    Very informative and you sure know your products in detail.
    I own the Powertank 17 since 4/19, almost 5 years of powering my AVX mount, charging cellphones, providing red light at ground level around my rig, and even spotlight. When not used for astronomy, it provides battery power to my dual band VHF/UHF base station radio. This way, it is used once or twice a week and recharged when needed. It's ready to trickle charge my car, if needed. (doubtful). I've even listened to the radio music while observing. I just purchased a Celestron 6SE and can power both mounts via cigarette lighter now.
    I respect the increased safety, lower weight and longevity of all Celestron power source options. But if i take care of this 17, I'll have certainly gotten my money's worth over time for all the safeguards and emergency features it supplies.
    I had completely forgotten that Celestron supplies a cigarette lighter power cord with the unit that can be used to power a second device such as a dew heater or another mount. Did you know it can be used to charge the PT17 from the cigarette lighter in your car? If you're going to or at a star party and need to recharge the PT17 with DC, use that cigarette lighter plugged into your car and the charging port. Just be sure your car lights are off so no one throws rocks at you.😂😂😂
    Great products for everyone from beginners to power hungry astrophotographers.

      The lights on all the power tanks are very handy during power outages, I use them as often to illuminate rooms during power outages as I do to power my telescopes.

    The PowerTank7 could have been an AWESOME product if CELESTRON installed a LiFePO4 battery. Hint-hint to CELESTRON. I think they could even hit the Amateur Radio market to power portable radio operations. Ergonomically an excellent design.

    I have Powertank 7. And i will just replace it's battery with LiFePO and tungsten lamps with LEDs.

    Hello - I just bought the 6AMPs Power tank to power my Star Adventurer, and Canon 700D. My question is I only have one USB port - so is there an adapter I can get so the DC can be split into 3 USB ports so I can run a dew heater, the mount and the Camera? thanks ! :-)

    So the acid batteries have to be charged once to maintain the cells, but doesn’t this product stay on shelves or in a warehouse or distribution center for months to years?

    Hi, I'm having problem recharging my powertank from the mains and the small charging lights dont come on either. I have checked the 2amp fuse but not sure about the 15amp as it is just a button that I can press in but doesn't stay in. What could be the problem?

      I think they are catering for all levels. I would describe myself as a full time visual astronomer and I use the Lithium Power Tank Pros (13 amp hours) to power my CPC1100, my RASA 11 & CGXL 1400 remotely where mains power is not available.

      They come with the Lithium Power Tanks or you can buy them individually here:

    You have to spend so much money to be able to collimate/tune your telescope

    • @HollomanUFOLanding
      @HollomanUFOLanding 2 роки тому +3

      Collimating an SCT telescope costs no money at all, all done by eye. Collimtaing a Newtonian is a very minimal cost and applies to all Newtonian telescopes, not just Celestron.

    Dont fool for these expensive products. first 2 power tanks old lead acid tech , adverts did not say you can only use hald the battery capacity before damaging the the battery.. The lithium packs are way over priced for what they are and offer. the current range of solar generator power tanks use better battery technology and have way more uses then these packs. yes will have to pay but when you buy 2 of the top range products you are in same range of these solar generators. My persoal choice would be the anker power house new tanks. 2000--5000 cycles on lifepo4 battery technology.
