I have to say this was a GREAT video, i am new to RC SAILING, NOT RC itself and your videos are AWESOME. Wish the camera man was not so shaky. Thanks for these RIGGING tips as they help me finish my DRAGONFLITE95. The rigging has been a little tricky for a person like me who has NEVER done any rigging.
Hi great ideas here, you will find that if you use a small drop of super glue on your string in the place you want to cut it, then letting it dry will help you have a cleaner cut and produces a short section of stiff and straight string that will be easier to thread trough small holes. :)
Thanks a lot Consumerwil, your videos have been very enlightening and have helped me to succesfully rig my Affinity (which is very similar).Best wishes
I have other boats that all have Shrouds. So picking them up by the mast is no problem. Not much holding the mast down on the DF. Any issues using the mast? My other boats have no above deck rigging. Seems much simpler then these elaborate rigging. Im not racing this new DF65 .
Hi first of all thanks for the video. Quick question is it fundamental to glue the long mast to the short mast and to the mast fitting tube? I haven't done it yet but I'm not gonna race it out anything. I did however glue all the eyelets. I'm half way through building it now... P. S. Those knots are tiny 😂
Hi mate, I love the depth of colour you got on the keel fins over a black base. Could you share how you did this please? Keen to get similar results when my DF65 arrives next week. Thanks
Nice paintjob and stuff. A pity though that i don't really see what you do with the rigging, but i guess i'll find that out myself, will buy one deffo :D Did you try out the stock kit sails and can you give any comparison to the fast sails?
+Eteokles81 Thanks for the comments. The rigging is as per the manual. I did do a sail compare with FAST, Carr and Stock. Subscribe and look for that video. I'll have a video for HOTrcsails soon too.
+consumerwil Found both Videos in the mean time, but it's really hard to see a difference in speed for me, so what do you think of it, is the difference as day-and-night that you would not recommend sailing it stock for a beginner? Especially in light wind?
The stock sails are actually quite good and have move sail area too. For a beginner, use those first and get a good feel for the boat. Learn the racing rules with a club, learn to setup the sails and rigging, and then look for sails when the stock ones stretch too much. Enjoy your DF65 .. its a great sailing boat :)
Excellent presentation….many thanks..2024
Thanks for taking the time. I get my first one Thursday and I'm planning on following your suggestions pretty closely.
Thanks John, please make sure you read the updated rules before too :)
Beautiful Dragon Forces... well done!

Love the wind vane idea! But, don’t put anymore weight above the deck.
Nice video! What was the wire you were using to pull the strings? Does the paint slow the boat down at all? Thx
Hi, the wire is a braided strand stainless wire. Paint won't slow the boat down because you look fast! :P

Any plans to move the battery to the middle?
Yes, I have a 700mah LiFe receiver pack with washer weight. I am working on an updated video :)
please do not put weight on top of mast, the less weight at the top of the mast the better, the top of the mast is a pendulum = slow
