Hi, I have never heard of this issue, there are Asics showrooms that provide gait analysis, perhaps it would be best if you get your gait/running form analysed.
Both are really good, but depends on the usage.. Boston 12 is a daily trainer n caters to a wide pace range, adios 8 is purely for top end speed workouts/races..
For shin splits we would actually recommend exercises to develop strength n longevity of your shin bones and muscles surrounding that area. Shin splints happen due to overuse or sudden increase of efforts. We wouldn’t recommend high stack cushioned shoes coz for 800m it would be counterproductive.
