"The Promise" by When in Rome. Synth cover, keys tutorial, backing part

All credit to the members of When in Rome for crafting this great song! this video is for educational purposes, to show how some of the backing synth strings are played (the chord structure).
My band (Nite Wave) was fortunate enough to share the stage with When in Rome founding member Clive Farrington a year ago and got to perform this song as well as Heaven Knows with him. Clive's a fantastic guy and great musician!
The part played here is the part I play when we do this live; our other keyboardist handles the piano parts. I dreamed up the left hand part as a complimentary backing part to go along with the song as it builds and took some cues and portions from what's in the song already as well as from Clive's current track arrangement, particularly the descending line in the back half of the song --- seems to fit pretty well with our lineup and even with the original recording.
