It was recalibrated and flew straight and level in gyro but dived as soon as it was switched off. The control surfaces were neutral. With the wings torn off I could see that the elevator push rod was in the inner hole giving only a small travel. Previous Rangers also had this problem but I put it down to my lack of skill.
Got mine from Amazon, with discount, sent free to Colombia. Flew this morning for the first time. GREAT! Everything a beginner needs. The auto return feature wouldn't enable at the field, but did work on the dining room table yesterday during table testing, but inconsistent at best. Mine beeps almost constantly, 4 for range, that gets annoying.
I'm glad you got one! The best beginner plane I've had in the air. The beeps do get annoying and most of them do some type of beep ;-) Thank goodness my TX16S doesn't do that.
Who's a Lucky Boy? I dig My Seven Fifties, Vert Power is outta control and They Glide in any wind, Off My Cliffs. I want one. Unreal review thanks GCRC.
Thanks Jono! I'm very lucky to have received some very nice flying planes indeed ;-) Is that 750 out of production? I looked around and didn't see any stock.
I bought one after your review having had a few 3 channel ones. While it flies fine with gyro but doesn’t do stunts. As soon as I use expert it dives and doesn’t pull out. Managed to wreck it today although hot glue should work. Any suggestions as to why it changes so much?
You might re-calibrate the gyro. I do that before I fly each plane for the 1st time. Also, make sure your control surfaces are in a neutral position in manual mode. Once in a while I have to reposition the servo arms.
Maybe 4-channel gliders with ailerons for beginners are more stable horizontally thanks to the gyro than 3-channel birds with rudder control? And what do you think, is this bird (in beginner mode) a solid park flyer even in a bit of wind? I am afraid of flying in wind, especially in turbulence
Yes, I would say it can handle a 10mph (16kph) wind just fine, I've had (2) kids in the Family ages 7 & 10 fly it in 6-8mph wind and they did just fine. It was their first time flying an RC Plane ;-) Any more than a 10mph wind would make make it difficult for the motor to fly back against the wind. It's the best beginner plane I've flown.
I've gotten so many of these 1S LIPOs from all the Micro Planes I've reviewed. I found these and they are dirt cheap and come with a charger but check and make sure they're not too long at 46mm. I think I've used some of these in this plane. 5PCS 3.7V 500mAh 25C Li Battery with 5 in 1 Charger amzn.to/3X7zebq
I got mine with your code recently and I've ran about 6 or 7 packs through it and love it! I'm literally just about to open my Radio Master TX16s 4 in 1 and I assume this will bind to it just like the 400mm warbirds?
EEK... almost $30 shipping... Sorry... too Expensive IMO... $223.50 Cnd Shipped. I can get a Bix 3 PNP for that price... BTW the Coupon only works in the USA.

Sounds like you found the problem.

How would you compare this to the areo scout?
Unfortunately, I've never had the opportunity to fly the AeroScout but it sure does look nice.
Where did you find the 500 mAh batteries?

@@GroundControlRC The long ones would fit in the Ranger, but not my other Leambes. Too bad Amazon won't ship this item to Colombia.

According to a reviewer over at Banggood, these can be bound to the same controller as the warbirds.
It sure will using Protocol v761 / 4CH.
I'm glad you got one.
Absolutely fantastic little plane ;-)
is this a brushed motor?
Yes, 10mm Hollow Cup Brushed Motor according to the specs.

Bummer!
Is that via Banggood or Amazon?

@@GroundControlRC BG.... I used to spend a lot of $$ over there before they changed their Shipping to Canada Policies...
Same with HobbyKing.
@@lasersbee I thought maybe Amazon had better shipping options.
The link I provided above is for Amazon.
@@GroundControlRC The Link I see is for BG... 3rd line in the video description...
@@lasersbee I posted it in the comment.
