I'm happy for the Evangelion fans who want those kits but RG has barely touched gundam and they're already switching to another franchise
@@michaeldelcastillo7211 my RG unicorn is great and solid as a rock, and my Nu is also a masterpiece of engineering. My Sazabi is still in progress ( only built the inner frame for now )

Unless it's a Revive or a P-Bandai version, I don't think Bandai fixes existing kit issues, especially with the RG line which I think needs some revives for the earlier kits like the RX-78 and Zaku II.
@@KirkysWorld I liked the Nu, but I made the mistake of trying to handpaint it, which made it such a tedious build it lost its luster for me. Still amazing kit though.
I think the "stability issues" are because people haven't followed the instructions properly, and have not attached the cap under the shoulders correctly, or moved the flaps when connecting the core to the top. Great review as usual, been early awaiting this one :) Probably my fave RG kit. Can't wait to see your FB review, I've been meaning to pick it up myself. @@potato1499 A lot of the complaints actually from everywhere and not just Reddit. Most of the issues I hear regarding kit stability pretty much come down to the inner frame becoming weaker over time faster relative to kits without the Advanced MS Joint system, so obviously stability issues aren't really one that'll appear in a newly built kit.

Been into gundam since the covid-19. RG GP01Fb is my first kit. I saw it in a Linkin Park MV and being a Linkin Park fan I just decided that I have to have it.
I'd love to see a "style" comparison between this, the various other 1/144 kits, and the recent-ish Robot Damashii figure, which I think is the absolute best at capturing the look and feel of the anime and original Kawamori lineart.
HLJ released a vid of the older hg kit and now this review... Coincidence? Edit: I haven't built this RG but went for the Full Burnen. I too haven't experienced the core fighter coming loose and the joints are still holding stiffly after all these years since building the kit. I'm guessing those with the afore mentioned issue are the ones who pose and play alot with their kits. I like the fact that the Zephyranthes can kneel. That's pretty awesome. I'm hoping they'll finally make the RG version of the Physalis and some much needed MG2.0 kits as well.
I think you're right concerning a kit's joint integrity over its lifetime. I like changing up the poses from time to time, and try to get as many different poses as possible when I do photoshoots for each kit I build. As a result, I've definitely noticed some kits have become quite loose. I tend to stay away from RG kits that show even the slightest issue with looseness as a result. Shame considering this particular gundam is one of my favs.
The gp01 and full Burnern are two of my favorite real grades, I find they hold together pretty damn well and they look fantastic even just sittin there. The full burnern I find is much less sturdy tho
Man, the people who complain about these RGs were definitely not around the pre-internet days when the original 1991 GP-01 kit came out! 😂 I loved building this. I panel lined the Vulcans and chest “grill” pieces on the runners before assembling mine. I was thinking of modding my ‘91 GP-01 but no amount of panel line engraving or painting will make that one articulate anywhere near as good as this kit (so I’m keeping mine unpainted as is to show how far Bandai has come since then!)
Always love my HG standard Zephyrantes. The first one I ever painted. Its simple looking, and the one that looks utilitarian. For the HG full vernian version, I dislike the chest boosters and the shoulder boosters. Looks like somebody puts too many trumpets all over. Hope the rg could made it better. I am hoping they make V2 GP02 Physallis in RG or HG.
The two RG GP01s are such great kits for being early RG's and they don't deserve a lot of the dismissal or hate they get. Amazing proportions, just the right amount of panel and decal detail, fun gimmicks, and have great presence. They are definitely not the solid build the Mk2's are, but people who invest in the RG line need to at least try one of the GP01's (Full Burnern is my pick, and the only gripe is the waist joint is insufficient). It was my introduction to the RG line and many RG kits later I'm glad I didn't start with Unicorn, Mk2, and those other more highly recommended ones--GP01 was an excellent introduction to the line.
This is the one kit I regret passing on. I remember watching the trailer of stardust memory on my Gundam Wing videotape and being totally enamored by it!

Hello from Indonesia👋
built this kit FB version and had bad experience. that kit is a brick and a nightmare to pose. just like the MG unicorn, you get it for the looks, not for the poseabilty. the Zephyranthes may have subtle difference or slight connective issue between the torso and core fighter portion since the backpack is minimal and light. If bandai didnt integrate the core fighter gimmick, the kit may have been very solid
Men, i just wish the made a MG gp01/gb01fb 2.0
Bandai should make RM or GP02 2.0
THAT, is a beam Jutté if I remember correctly
Yeah I knew it was something like that but it sounded weird how I was thinking it in my mind so just opted to NOPE on trying to pronounce it
