  • Instructions for the gearbox that appeared in my former video of the sequential stepper.
    This is a v1.0 of this gearbox, so there is plenty of room for improvment, probably you will see more developed versions in the future.
    Couldn't use half of my equipment to make this video so let me apologise for the quality, still I hope you will be able to build it.
    The gearbox operates with the well known ratios:
    1. 1:0.2
    2. 1:0.33
    3. 1:0.66
    4. 1:1
    Red connectors are the inputs, yellow ones are the outputs.
    If you are using it in a motorised model please keep in mind that it can take a certain torque, but at this stage of development it has its own limits. Gearing up the drivetrain comes with higher rev and lower torque, this should extend its qorque resistance
    You can find additional info in the stepper video:

    i wanted to ask, what is the price of rc motors? are they really so expensive?

      @Attika  8 років тому

      Here in the UK can buy them for 25-30 pounds each on ebay or bricklink. I leave the judgement on you if that is expensive.

    in this using Sariel's Lego Workshops idea in the stepper :0

      ?? Probably I misunderstood you, but if you mean that I was using Sariel's stepper, then you're wrong. This stepper is my own idea, presented in my former video : ua-cam.com/video/f-0gWTP8Cns/v-deo.html
      Sariel's stepper works on a different principal, there isn' much common in the two.

    what is the difference between a sequential and a non sequential gearbox?

    • @Attika
      @Attika  7 років тому +3

      the non sequential gear changer has that H pattern where you can choose any gear anytime like in normal cars manual cars, so you can put from let say 4th gear back to 2nd without having the 3rd engaged between. The sequential one has a gearstick moving only back and forth and changes the gears after each other one by one like in rallye cars. When you push the stick it changes one gear down and by pulling it changes one gear up. It changes faster but can't skip a gear. If you are in 4th you have to push the stick twice to get to 2nd.

    Does this work in a recent car?

      I've built a non motorized 1:8 scale sportcar, but did not make a video of it. It has a limited torque resistance, so if you wanna use it in a motorized model be carefull. ;-)
