Last time I played yu gi oh was 10 years ago and I played OG monarchs, I come back in 2023 and the updated monarch is my favorite still. Just like you, I think Edea is the weak point of the deck, so I do run call from the grave and 2x of her max. However it has some other more ( besides bricking which makes you lose against basically everyone ). Playing second especially means you can’t prevent your opponent combo so they will get extra deck stuff and some monsters are simply too good to get removed ( not even affected by stormforth ), getting negated is a big issue for monarch if the hand didn’t have multiple openings available and no protection ( more on that later ) Also 2800 attack for the 2 big guys is cool, but honeslty feels low sometimes when your opponent has 3k+ or another 2800. Sure, domain might bring them to 3600 but only when they attack so on their turn they are fragile. Non targeting disruption also kinda destroys them as March of will not protect. Finally, their own lack of negation is an issue : sometimes I feel like I set up a strong board but I can’t protect it if I didn’t draw solemn judgment too, so have to hope opponent has no answer and vanity’s fiend or domain locks him out of the game for the win. That’s why I’ve been thinking of dark bribe. Overall a very fun archetype though.
Hey man, glad your back in the game 🙂. Going second I agree it struggles into negates , however opening stormforth and a monarch is still really good in some situations, especially if you can get the field spell to stick 🤞 The new spell is a massive help tbh, due to the floodgate nature of the deck you pretty much always live a turn for that draw 2. The second normal summon also makes return of the monarchs a great card too.
Questions: Would you consider monarchs erupt or skill drains? Why not play more than 1 return to help chain block against ash? Would you consider siding or maining droplet for how versatile our targets can be sending monsters spells and traps
Hi man, Since Magesty fiend is searchable no need to play monarchs erupt or skill drain I only play the one return due to it only being good if you already have the set up to tribute summon, so opening multiple is just dead. Could try droplets though, that could work 🙂 Subscribe if you are new ❤️
Such a shame that I play Master Duel and they don't have time-tearing morganite yet, but I am absolutely looking forward to it! Just a question(well 2), do you think it'll be worth it to run the new Monarch? Cuz I know it doesn't have the stat to be searchable but its built in kaiju makes it able to tribute unaffected cards that Stormforth struggle with. Second, what about the Monarch Erupt and Escalation? Free Skill Drain and summoning on opponent's turn respectively. I thought they're good, but I see you're not playing them? Or is it because we're running Majesty's Fiend already? Sincerely, another Monarch main
Hello fellow Monarch Duelist, Love to see you found my video. Tbh I’m not sure about that new monarch yet, yes he is good as he has built in ‘Kaiju’ effect, however not being searchable sucks ☹️. Only testing can decide that one. When it comes to the traps, erupt is your magesty fiend (which is searchable like erupt) and I feel escalation is replaced with the new spell. Sincerely Rogue Tier, also a monarch enjoyer. Subscribe if new ❤️
Insane deck list man, you incorporated some brand new staples that make the deck somewhat rogue, this is dope!! Would this deck profile be consideed budget? Can you give me a rough estimate of the price of it plz? My friend needs a budget deck to get into yugioh and he told me monarchs are pretty cool
Super thrilled you enjoyed the video bud. If you go lowest rarity everything is pretty cheap tbh. Only pricy card would be the fenrir playset. You should be able to grab the whole deck + side for less then £100
Hi! How do you feel about sakitama? It’s basically a free normal summon (playing around your own vanity’s fiend) while also putting another copy of himself into your hand from the gy when tributed.
Probably because upon resolution it locks you out of all in-hand monster effects (including powerful handtraps) and it only gives you an extra normal summon. You don’t get the extra draw until your next turn (and onward) making it very slow. It’s fantastic in the grind game, but if you die on the 2nd or 3rd turn, it gives you little value, not worth running when you could instead run more consistency cards, handtraps or board-breakers that give you an immediate, more impactful payout that same turn. I think the card really shines in more causal dueling scenes, where the games are slower and have more back-and-forth play.
Thing is monarchs usually always survive due to the flood gate nature of the deck. Even if they can clear the board it takes quite a few resources. This means the draw 2 comes up 🙂. Tbh I think the second normal is infinitely better then the draws. Makes return a good card as you can search magesty fiend and then normal it with second normal
Not the worst shout imo. Just feel every card you play has to be impactful going first or second. If you draw escalation going second it is incredibly useless ☹️. Monarchs need to maximise their playable hands. Could 100% side it and put it in going first though
What do you think about my thought the deck is not like in 2016 the ether is no longer that ,,powerfull,, she was at 1 😅 so i would kick the 2 ether out erebus at 3 vanitys fiend at 3 and majisties fiend at 1 because she is searchable (7 boss monster) and change of heart in the main or side. Eidos and edea are no longer good because of the heavy hand traps ... so 1 edea and 1 eidos should be enought. I hope my english is not rhat bad 😅 what do you think about that? And why no calld by instead of the 3 book of moon to stop the handtrap?
Hi man, you can try it out and LMK how that build goes😎 I find ether is decent but only with monarch storm forth. Book of moon acts like called by against imperm and veiler which is crucial on your normal summons. If they imperm or veiler your edea chain book to flip it face down and it will resolve through the HT. Same idea on the tribute summon monarchs Subscribe if you are new ❤️
So book of moon is not that bad in that deck okey. I thought it is a very old card and there is a better version of it.. And I would love to play ether if there are a better version of kuraz i think kuraz is a little bit to bad for monarchs they do not like each other for a monach player we will not see the apponent draw cards because one handtrap could kill the ,,combo,, and to draw the kuraz is also bad ... as you said in the beginning of the video erebus is very important because if it is t. summond than it helps the deck alot 1 card back to the deck again is very nice but only by this summon restricktion ether is because of the kuraz topic the erebus topic and also the new spell (Time-Tearing Morganite ) topic bad i do not know how the deck would perform with less monster and more cards that lets you draw like upstard goblin, change of heart ... Could you build a deck like that 15 monsters 7 boss monster 7 or 8 ,,squires,, and 1 or 2 traps the rest spell cards
2 and 2 because they are the choke points of the deck. If they negate either of them and you don’t have time-tearing it’s a pass for that turn. Wanted to focus on the free bodies (fenrir, pendulum guy) as that preserves the normal summon while also getting tribute fodder. You can play Mithra tbh. I just feel this build atm is pretty good for bodies on field

Gonna be honest hadn’t thought of that. I feel the deck is good for bodies atm. Maybe add a copy or 2 of Sakitma
Morganite is such a bonkers card I feel not enough people are discussing.
Honestly I think it’s slept on

Could 100% side it and put it in going first though
why not play unexplored winds and use it as a super stormforth since it can remove backrow or play kashtira ogre and use it like the red layer tactic
Hadn’t thought of those cards tbh. Good shout!

Love this build! Is there a good replacement for the Fenrir though?
Any monster that could special out for free could replace him. He is just the best option at the moment
Kashtira ogre bc it has monarch stats
@@roguetier8025 Kashtira ogre
That is a great shoot! Didn’t know he had monarch stats
what would you replace for Fenrir as a Budget version?
Super quant red layer
When’s the next deck profile
Still a while to go bud. Deck list hasn’t change much at all since this video
So the spell Morganite x3 ?
Correct 🔥
what is the name of the letter at minute 4:40?
Unsure why you mean bud. Cards on screen at 4:40 are edea and eidos if that’s any help
Why 2 edea and 2 eidos??? Why no mithra???

No Mithra because you can't SS it from the hand if you play time tearing morganite I believe.
That too!
