A symphony of bells

- 23rd April 07, for one hour only, a cacophony of bells rang out across the city from different locations to mark the 800th anniversary of Liverpool.
The event, including the ominous chimes of composer Llorenc Barber atop the Philharmonic hall, were captured on a rain drenched St Georges day using 4 cameras spread across the city. If you're lucky you will catch sight of a specter.
Filmed by Markus Soukup, Sam Meech, Tim Brunsden, Steve Clarkson. Post-production by Pixeltrick.co.uk
What a great piece.... and a very good idea to have it in B&W.
I attended Barber's concert for Innsbruck in 1993, I think there were 23 churches at work. It was extraordinary, a very "full" sound, which also had to do with Innsbruck's being wedged between high mountains. He had stuck the Blue Danube in there somewhere as a motif. I was actually reporting on the Barber is also an enchanting person, extremely committed to his bells!
A really lovely piece. Very atmospheric, and the ten minutes flew by. (BRASSEYE, I was alerted to this link for the same reason you comment on it, but I'm afraid it is simply a streak of rain on the lens and the camera being moved slightly, with the lo-res of UA-cam 'adding' the rest).
Great piece. Very moving.
There is something weird going on at 6mins17secs. Very spooky.
Nice job.
I never thought I’d hear firing at Liverpool Cathedral
