Cave Of the Winds is near one of my big childhood memories. Santa Land. It was very fulfilling to me when my boys were much younger to take them to the same place I would go as a child and I got to watch them Oooo and Ahhh like i did when I was their age.
So the crazy thing about this video (I watched it last night) is, I work in an Antique Store and my husband came for a brief visit yesterday. One of the very few things I pointed out to him, by saying, "there's something you don't see everyday" was a pair of wooly chaps!! It was like deja vu watching this!
I grew up in Denver and my grandparents lived in the Springs. We all went to Manitou Springs quite often. Thank you for sharing this video and bringing back such great memories of growing up for me!
What a cool trip. Alex and Heather thank you for taking me on this amazing trip with you. This a certainly a town I will put in my bucket list to see in the future. (God willing) God's blessings to you and ALL your family, old and new members.💖💖💖💖
Manitou is one of my favorite little towns to visit - Colorado has so many fun little towns. We have a beautiful state and I'm so happy you've been able to see some of it while visiting your family!!!
Honestly that “Rowe BC-35” change machine at the 12 min mark could be worth silly amounts of money. I dunno about Canada but those machines hold a lot of nostalgia for 1980s arcade goers who straightened a lot of bills on the edge of that thing to fetch another handful of playtime.
Love that you're exploring Manitou Springs and the penny arcade, it's interesting to hear your expertise on those antique games I've played many times. New found appreciation!
Alex your endeavors you take us on are so endearing. Good to see siblings make up for all the lost time to play and have fun. Would of been nice to see your brother joining the party of the three musketeers. All for one and one for all. Thanks for the memories.
Thanks for taking us on this adventure with you and Heather. I giggled when it said uncontrollable. Did you end up going in the toy store or did Heather think, like me, that you might be 'uncontrollable' in there, lol.
I love that arcade - I know you aren't there anymore but I hope you tried the Spring Water right outside. I think its some of the most delicious water I have ever drank. Manitou Springs is fantastic!
@@jenniferwarhawk7301 The Spout just outside the arcade (He showed it in the video) is my favorite and I think it tastes very much like Pellegrino water. Every time I'm in town I stop by and fill a few gallon jugs.
@@PeterStawicki Weird. I'll be honest, I've never drank from it myself so I shouldn't say I think it's awful. But my son has and he said it was so bad that he spit it out. After that, I've never had the guts to try it. Ok, I never had the guts long before him. It's clear how many minerals are in the water by the condition of the spout. But after my son spit it out I definitely had no desire after that. We both love San Pelligrino.
My son went to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and I have not been in the area for 25 years, and your tour showed me just how different Manitou Springs is now. I loved it back then, but several years ago, they had massive flooding that caused quite a bit of damage, and I assume that is where all the newer buildings are. Old Colorado City is similar too. So many places to tour in that area, it really takes a couple of weeks to take it all in. I hope you can plan some time to bring the family to COS and enjoy all the wonderful attractions and landscape.
Well you know where to bring the kids when you all visit Aunty together. :) That looks like alot of fun and something for everyone. :) That cave was awesome!! :)
Can't believe it, I never go anywhere, and I'm out of town when you're here. 🤦♀️ I live in Colorado Springs, but I love Manitou Springs. 💕 Southwest Silver Company has the best selection of crystals, and such great prices. I always have to drop in there.
Welcome to my part of the world. I've been living in Colorado Springs for 30 years. And yet I don't know your sister, so weird. Love seeing you over in Manitou. I don't get over there anymore. But, I've always loved it. Through your video I get to see things I haven't seen before. I hope you are enjoying your visit.
Wow! I was there a month ago-a quaint little town indeed. The nearby coffee and pastry shop serves fantastic everything, so I hope you were able to partake of some of their goodness 👍
Hey!!! My husband’s hometown of Manitou!! He worked at the Penny Arcade in high school and so did our youngest son! We moved away last year, our youngest still lives in the area. I’m so glad you got to enjoy Manitou!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love this lived in colo. springs many years most of my kids born there. Manitou was a fun place to explore. I sometimes miss this kids talk about there time there but here in port Angeles, Washington has alot for the outdoors person to do
Thanks for sharing this wonderful place. Love to see mountains in America and Canada. Unfortunately i can never come there. But this is for my so nice to see. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
I really enjoyed this video as I know I won’t make it to Manitou Springs myself but I definitely like it as much as I thought I would. My kind of place.
Hi Alex, thank you for sharing your trip with us. You had a French plate in your hand right at the same time you said looking for one, incredible, isn’t it? Take care and best regards from Finland, Pascal the French guy 😉👍
Gee I am haveing a blast watching these trip videos. I like going into caves and town surely is different with the water running thru it. Thanks Alex and tour guide Heather.
I was in Scarborough ( the Yorkshire one not the Canadian one) this summer and came across one of Zoltar's close relatives. It was like meeting an old friend!
Gr8 video and footage of this cool town.. Love the shops you visit along the way especially the Penny Arcade that was fun.. Those caves and mountains were a special treat.. Take care always..👍💕🔥⚾🤙
Your brother and sister will need a vacation to rest up after you leave, looks like a great time! I couldn’t keep up with you!especially that castle that was some crazy heights, made me dizzy watching!🤔😝🇺🇸
It's been many years ago, but my son was considering the Air Force Academy after high school AF JrROTC. We stayed in Manitou Springs, visited the Academy and Pikes Peak. Also, attended a NASCAR race at the now defunct speedway. It was a lovely place to visit and if I had the means, would love to live there. It doesn't look like much has changed in seventeen years.
My husband and I went to Colorado Springs to celebrate out 40th Anniversary. We bought a piece of the Horsehair pottery at the first local artisan shop you visited as a reminder of out trip. Lots of fun places to visit and wonderful places to eat.
Thanks for taking us with you. Colorado is beautiful and that town looks right up your alley. That cave looked very interesting too. I used to visit Boulder for work and we would go skiing in beautiful Vail. Another village well woth a visit.
Navigating that cave is like a scene out of the original Star Trek series. Just waiting for some alien bad guy to jump out and snatch up the guy in front of you lol
Randomly came across this today. Moved near this place last year. I subscribed to your channel because you remind me of my family with all the treasure hunting
I recall many days in early 80s walking through Manatou Springs and then driving through the mountains. Played a lot of pinball back then but don't recall the arcade. Maybe it came later...
Heather, we continue to love you whether you show your face or not! Of course, we love seeing you too.
13:23 Heather's laugh to 'uncontrollable??' is just THE best 😂
That was awesome Alex! Thank you so much for taking us with you! Hello to your brother and sister!

“If we hear them scream 🙀 we should probably not go that way” 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 that totally cracked me up 😍
Alexander and Heather, thank you for taking us along on your adventure.

Manitou Springs the canal so beautiful how it runs thru the town, caves are awesome and amazing mountain views 🤩

You were just 15 minutes from my house - up the "hill" in WoodlandPark!! I'm so glad you're enjoying your time!!
Thank you for a great day 💗

Alex, in Colorado, if there's a mountain we are going to climb it, or build a house on top of it.🌱
My Grandparents moved into that area in the early 1930s. I think the arcade has been there forever- my cousins and I played there as kids
