- Kappa Mikey is one of my favorite shows ever. In this video I ask the creator of Kappa Mikey, Larry Schwarz questions about his career, the production of the show, and even how they made the theme song.

I really wish Larry would at least bring the show to streaming if he’s not currently planning for a revival, I REEALLY wanna watch this again 😭😭😭
I wish we heard about how he got Sean Schemmel to voice Gonard. My mind was blown as a kid when I realized he was Goku. Great interview!
Gonard is so great in the show, I think he’s the perfect example of how the characters are really goofy and kinda dumb at times but are super talented actors which is always funny to see haha
I’ve been wishing for a Blu-Ray release with behind the scenes content like this… hearing him struggle to remember exactly how things happened kills me. Document it all and I’ll buy it!

I think it would be a lot more popular because of how popular and mainstream anime is in the west nowadays
The network aired episodes out of order from the order the Animation Collective made them, but I do know that therer's a whole side story of one episode that confirms Guano is a guy in a suit, and his suit becomes dirty and they try to figure out a way to clean it without Guano wanting to get out of it. That was produced before A Christmas Mikey. I do not remember which episode aired first though.
Thank you so much for this interview! I watched Kappa Mikey on the german nickelodeon channel as a teen and was blown away. I had never seen anything like it at the time and I fell into the anime fandom just before it aired, so it fit perfectly into my niche. The german voice actor for Mikey also voiced Ron Stoppable over here! Sadly I can't find the german dub anywhere and I'm not even sure, if the second season ever aired. Still I have many fond memories of this show and it's one of my favorites. So I'm always happy to find people, who treasure the show like I do.
Aw, thanks for watching! Yeah it was definitely one of my favorite shows too it was right around that time where I was really interested in anime but I couldn’t find a lot, it the show still holds up so well for me because of how funny it is to me, even today. The show is all available in English on the website internet archive, if you google “kappa mikey episode 1 internet archive” you can at least find the whole show in English!
I haven't seen Larry in a while, years ago he got me a cameo in the kappa mikey episode "live lilymu"

If only Larry should make the Kappa Mikey reboot because this show is part of my childhood and the best Nickelodeon cartoon beside My Life As A Teenage Robot, Danny Phantom and Avatar!
You are not the last! I literally did not know that until this video. 😱 I didn’t know I missed the Christmas episode. Now I have to find it! Also, learning why he was called Kappa Mikey and why the dancing sushi and how it was related to his name was just so fulfilling. 🍣

Three Delivery is such a tragedy because of the cliffhanger ending, I guess. 😢 Kappa Mikey is such a good show; we need that Kappa Mikey movie where Mikey and his friends move to America to face some new villain. There is an American animator who made fan art of this what-if film idea years ago. It was pretty good.
If a Kappa Mikey reboot happens in the near future, we should definitely get a recap and explanation of the events of the past show. They should mention popular anime like One Piece, Demon Slayer, Undead Unluck, Mashle, and some Netflix live-action anime films and shows that have been coming out lately. There are so many cool jokes you could parody even in the modern world. Mikey with an iPhone would be a culture shock for him, as he would ask, “Where are the buttons?” lol 😂

@@Colby2D and Japanese animators and mangaka loving this show is a culture shock for me. I just hope in a couple of years Larry plans to put his series on a independent streaming service for creators by creators he earns that money and fame for being one of a rare creators to work on many animated shows in his lifetime
As the years go by and I start to forget about Kappa Mikey and Three Delivery I always had a dream or a short scene in my head where I could have sworn I have seen these characers before. So I looked up forgotten 2000's cartoons and finally I found this, Three Delivery, and Code Lyoko. It took me over a decade to find these and finally finished them. I still have yet to finish Mikey, but now... I'm just glad I was able to relieve my childhood. And as long as I'm still here and hopefully not have alzheimers in the future. I will never forget. And I hope to meet more survivors out there and maybe bring them back with me
That’s really sweet💙 things like that make the preservation and archiving all the more important, and I believe the crew actually uploaded all the episodes directly to internet archive
Every now and then I always think about this show, I was about 4-6 years old when this was airing new episodes, absolutely LOVED everything about the show, the art, animation, weird funny stories, honestly shaped me into who I am today!
The show still makes me laugh out loud when watching it. I love when shows combine art styles of characters, especially if they have a reason to like they do here, but most of all it’s just really funny 🙂

I still wanted Mikey Simon playable in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl! He deserved to be playable! Since the playable Nickelodeon characters in the sequel have each of their own Final Smashes like in the Smash Bros. games, Mikey Simon's Final Smash is he gonna turned into Kappa Mikey and goes actions. If they really make a second wave, now they gonna invited Mikey Simon as a playable character!
I really wished you talked about his stunt as a comedian and a child actor, and his time in the toy bizz and the production of the show and it’s lack of merch
Also I’m working on a kappa Mikey retrospective since this sparked me to work on it again

I think at the moment he is focusing more on his book series at the moment, but maybe someday! 😄

While this was a good interview, i think it would've been good to ask if he's going to reboot the show.
Thank you. I believe at the moment it isn’t a priority with his book series being currently published, but as much as I think more would be cool, I think it is very unlikely unfortunately. Maybe things would change in like 5 years or so though
