9/11/2001: "Heat of passion bursts in flames out in the streets Cold glass towers turn to dust beneath my feet I open up my eyes and scream It's not the way it's supposed to be Will there be a world at all when I wake up Monday morning" This song was relevant when it was written, still two decades later, still two more decades later...
This band not only put out three of THEE BEST LP's In Rock music, but their songs were also challenging, deep and brilliantly choreographed & they WERE SOLID STEAK! No milk for me, I prefer the fine dining of the Awesome Audio they put so much work into. Hands down those three LP's were some of the BEST rock anyone will EVER hear on this planet!!! BRILLIANT!!!
Prodigal never got the attention they deserved! Great music with really thoughtful, creative, clever lyrics! "Just Like Real Life" was the first album I could even purchase in my area instead of having to make do with copies of copies of copies off someone's actual vinyl record traded around at Summer camp. But I still have all those cassettes, including my commercial copy of JLRL! And i still go back and listen to them sometimes, though the cassettes are starting to fail after 30+ years. One of the groups that always leaves me wishing they had released more albums!
This band had intelligence, tight rifts, the music makes you think, it's a sad world, and 'It's The Future Now!!" God, I wish this band was still around, apparently, the lead guy died a few years back!! Share these videos, for a world that needs it "It's New To You!" Still could be a hit today, even against the crappy artists out there these days...
I think we need to consider that someone was probably producing/directing this video and probably told him what to do during a lot of it. I don't get the vibe that Loyd thought he was cooler than he was. Don't know for sure but wanted to bring up that alternate perspective. "Love always believes the best in people."
While he may not have been a teen heartthrob like Bon Jovi or Billy Idol, the fact that he's unashamed to dance around like a big baby faced teddy bear in a dark themed Christian music video in the mid '80s makes him way cooler than them in my opinion.
Love the band and the electric music, although their first album had far too few rockers on it. This video--Loyd seems to think he's cooler than he is, but that's okay, there's plenty of genuine "cool factor" too!
this song still holds up...loved this band- great songwriting and social commentary...
