I listened to an older version of this kickoff song for about 6 hours straight in my car driving to a life-changing Christian conference back in 2007. That was where the EDM worship vision was cemented. After telling a friend my vision the conference speaker at that moment literally repeated what I said word for word. God wants real worship and he's going to make it happen, and let us all have a blast doing it.

Thank you. Yes there is certainly a shortage of soul grabbing worship music, but also in the EDM world a shortage of just genuine DJing. No one does that anymore, the blending and transitioning of tracks into something bigger than the sum of the parts. I remember in the late 90s that was what defined a DJ. Now it's about producing a track, arranging a concert, and hitting play. At least they still blend at festivals.

Most of this and what I mix is some form of House and some form of Trance. All of those genres are under EDM. House music started it all, and was its own genre before anyone dreamed up "EDM" to be a catch all. About feeling this being too chill, I understand. Unfortunately major producers have almost universally set their BPM clock to about 128. Just 6 years ago and before, it was often at 140. 140 was pretty common. Now it's rare.

I've enjoyed this kind of music - electronic, synthesized, etc, since a very long time ago. Think "Tangerine Dream" and newer. I like Subdustrial a lot now. However, it's hard to find good lyrics in that genre, let alone God-glorifying lyrics.
Believe me I understand. Grew up on a good range of stuff. New Order all the way to Front 242. Blue Monday was a key song that got me more into all this. Always loved the music and it motivated me, but would have to cringe sometimes with the lyrics.

Trance & Progressive House. The dreamier stuff with sweeping sounds is usually Progressive Trance or Trance. Same beat without and sometimes more funk is usually always some variant of House.

Their music however is created to be beautiful, powerful, great, and convey Godly emotions. The purpose of the mix is to take that substance and use it for the Glory of God. Because "Christian Music" and "Christian EDM" is largely missing all of this, and Christian in name and lyrics only.
