@@hackermattt2552 Adams, Reagan and Ford were all older than Hoover. In fact, John Adams was the longest living president in history from 1803 when he surpassed Washington (duh) to 2001 when Reagan surpassed his age. It is amazing that Hoover earned 58 percent in his first round but only 39 percent in his second round. That is a 19 point swing against him. In 1992, Bush had 37 percent as opposed to 53 percent, so a 16 point swing. In 1980, Carter won 41 percent compared to 50 percent in 1976, so 'only' a 9 point swing. I won't count 1976 since Ford wasn't the incumbent in 1972. 1912 was technically a 28 point swing against Taft but that is only because of the infamous split (although I do think Wilson would have won even without the split). I wish cavin Coolidge went for that 10 year presidency
I think Coolidge seen The Great Depression coming, so he decided to not do that.
Well he died about 2 months before the 10 years would have run out
@@scottaznavourian5791 Also his son died during the 1924 election, which contributed to both his decision not to run and likely why he died at 60
@Brandon C. Actually lbj got fat and started smoking again after he left the white house. Another twerm might have extended his life? Same with washington who wouldnt be tending hus crops in the freezing cold from the whitehouse
Thanks mate, this is very useful for my history gcse coursework
Despite his nationwide loss, Hoover is the last Republican to win Philadelphia.
Good job on this video.
18nth century-george washington
19nth century-abraham lincoln
20th century-franklin d roosevelt
21st century-barack obama(so far)
Best presidents
Washington would be horrified at Roosevelt and Obama (and possibly Lincoln). They undid everything he did.
The 20th century had a lot of good presidents. Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy and so on. Most presidents during the Cold War were great.
Obama is the least worse
Obama was one of the worst president in history along with Fdr and now Biden
"Happy Days are Here Again" is Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1932 campaign song.
Has there ever been a President from Kansas?
Dwight D. Eisenhower (although he was born in Texas, he was raised in Abilene, Kansas)
Mr. Beat now that I know he was the only President from the state, were Alfred Landon and Dwight Eisenhower the only two Presidential candidates from the state
Nipun Sharma Bob dole
@@rockstarsharma53 You forgot Robert Dole in 1996.
I should have won :(
Herbert Hoover lol
Herbert Hoover Yes. Yes you should have. You would have been great.
+Herbert Hoover I agree.
Herbert Hoover fuck of Herbert
you were
meh
What do you think of FDR?
4:32 did you mean 1860?
Jeremy Clarkson No the canidates were from an alternate future in 1960, where America was still dirt poor and Nazis dominated europe. They went to the 30's to run for president to prevent horrible future events from happening
Listen again. He said 1916.
Al Capone did more for the people than President Hoover during the depression
Plenty of Hoovervilles these days.
Thanks to failure of Democrat urban policies
America needs social democracy now more than ever, not chumpism!
Only in your dreams 😂
1:34 Yeah, I've heard of the Hoover Dam. It's a dam in central Ohio, and its name has absolutely nothing to do with any President. No, seriously. It was named after the brothers Charles P. Hoover and Clarence B. Hoover.
He meant the other hoover dam… the one that people actually care about
@@PossessedPotatoBird Yes, I know.
Interesting fact: This was the only time that a campaign song has been used in one of these videos. as of, 2024
This Roosevelt guy seems interesting. I sure hope he doesn't run for more than 2 terms.
before watching this i thought hoover caused it.
The more you know
Lol. He did cause it!
@@SarahGrace221 no he didn’t, he just didn’t solve it either
@@joshuajoe1419 Yes he did and not solving it or making it better is practically the same as starting it, regardless

The amount of comments is triple six, i was obliged to write this message
You said 1960
Beat, i think you made an opps.
I think you meant Wilson getting the Democratic nomination in 1912 or you did mean Kennedy in 1960. The sentence just sounds odd to me, shoot maybe I'm wrong. Anyways keep it up bro!
There were a lot more Democrats vying for the nomination, and there was a good chance for a brokered convention similar to 1912 and 1924.
Is it me or did you re-record your sign off? Triggered my OCD ha - in all seriousness though this is a fantastic series, will be sad when it's done
LOL thank you so much. I'm glad you've been here for the trip. Are you talking about when I say, "I'll see you for the next election, buddy?" If so, you may be surprised to find out I do a brand new recording for that each time.
Yeah that's what I'm talking about. Wow! OK I had no idea - I thought it was the same piece of audio every time, I will now have to dip back and listen at high volume for the subtle differences!
I also swore it was the exact same. I think I want a montage of every time Br. Beat says it now.
32 president of the 32 election what a coincidence.
McDonalds customers in 1932 be like “John Nance Garner sent me”
4:50 Travis Scott moment
It's worth noting that my boy William z foster ran for president in this election
The only reason I remember Hoover is because he was mentioned in Home Alone 2.
Another President was in that movie. :)
I only remember him because of the Hoovervilles
That license plate on the wooden wagon.
cool video!
4:02 if only people could see the tension between both sides today
Yes because they didn’t want Hooper Hooper anymore I want to Theodore Roosevelt I mean Franklin
4:29 Since 1860*
he said 1916 it just sounded like sixty
Hoover wasn’t a bad President he was actually pretty good and he might have been able to end it faster
Hoover was the fucking worst. Fuck him.
if you could go back in time and become a president the president that I will choose would be Herbert Hoover
What would you do differently?
1:46 Oops..
