. What seasons do you think are top ranked??
"just got into survivor"
Rob, you didn’t start this 39 weeks ago… remember you had to double up a couple times to finish :)
Honestly I think HvV is super overrated. I really don’t get why it’s number one. Not even in my top 20
You just hating now
@@gqprince2 Sorry but it’s just my opinion
Thank you . Heros vs villians is overrated.
I though Micronesia was more enjoyable. I also find Russell Hantz annoying so that could be part of it.
i've never agreed with three men talking to eachother for 5 hours more. rob is changing the world one pod at a time....
