Yes! I'm from a nearby city and love to make weekend trips up there. Going in the fall/spring when fires permitted is my favorite. Little sketchy since it is first come first serve, but I haven't had an issue yet.

Anything is dangerous, just take proper precautions. Like i always tell my gf, don't stray far away from me out of sight. Always keep talking if you do have to step out of sight. People go missing all the time anywhere. Talking let's you know a person is there. Never assume. Communicate well
