  • An all original, unrestored 1955 Chevy 210 Post with only...23747 miles!!!!
    And the story goes...
This 1955 210 was originally bought in August of 1955 in Portland, OR. It was purchased by a single woman who drove this '55 until she was 97 years old. She was a fairly famous hat maker and drove the car back and forth to work. Her daily drive to and from her hat shop was 7 miles each way. After her death the car was sold by her neighbors, seeing as she had no relatives or children. The current owner purchased the car in the mid '80's. The only part of the car that has been restored is the paint. It repainted in a 2 stage job around 1990.
This 1955 210 post is a shining example of a Survivor.

Good thing Chevy made a lot of T-5s. When you think of how many were totaled in accidents, destroyed in demo derbies, cut up for gassers, deserted in farm fields, etc., it's amazing there are any left.

Rare color combo I like it. I'd drop an LS with overdrive in it and install AC with some better looking wheels and tires. Then just roll that odometer over.

Back in the day this car would have been referred to as a “2-door sedan”. Back then all cars, whether 2 or 4-door, that had a so-called “B pillar” were called sedans. Any car that had no “B pillar” was referred to as a “hardtop”.

The intro stated, straight six with 3-speed automatic. The only auto-trans offered that year, was the 2-speed Powerglide.

Ummmm, I didn't know 1955 Chevrolet 210's had chrome wheels and 3 speed automatics.
    Musta been dang rare options.
So ALL original it ain't. (I didn't even mention the paint in the description)

The shift indicator under the speedometer indicates a 2-speed PG.

"If" that's the original paint it looks surprisingly good, however that is an original paint combo (India Ivory over Navajo Tan), I had a 2dr 210 the exact same color. Regardless of its short comings in originality it's still a nice specimen. 😉👍

Actually you could get the 2 speed powerglide with overdrive option. My dad has this option in his car.

Not really, Shane. The O/D was only available with the manual tranny. All models could be ordered with the O/D.

If it's got a three speed automatic, it's not original.

    Just now seeing this video.
I have the same exact car in my garage waiting to be restored. Same exact original colors too.
It’s off the frame which the frame has been hot dipped and powder coated.
I bought my car in 1969 for $100, smoky six cylinder three speed on the column. Replaced first engine with a 265 then a 327 with solid lift cam FI heads high rise intake with Holly 650 duel pumper electric fuel pump and headers. Stock rear end and stock transmission converted to floor shift. At 16 that’s all I could afford and did it all myself.
This video brought back good memories and more excited to restore mine.
