    Hello 😊
    I'm riding a J-57 in Japan! I saw your left steering wheel J-23 for the first time
    It's cool ~👍️

      4G54 engine? Wow, that's quite unusual! LHD is not so uncommon, since Mitsubishi started making them for export in the 60's. But yes, RHD is much more common. Mine was converted from RHD because it's not allowed to use RHD vehicle here in the Philippines! I will have a look at your camp cooking videos tomorrow for some ideas! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

      They're great, and greatly underappreciated! I always have a giggle at the guys dropping a diesel in a CJ3B, thinking they've invented the best thing after sliced bread!

    Many people in India still use these lovely vehicles as a daily beater. Very hard to break one of these,…

    • @LesSharp
      @LesSharp  2 роки тому

      Absolutely. I thought Mahindra owned the market for these, but good to hear Mitsubishi represents there!

      @@LesSharp not at all. Mahindra is the undisputed ruler and the only ones who sold these WW2 Jeeps and adapted the platform to a multitude of different types of utility vehicles in India. Mitsubishi never sold any licensed jeeps here in India. They came in in a partnership with Hindustan Motors and sold the Lancer, the Lancer Cedia, the Pajero and the Pajero Sport. They never did well in India and have shut shop here long ago. Now Jeep is here through Fiat Chrysler in India and they do sell the Jeep Compass and the Wrangler and the Cherokee. The price of a Compass is around 45000 USD equivalent. The price of the Wrangler is around 100000 USD equivalent. The price of a Cherokee is about 160000 USD equivalent. None of these frankly are really worth it.
      Mahindra continues to rule. They have brought in a completely new generation of vehicle, inspired by their own legacy and DNA, it is called the Thar and this costs about 18000 USD which is a great value product….

    Very nice Jeep of yours. "..Look, there are some seemingly very tired & miserable Navy personnel sitting on the roadside." "You must be Lt. John D. Buckeley aren`t you? Don`t you know you`re been ordered to back home?"..

    Nice jeep, how much did it cost to restore it? My family owns an older model of this jeep

      Thanks for your question! To be honest, it did not need that much work. The powertrain is and was in very good shape when I got it. It had had body work and been repainted when it was converted to LHD. I’ve put maybe 4k into the suspension, 2k into electrics and 5k on miscellaneous things that were missing. I’m going to be another 15k in when I finish the current rust and canopy repair work. I did put another 40k into wheel and tire, but I did wear out the originals and couldn’t source original military tires during lockdown, which forced the upgrade.

    • @LesSharp
      @LesSharp  2 роки тому +1

      Hiya. Thanks for stopping by! RHD vehicles are illegal in the Philippines and all JSDF vehicles are RHD. As I know it, it was converted to LHD drive. I do believe some genuine LHD parts were used, probably from a civilian model like a J53. How easy it is will depend on your access to those parts!
