So much hard work, dedication, and skills involved in the making of a watch strap. I can't thank you enough for showing the whole process. And after all that hard work you put that gem of a strap on a fossil. The strap deserves a better watch my friend.
Thanks, I hope to make one for a much nicer watch someday. 😉
Have to say this is a first explains leather and thickness using thank you about time some talked and explained the process.
Looking forward for some more strap videos.
Chris, I just found your UA-cam channel, and I love it. I am mostly a woodworker, but I've been really interested in leatherworking for a while. Your videos are such high quality, and the stuff you make looks fantastic! I hope you stick with it. I really enjoy the beautiful things you create!
John Paul Awesome! I'm blessed you to hear you like the channel. I also love what I do and look forward to making more. Thanks for watching!
Спасибо огромное за ваши мастер классы,вы огромной души человек и у вас золотые руки.С уважением Светлана.
Thank you!
Awesome step by step education.. I have never made anything out of leather but I will now and use your videos as a reference. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video and Excellent strap
I love the Color!
Great tutorial, thanks!
after like 10 vids looking for a tutorial, this is the first where someone is actually talking and not just playing junk music or happens to be a mute working with leather.
😂
Good video always. although not hi end strap, but nice instruction and without any templates. I like your glue(UHL of Germany), which is not found in the shops anymore, but I saw online, but expensive with shipping cost. I have one, which i bought many be 6-10 years ago. this glue doesn't make messy , but It has toxic smells. also I know and observed you are professional craftsman. but use cheap tools(Chisels).
Very useful video! I just started leathercrafting hobby and I learned a lot from this. Two questions: how thick is the leather and what size of tread did you use? Is it Fil au Chinois linen? Thanks in advance!
Hi, nice work. What kind of glue are you using( glue stick?), and where can it be purchased.
God bless.
hi I am watchmaker myself..I loved your vedio ..thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing, I like this video because the band you made is padded. Where can I get the rotary sander and the wooden stick that you used for burnishing?
Pinkie Vespa Thanks! If you're in the US you can buy the rotary tool at Walmart or Lowes. Also check out www.dremel.com
The wood burnisher is made by www.proedgeburnishers.com

Hello Fischer, thanks for the tutorial. Do you need to seal the dye with a finish? Will the dye transfer ?
Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it. I have been to your web site but can't find the patterns for this watch band as mentioned in your description. Can you please show link to patterns.

Any chance you can provide guidance on what size edge beveler you used?
Size 00 Barry King. Sizes will vary with brand
Awesome video. I just wish you had been as thorough with your instructions after the midpoint as you were during the start of the video.
Where can I get something to hole punch my designer wrist band? Something good quality
great stuff, thank you
Hi ! Thanks for this very helpful video. Just a question... where did you get this amazing dremmel-ed edge burnisher ? Amazing tool ! :)
I got the dremel burnishing tip from proedgeburnishers.com. They are well made and produce great results. Thanks!
hello you can find out where you bought the glue Contact Cement Stick
Which dye do you use with your marker?
Merci, c'est super !
I notice in your video you use two different types of contact glue. could you let us know what they are. also what brand of slicking fluid do you use?
I use KS bond contact cement when I need a really strong adhesive. I use UHU for less demanding jobs because it's easier to apply and applies cleaner. I used edge magic by Bob Park for the edges slicking.
Thank you!!
ty for sharing, but what is the purpose of the tiny hole in the back of both bands like the one in 11:03?
alessandro c. Hi, some watch spring bars have a open n close handle on them for easier attachment to the watch. the hole on the tabs was for that handle. Although I rarely see this type of springbar, but this watch happened to have one...
ok, ty for the answer.
Hello Fischer , can I check what type of leather you use for your leather band for the watch strap inner surface ?
5oz Veg tanned leather
@@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan Hi can I check how much must you sand the 5 oz/2mm leather to with the rotary sander ?
@@ernesttan6157 Hi, I do it by eye. I just keep sanding until I get a nice taper.
Hi there.I would like to know the type of glue and grinder you have used?Thank.
Uhu contact cement stick and I used a Dremel with a flex shaft as a sander.
Fischer Workshops thank you, I don't notifications so I didn't see your reply. I've learned a lot so far from all your videos
Amazing
I’m starting a watch strap business but I don’t know where to buy my leather pls help out
Depends on where you live? It's best to find a local supplier. If you are in the States you can google leather supply stores. If you are outside the US I would inquire from facebook leathercrafting groups. These groups have friends in the industry from all over the world that I'm sure can help you with suggestions.
How wide is the filler leather if I'm making a 22mm strap?
The filler leather I used was 2mm thick and was just wide enough to fit into my stitch lines.
Fischer Workshops cool thanks for the info! I’m just getting into leather working and was wondering if the were any defaulted measurements I need to adhere too. Lol thanks again.
What UHU glue are u using.
Uhu contact cement stick
what kind of edge marker are you using?
Bob Park Custom Leather sells them. They are empty markers you can fill with dye or stain and use to apply to the edges. Works great! You can contact Bob at hidepounder@gmail.com
What type and brand of adhesive you are using?
Don Kenner UHU contact cement.
