No...but GTR was too front heavy which strained the front tires and brakes on downhill race and gave advantage to lighter and agile AE86 to shine
any other places GTR would absolutely demolish AE86

nah, the whole point of initial d is how good takumi (the character jay is playing) and the AE86 is at drifting, more specifically on the downward slopes. you can see right from the beginning that on a straight road, the gtr easily crushes the ae86 in terms of raw horsepower
