Momotaro trying to play with Kintaro.
Momotaro gently bites Kintaro over and over again.
This is one of the affection expressions when Momotaro is playing.
But if this situation continues for a while, Gentaro, who is worried about Kintaro, comes to his aid.

⭐️モモタロウ Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
momotaro was born at Ueno zoo in Tokyo on jul.3,2000 and came to our zoo on Oct.18,2010.
He is beautiful and handsome ,the silverback of our troop.
He is a little timid,and scared of new things.
He sometimes shows lovely behaviors that melt our hearts.
He is making efforts to be a good dad for his two sons.
⭐️ゲンキ Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Genki was born at our zoo on Jun,24,1986.
After mating with several males without a pregnancy she found her perfect partner Momotaro.
Now she is a loving and caring mom for her two sons.
She sometimes behaves boldly,yet she can also be sensitive.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️ゲンタロウ Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at our zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
Everyone immediately agrees that he is a very adorable boy.
⭐️キンタロウ Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at our zoo on Dec.19,2018.
He has big bright eyes and long eyebrows.
He is growing fine ,being loved by his parents and brother.
He love to play by himself,with his father.
He is still small, but smart and strong-willed.
His cute appearance and behavior attract everyone's interest.

This is the video of the week. This one gets a blue ribbon. I love watching Momo play with Kintaro like he did. He doesnt do it often, but this time he put his whole heart into it. Then watching both boys running after their dad (in play) just made me smile. Gorilla World, you were there filming at the perfect time. Thank you!

It's refreshing to watch these guys interacting, their personalities fits them individually. Gentaro didn't have to leave when his dad was watching him eat. Nice prescious moments between Momotaro and baby Kintaro, and Genki still protective of the little one ❤️

Is there no way to get sustainable grass in their enclosure without having them destroy it? I guess the only way is to possibly enlarge the enclosure and start grass patches that they can’t readily pull out and eat. What a feeling of wonder it would inspire to be able to walk on it, possibly eat it, and provide comfort and relief. They certainly deserve it. Possibly help Genki’s emotional state and therefore a new baby? know I’m reaching for the stars here but a large living or dead sturdy tree trunk for natural climbing, playing, and sitting without bars over their heads. A go fund me page perhaps? I have several suitable large pines here but how to get them to you when the time comes? From a long follower from Texas, Miss Cindy y’all

2:40 idk if Gentaro knew if they were playing or not, but it sure looks like Gentaro didn't like Momo throwing Kintaro like he did... With Momo's unpredictable behavior, its probably hard for Gentaro to know when dad is playing or when dad is upset.

Does anyone know if in nature the gorilla brothers are no longer seen forever?
These guys are constantly stealing the same mats, blankets ajd box from each other. They should have more than this. Zoo makes thousands per day. Surely they can go and get more blankets from the thrift shops and mats. More fruits please. All I see these guys eat is grass and leaves. I hope the zoo has extra land that grows extra foods for these guys.

Gentaro was fine until dad tossed his baby brother. Then he went after him. There wasn't really any serious aggression though. Everybody is protective of the youngest member of the family.

I love how he tries to engage Gentaro at first but Gentaro seems confused & just moves ( maybe because he was eating 🤣) Momotaro definitely view's Gentaro as a capable young adult male now but it's still "his boy" & he loves him
It's heartbreaking that it will end up being because of this that this wonderful family will eventually be split up. Gentaro is nearly of the age Momotaro was when Gentaro was conceived, there's no room for 2 Silverbacks & Gentaro needs a "mate" of his own.
Everyone will be extremely sad when it happens but Kintaro who will be losing his best friend & chief playmate as well as his beloved big brother will be devastated

Pero si ellos lo an explicado muchas veces porque no les dan frutas!!!!!!! Dicen que antes alimentaban a Genki con frutas y por eso perdió la mayoría de los dientes y como no tiene dientes no puede masticar bien por eso es panzona. Las frutas y algunos vegetales tienen mucha azúcar y les producen caries. Ellos les tratan de dar una alimentación bien similar a la de la jungla.

WHY is he doing that. Thats not playing.
He wasn't coming to help. He offered his butt to get some attention. He used to get almost all of Momotaros attention. Before Kentaro Momotaro turned to Gentaro and now Gentaro is doing it to his brother. Gentaro used to hide when he was penetrating his brother but they've got the hey little boy sit on my lap and tell me what you want for Christmas. In wild troups the males have to have a sexual release that serves as bonding while the Silverback mates and father most of the children but there is some sneaking around. Then the female has been seen to mate with the Alpha just to disguise the child as his. Most of this has been studied in the wild. During covid they studied captive gorillas. Its interesting the behavior affected them. Im looking forward to that published doc.
