Changing the Guard Malta GC

  • The new guard together with the AFM Military Band leaves Valletta City Gate at 10.00 hrs and should be in the forecourt of the Presidential Palace in St. Georges Square at around 10.15 a.m. Once there, a formal ceremony in which sentries providing ceremonial guard duties outside the Palace are relieved by a new batch of sentries. After the changing of the guard, the AFM Military Band will perform a display lasting about 45 minutes, after which the band will head back to City Gate together with the old guard.

    I’ve seen this in person a few years back. As a former member of the British Army, I thought it was spot on . Just like a British parade.

    Unlike some former British colonies, Malta still embraces its British heritage and that should be commended:)

      Yes quite agree, as even the uniforms look similar to the Royal Marines

    I recognised the National Emblem March. It seems to me that the march is extremely popular in the U.S AND abroad. Furthermore the British Grenadier March.
