Check out our featured song: "Signs" by Title Holder! ua-cam.com/video/cPdCZZX-CCU/v-deo.html
I can see Rebecca dancing like vanilla ice while she is narrating this top 10 video lol. It’s amazing about 60%?of the songs on this list are from overseas BUT it took a few years to get to the states.
Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus
This top is awesome. But, if you really respect the musicians, research how to say their names properly. There are even UA-cam videos on how to pronounce Gerardo.
Sex & Candy
Rebecca's taste for music is cheesy as well Mojo. 90's only knows sacredness!❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Imagine living in a world where the cheesiest songs of two decades back are still better than the hits of the day.
well, Most of them were not cheesy, As we know and as is a time proven fact,
MOJO DOESN'T KNOW JACK SHIT
i mean they said, most of us were introduced to hip hop through ice ice baby, i mean, that stupidity right there says it all
I am totally LOVING the "Imagine" on the front of very wise statements! 🥰
Oh so right!
My Taco Bell restaurant remodeled and put in a sound system that plays modern music. I hate it. It makes me eat fast and get out of there.
3 decades back since we are in the 2020's. I love spinning some of these up every once in awhile
This is what was so great about the '90s, even the "cheesy" songs are amazing
Agreed
that's very true
That's not unique to the 90s. It's just the last decade that popular cheesy songs being amazing is true. The way things are going, smartphone apps will replace people in cheesy music production and people will create CGI videos to post those on UA-cam with what song their app comes up with and the most viral ones get signed on by the music industry to do concerts via holograms and sound mixing. With the "band" (the guy whose phone's app made the music) interacting with the concert people from home via the internet, with the illusion the performing holograms are talking.
I mean, do you think that "Baby Baby" by Justin Beiber had any more human substance than a well-programmed smartphone app can do? I'm specifying smartphones because they are the "special education" children of computer technology and are the most common computers used now. I won't comment on why.
@@That80sGuy1972 seriously 😐
Facts
As someone who grew up in the 90s, I still love a number of these songs.
I was never a fan of hip-hop, but I gotta admit that "Jump," "Whoomp! There It Is" and "Baby Got Back" are solid gold.
How is Return of the Mack not on here? The epicness of that song transcends time and is still a hit today.
I guess because it isn’t considered cheesy? Personally, I don’t think of it as cheesy. Love that song though & somehow it never gets old to me.
I feel so lucky to have grown up in the 90’s! So many classic, damn good hits almost every year (never a dull party or skating night)! And many songs I’ll admit I still jam out to today.
The fact that someone compared Right Said Fred singing “I’m too Sexy” to Elmer Fudd on Steroids! That had me BAWLING in Laughter! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I'll never unhear it now
I actually have a old recording on my PC where someone covered the song AS Elmer Fudd, LOL. At the end he accidently fires his gun and then goes, "Oh oh!" and gives his trademark laugh. It's probably uploaded somewhere on UA-cam. I remember the line, "I'm too sexy for the wabbit, to sexy for the wabbit..." 😂😂🤣
If someone actually makes a video of that I would definitely see it!
😂😂😂😂😂@@tempest2fuu
My favorite is Mambo No. 5
by Lou Bega. Beat, Rhythm, Lyrics, fun rattling off all those girls names in Karaoke.
I literally was walking my dog last night when this song got in my head and I started singing all the names. Then thought, wtf? Why am I singing this?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂@@rachelkoiks
I was expecting the _NOW That's What I Call Music! Vol. 1_ tracklist.
Some of these tracks were on the NOW Album.
That came out in 83?
You stayed up way too late in the '90s
I was in target the other week and saw Now 80 on the shelf. I felt ancient 😬😔🥴😵
@@mamaraya8818 omg, I used to get those and the last one I have is now 21. I feel so old
Oh how I miss the 90s. Those were the best times ever. Can't we go back to then. Please!
I'll gladly go with you.
Ikr? We need a real life Doc Brown.
Lead the way...😅😅
I'm with you,I have a couple of personal things that need to be fixed while there.
I believe there is even a song about missing the 90s 😞😞😞
What a great era to be alive !
Every single song brings back one memory and it’s amazing!!!

Sir Mix-A-Lot was by no stretch of the imagination a “one hit wonder.”
I absolutely HATE Nicki Minaj’s redo of this, Anaconda!!! COME ON!! And Drake’s version of I’m Too Sexy is TERRIBLE!!!

Neither were Aqua, Vengaboys, or Haddaway
Buttermilk Biscuits!
I thought that “Good Vibrations” by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch would be on here. For sure!
No. You forgot the followup which was also Top 10: “Wildside”.
Now Marky Mark Wahlberg is an a list Hollywood star.
@@duncancurtis1758 if someone told me that back in 1991, I’d say they were full of it! He was such a wannabe thug!
@@kissfanmac I mean, if we're going by Watch Mojo's logic here, Good Vibrations fits better than some on this list. Venga Boys and Aqua had at least 2 other songs that 90s kids could name, with Aqua having 2 top 30 songs, but their first and/or biggest hit is what everyone immediately remembers. You say Marky Mark - NO one is gonna think Wildside.
@@Mystress1980 To be fair Good Vibrations and Wildside are the songs I think of when I hear Marky Mark

@G-Man 80 You got that absolutely right.
Amen brother Amen
Mumble rap/auto tune mumble singing crap will always be music for the low IQ
Thats the problem when you are always on the same playlist
Haha, was online gaming last week with friends and i got revived and started saying “i get knocked down, but i get up again! You’ll never gonna keep me down”, then we all started cracking up reminiscing on old songs…good times good times
Being a 90's baby, I am glad to had grown up while these were being made.
I never heard Mr. Vain before though, but man, now I need to.
You can find it on UA-cam
This WHOLE list took me back! To awkward parties that had the Macarena on an hourly rotation to school dances with euro dance tracks playing. ALL of these songs had a story to tell in my life... The memories.. THANK YOU!
As a guy who lived through the 90s I must concede, the list is actually pretty accurate. There may be one or two artists missing like KLF for instance, but then again, this is pretty much the 1990s. Respect.
Didn't KLF have more than one hit, so wouldn't be on a list of one hit wonders of the 90s?
KLF had “3 A.M. Eternal” and “Justified & Ancient” with Tammy Wynette.
do you know the meaning of one hit wonder? 😂😂😂
@@riderfkc2835 Yes...it's when a band has just 1 hit song and disappears. As has been shown above, KLF had at least 2 hit songs, so aren't a one hit wonder
@@riderfkc2835 I have no clue why you even asked him since he already knew. But this list has artists that have had at least one more Top 40 hit. So apparently this channel needs to do more research before they mention someone as a one hit wonder.
I don't see anythimg cheesy about these songs.
In 1995 I was in the US Navy stationed in Japan. I missed out on almost all music between the beginning 95 to the end of 97. Never heard of the Macarena until I came back to the states. It’s something I’m greatly thankful to the Navy for to this day. Also Baby got back was hilarious because almost all the women in that video have zero ass.
Be glad you were spared by the Macarena. It was EVERYWHERE....
I was in middle school when the Macarena came out. They pulled us out of classes TWICE to go to the gym to dance the Macarena. It was brutal.
Wow cruel and unusual punishment. Haha
Ha ha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Uuh Same. Worst part is my school, at least, made it mandatory that everyone do it.
Obviously your gym teacher had a fetish for the song..lol...hey it could've been worse! I had to do aerobics in junior high in p.e. to "I've had the time of my life' from dirty dancing..lol🤣👍
@@carlosfalcon2099 the worst part is that it was my English teacher who commandeered the gym, so it was like an ultra fetish 🤣
The great thing about the music of the '80s and '90s was it could be so unapologetically cheesy and be so great
We also had more VARIETY!!!! Too bad nowadays you can’t find too much variety.
My teenager loves songs from the 80's and 90's
Well here in the Netherlands Aqua itself had 4 hits, barbie girl, doctor jones, my oh my, turn back times. And Vengaboys itself had scored 9 hits here in the Netherlands in the top 40. With two numbers on 1 and three times even on number 2

I forgot how good Culture Beat’s “Mr. Vain” was.
@Mr. Decency Keepin' It Real It is a fantastic song. I occasionally listen to it myself, since I have it in my 90s Spotify playlist.
I was in Germany when it came out. We heard it at least three times everyday. 🙄😄
They're follow up "Got To Get It" was/is one of my favorite Euro Dance tracks.
Other cheesiest one hit wonders of the 90's did we missed:
Spin Doctors - Two Princes
Shawn Colvin - Sunny Came Home
Brooklyn Bounce - Get Ready to Bounce
Marc Cohn - Walking in Memphis
Eagle Eye Cherry - Save Tonight
Livin' Joy - Don't Stop Moving
Ini Kamozer - Here Comes the Hotstepper
Dionne Farris - I Know
Groove Theory - Tell Me
The Verve Pipe - The Freshmen
Big Mountain - Baby I Love Your Way
Jennifer Paige - Crush
etc.
Spin Doctors were not cheezy
Spin Doctors had 2 big hits iirc
Spin Doctors had “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” and “Two Princes”.
Everything But The Girl "Missing"
Let’s also not forget “Lucas With The Lid Off” Lucas, “Your Woman” Whitetown, How Bizarre” OMC.
Oh ! You’ve made me feel soooooooo old ! LOL Hadn’t heard of some of these songs as I’m not an American, but I remember dancing my butt off to them in my 20’s !
Some of my favourites were Corona, Snap!, Urban Cookie Collective !
I think of Vengaboys as a 2 hit wonder because I remember "Boom, Boom, Boom" being more overplayed than "We Like To Party" in my area and still think it's the better song.
Just because the songs are cheesy doesn't make them less popular😁
@HiredKiller08 I absolutely agree with your view.
This just makes me feel old. lol
Great flashbacks! Thx !
The 90s were uniquely weird and wonderful.
Aqua had another Top 40 hit in the US with “Lollipop (Candyman)” which peaked at number #23 in the Billboard Hot 100 in 1998.
They are also massive in Europe and Asia with multiple number one songs (“My Oh My”, “Doctor Jones”, “Turn Back Time” etc).
i like "back to the 80's" aswell
Turn Back Time is actually a great song. Not the sort you would expect from the band that wrote "Barbie Girl"
They're my "guilty pleasure" band, and the Lollipop (Candyman) video is legendary
"Turn Back Time" was featured in the movie " Sliding Doors" starring Gwyneth Paltrow and John Hannah
Btw I came here to point out that Aqua isn't a one hit wonder.
Thank you Kim Allen for beating me to it❤️
Hey! That "I'm Too Sexy" song (the 90s, not the remake) was a fun song to dance really badly to at clubs. It was also an excuse to strip to the lyrics for sh^ts and giggles. It being cheesy was part of the fun too... silly was the point. And some of those songs were more popular with tasteless kids just getting into music who got their parents to buy albums and phone in to radio stations for requested plays... crappy songs get lots of play that way since the music industry began. "Ice Ice Baby" is a great song, Vanilla Ice's persona is d-bag personified, and we all loved it... a totally entertaining and lovable d-bag. To this day, I want to meet and hang with the guy. I'm kind of ashamed one of my favorite bands (Queen) accused him of stealing a bit from "Under Pressure". They are musicians. They should have caught how different that bit was... and it stole less from other music than other hip-hop artists in their "sampling". I mean, did Rick James go ballistic on MC Hammer for his "Can't Touch This" music for more than a bit being a clone of "Superfreak"? No. Meh... **rolls eyes**
This is my entire childhood in one video
Happy Easter everyone. Have to say that I liked them all. Always fun to watch. Great video
This list sums it up perfectly. I think one of the reasons we grew to dislike some of these songs was because you could not escape them. Take a decade or so off, and what was once annoying becomes endearing. Nice trip down memory lane here.
This is only because even the worst and most annoying songs from back then look like masterpieces compared to the CRAP that is called "Music" today. At least the majority of it.
@@KRAFTWERK2K6 sadly I completely agree 1000% but I do admit, some stuff I actually DO enjoy! Not everyone will enjoy a variety of music like I do!
Vanilla Ice & Shaq will always have a place in my heart ❤ in the 90s gotta love it 😆
Thanks for this video mix it brought back memories of my son's growing up n the fun we had trying to dance to the beat
These songs weren’t so cheesy in their day and that’s why you know of them now. Keep it 💯 Mojo
Eh, plenty of them were. We just didn't care. They were fun and feel-good, and we didn't take it all so seriously
Most of them were cheesy. A few of them were really good and hold up. But the rest were cheesy and only get pulled out for stuff like this.

barbie girl was always cheesy

I'm getting use to showing these videos to people and telling them "I was there when that came out, and it slapped." The joys of getting old.
Btw , Snow actually said “I’ll lick your bum bum down” meaning he wants to kill the snitch lol
If you're really into "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65, I highly recommend listening to their other hit, "Move Your Body." And yes, it's exactly how it sounds. Like the former track, lots of repetition in the chorus. Still awesome to me tho, lol.
"Blue are the streets and all the trees are too, I have a girlfriend and she is so blue."
Move Your Body is ok, but for me Too Much Of Heaven, Now Is Forever and Another Race are the top ones from Europop. Contact though is a more solid album imo, more organic and diverse sounding.
7:50 - LEN was incredible, Steal my Sunshine still just one of the best beats out there!
I was trying to think of this awhile back and I couldn't remember the name of the song or who sang it, all I remembered was the music video. So thank you (I haven't watched this video yet).
I have a scar on my arm from when I punched through a window in 2001. When I was getting stitches, Steal my sunshine was playing in the ER. I said, " I feel sorry for anyone on their deathbed who has to listen to this crap." Unfortunately, everytime I look at my arm I get that damn song stuck in my head.. Something I just have to live with.. Dammit! 🤣🤣
Stayed in my head for years that one.

As a kid I'd hear or watch many of these songs on TV and radio. They were another part of my childhood that I hope I never forget. The 90s were (to some including myself) a golden age. Baywatch Batman TAS X-Men and so on. Warm memories that will be remembered for many years to come.
What is TAS?
Wow this took me back. Highschool dances and parties and definitely some bar hopping lol
this list brings back so many memories....
Missed one though. From what my uncle said MC Hammer's, "Hammer Time," was sometimes playing 12 or 13 times a day on the local radio. He told me, "it was like listening to the Frozen theme song for 8 days straight, eventually you want to pack your ears with super glue sometimes to get it to stop."🤣
He was not a one hit wonder. U Can’t Touch This (not Hammer Time) was not the only MC Hammer song on the radio all day every day.

Vanilla Ice had another Top 10 hit with “Play That Funky Music.”
My teen years was the 80s so I was able to go to clubs when Vanilla Ice showed up with this. It was not a favorite song of mine but it sure was a blast. He got such a bad deal with the hiphop scene. So I love this song now and not afraid to say it. It was fun then and fun now. So much better than some of the crap coming out now from that quarter.
Los Del Río are actually from Spain, not Latin, and I howled with laughter when it was the song that defeated Van Helsing and won over the kraken in the movie Hotel Transylvania 3
“Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin had the Kraken looking like he had hit the world’s biggest blunt and was high as a mf
$2000 dollar speaker system destroyed by playing Macarena too loud on my jukebox
The thing about Chumbawumba's Tubthumper is that when I came home from work, I heard my brother's stereo that had on an alternative rock station with some guy talking about Tubthumper and how it is the same song when played in reverse. And he actually played part of the song backwards. First off, how in the world could he play the song backwards when you have no turntable and a vinyl record? After he played the song he says something like, See, same damn song. Those were his words. You know, I thought I read something about the Macarena making its debut in Mexico in 1993. In 1994, I went to Mexico with my sister, my mom, and my sister. I could have sworn I heard a song on the radio in one of the little stores in Mexico. Cause I kept hearing some guy with a double tracked vocal singing and every time he would stop, some weird sound would go AAAHYI!!! Boy, you know you're witnessing pop culture history when you're hearing someone on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve talking about the history of dance crazes like The Twist and other stuff and the latest dance craze is the Macarena.
One of these days, I'm going to a fast food establishment and ordering "Combo #5" as if I were Lou Bega.
This should be titled just "Hits from the 90s".
Whatch Mojo, I know the answer to the age old question of "What is love?" and it's right there.
"Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more!"
In da words of Brian Adams...Those were the Best days of our lives🎸
I never got fed up with Mmmbop. It's one of my sounds of the summer. It made me feel old a few years ago, seeing them give an interview where the brothers talked about touring and singing the song with their kids.
The funny thing about Chumbawumba for me is their next single was called Amnesia. And then everyone forgot about them... I only remember the chorus because of saying that quip to people. "Do you suffer from long term memory loss? I don't remember..."
The sad thing about Aqua for me was only having big hits with their most cartoony stuff, because they did Turn Back Time from Sliding Doors, which showed they had the music to match the darker lyrics they had as well. It showed they could do ballads and they were just as good as the more upbeat tracks. They deserved more credit for it.
As for the Macarena, I'm glad to learn this was a different version after all, I was sure the song we know sounded different as a kid. No Mandela Effect for me!
There was such a Hanson backlash at my school that scratched CD's were left all over the place. Teens can be SUCH drama queens.
I don't know if it's on UA-cam but have a look for the interview they did with Dylan Lewis on Australian Saturday morning TV show, Recovery. It was conducted in a swimming pool and very funny
I probably hated Hanson's Mmmmbop so much at the time, as it was just about every 2nd song on the damn radio at the time. Somewhat like Achey Breaky Heart. Weird-Al did a fantastic version of that at the time, hinting at just how much it was overplayed. Billy Ray Cyrus just disappeared off the planet after that song and album, but BOY did they play the hell out of THAT song also.
I consider Mmmbop "THE !!!" Single most embarrassing song of the 90s,
i consider it a huge mistake in history and something that should never have happened and is probably best forgotten and never to be spoken of again.
i am literally embarrassed to admit that this song was part of us growing up.
that's how fucked up Mmmbop was
Even the video was shit and you could see it was just them running around and doing shit that was pointless , let's add a big flower in their for browny points and to look like a hippie, Then we point at the camera
then we run around, then we play some instruments and........... Voila , instant video clip and spot on VIDEO HITS
Hanson were fucked !!!!
Vengabus’ “We Like To Pary.”
Haddaway’s “What Is Love.”
😃👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The Veganbus song “We Like To Party” reminds me of the old man dancing from the Six Flags commercial
And “What Is Love” by the Haddaway reminds me of the movie A Night At The Roxbury
I could always understand SNOW and even my mom liked him and she'd often ask me if I understood him and was amazed I could sing along. LOL
I remember when Eiffel 65's album "Europop" first came out, my original copy accidently shattered in my backpack and I had to get it replaced. I still have that CD and listen to it every so often.
And there would be no Eiffel '65 if there hadn't been Kraftwerk. They are so underrated.
Cheesy song = catchy earworms

OK, I have to point out that Hanson was not technically a one-hit-wonder (even in the U.S.), even if MMMBop is the only hit of theirs a lot of people remember. They've had three Top 20 US Hot 100 singles and eight UK Top 40 singles. From just their debut album, "Middle of Nowhere", other hits besides MMMBop included: "Where is the Love" was #6 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40., "I Will Come to You" was #9 on the US Billboard Hot 100,. In other countries they had other hits from their debut along with hits from later albums.
Funny thing about Vanilla Ice, he’s a licensed contractor now whit his own show called “The Vanilla Ice Project”. He’s been a licensed contractor for 23 years
Breakfast with tiffany and get what you give
I remember Rico Suave appearing on Vh1’s 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs Ever, and one guy from the show put it best saying: “it’s just so ridiculous & so absurd & so slimy & greasy, it really makes you wanna just wash your hands after you hear that song.”
Or listen to Weird Al's parody _Taco Grande._
80's and 90's. Greatest of eras unmatched by anything current. ;)
Cotton eyed joe was like an alarm to visit the bar for another drink waiting for it ti end lol
Hanson has been a group for almost 30 years and are still going strong touring and releasing new music. And now they are all married with kids of their own. Isaac has 3 kids, Taylor has 7 kids, and Zac has 5 kids.
Yeah no they still suck.
Holy shit 15 grandkids?! Christmas must be popping
@@Luka-DanteGodofMischief LOL. And that's not even counting their 4 siblings who all have kids too.
@@crystalsnow1138 holy hell 19 grandkids?!!! Holy crap just imagine when they all go visit their grandparents, it's like a mini rave 😂
@@Luka-DanteGodofMischief There are 7 kids in the Hanson family, and around 23 grandkids (so far).
I've said it before and i'll say it again: The 1990s was the BEST TIME EVER to be alive! God, I miss those happy days. We need them to come back in the worst way.
The 1990s is the happiest best days i have ever lived. life had an old school vibe to it, it was so much optimism at the end of the decade
I run every morning to my favorite 90s songs, as I go past people they are all, "all right!"....
Sucks that time machine doesn't exist. I would've left this shitty era instantly.
Dude, so much yes. The best fun ever. That’s what it all was the great fun party before the pc world started taking over. Comedy, music movies so great

My husband says that all the time too, that everyone is so insecure and anxious to be offended that you can't even laugh at anything without someone getting mad, even if there is nothing at all being offensive going on (I'm obviously NOT talking about hatefulness, etc, just regular silly joking)...
My favorites are Mambo No.5, Mr. Vain, Baby Got Back, and Macarena.
I miss the 90s.
The fun loving innocence of it all. Before 9/11, before cancel culture, before blackrock owning the world, before all the shit we loved being "remade" into horse shit, before social media.
Kids who grew up in social media can't even conceive of how much better the world was before it existed.
I don’t consider Sex and Candy cheesy. I never heard that genre name before you used it and love it. Post-Grunge. Otherwise, excellent list.
If you know Creed and Nickelback, you know Post-Grunge.
Honestly still can't stand the song myself, but that's just, like, my opinion man. Still upvoted you, because why not?
@@professorworm3426 thanks so much Professor - I appreciate it🙏
@@lanegunnell1218 or is that Post-Cringe?
@@professorworm3426 The Dude.
Most of these are on my "One Hit Wonder" playlist, but that entire Aqua album is awesome, fun, and hilarious, and also resulted in some all-time classic music videos
Cartoon Heroes is a damn masterpiece and i will not have slander on it.
My complements on a wonderful episode Watchmojo, very fun and nostalgic
Whoomp was so unsuccessful they had to sell out to Barry Sonnenfeld so he could put it in the Addams Family 2.
Eiffel 65’s “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” is still one of the best songs from the ‘90s and we can’t stop listening to it.
It's not really cheesy tho lol
When the song was new someone told me Da Ba Dee part sounds like ‘if I was green I would die’.
@@SamoaVsEverybody814 I personally think it is a really good song.
@@andrewm3612 Same bro. Super unique & catchy. Hard af to sing to lol
@@SamoaVsEverybody814 Tell me about it. However, I don't really bother singing along to a lot of stuff (excepting for a few select songs which I found quite easy to sing along to, since my singing voice is not exactly the best).
Informer by snow has been one of my favs ever since I heard it wayy back in 2nd grade! Such a bop😁
Jim Carrey made a parody of it called ''Imposter''
I was in LA during the 90s and had the best time ever! The Viper room, the recording studio, the carefree fun (not the riots!), but we had a blast!
That was so fun!!
All this nostalgia is making me cry. Thanks a lot mojo 😭
All these songs are awesome ! The 90s are the best! 😃
I love some of these songs!!
Hanson actually put out a TON of great music after this. The mainstream missed all theri real talent.
They just performed in Machaca festival in Mexico 🇲🇽 they still have a big fan base and their music still rocks
