So true, especially when going from a higher speed to lower speed and it starts popping. I just couldn’t get that on video. It most definitely sounds amazing while riding it. I get many more people giving me a thumbs up.
I noticed you still have the cat on. I run a SC project cat delete, with SC project CRT. Huge difference. More power and throttle response after taking off the cat. Also louder.
Very true about the power. My dealer told me that if I take the cat off it will void the extra service plan I got, and that’s a huge chunk of money I would loose in free services. As it is now, I love the way the bike runs and definitely not missing any power.
I usually ride with music in the helmet. So the sound isn’t bad. Without music, it can get a little annoying. I guess most aftermarket pipes will do that.
Sir new to the channel, looking to Buy this bike and some extras. You said that you research a lot before buying. Other than looks and or weight why did you choose this one ? More Top end, better acceleration etc? Last how much you paid? Thanks
@@myhypermotard8351 I jumped to ask the question BEFORE noticing your installation Video. The reason I ask about the odometer reading is because i don't believe in immediately switching out a stock exhaust before using it. Thanks for all the Hypo videos that you've posted. I'm in the market for a Duc, and this has become the 3rd model that I'm considering. I sat on the V4 Street Fighter and found it too wide and overpowered. The V2 is definitely sweet, but despite reviews saying that it's a good daily; I live in a city that's stop sign hell, and now that California is aflame, most of my riding roads are in ruins. San Francisco is filled with bad drivers, but I think that the Hypo could be short distance fun.
Ramon51650 No problem. Yeah v4 is a serious machine, not so much fun in city stop n go traffic. You will love the Ducati in general, it’s a great brand that has come a long way. The hypermotard is a beast in a different sense, it brings out that bad boy in you trust me. A fun bike to ride for sure. If you plan on doing a lot of miles , I highly recommend the service plans Ducati has. Check out my last video on Q&A. Where I answered this question. Let me know if you have other questions.
@@myhypermotard8351 Thanks for the Q&A video recommendation; I'll watch it immediately. My last bike was a Ducati 888, so I think that people who grouse about engine heat don't realize that it has always been an issue. I got a 3rd degree burn on my back leg, thru leathers, about the size of a 25¢ piece on a 5-day ride in the Trinity Alps, so I'm familiar with some of the quirks. I watch video earlier today about how you clean your bike; you sprayed WD-40 on some parts. I have an Audi TTRS (last of the manual shifts) and rather than spray directly on to the surface; I spray Maguires on a cloth, apply it and follow with a dry one; that way can control how specific the application is. I used WD-40 on the 888, and I cleaned then lubed the chain with it.
Ramon51650 My daughter has a real nice Audi TT. It’s funny you mention the heat, this is another question that came up. I’ve been using the wd40 trick for years, it works well.
Hey man, I am looking into the Austinracing for my hyper 950. Did you consider sc project and if so why did you go with Austin? Seems to me the noise is deeper. Really like how your exhaust came up. Would appreciate your input. Great channel
It idles perfectly . That is something that surprised me after the installation. It runs great without the remap. I was blipping the throttle so you guys could hear it.Thanks for commenting, ride safe.
This is only slip ons. This exhaust is loud, just right. Without De-cat it would be too loud. It was recorded with the GoPro external mic. Thanks for commenting , ride safe..
I almost did, after hearing the SC on another bike . Once I heard the Austin’s I was sold. I guess you can’t go wrong either way. The Austin sound deeper, more gurgle type sound, this is what I was going after.
@@myhypermotard8351 thank you for the reply. Thinking about trading my mv in for one. They just looked tall so was little leary about the height. Seems like plenty of power as well
Exhaust not very good. I have the same bike, I went with the Akrapovic exhaust. I also went with the motovationusa.com rad, oil cooler covers and sliders. The bike is geared why to high for an L-twin. I changed the gearing to 1 down and 3 up. Now I have a bike that lives up to the hype....
The Akrapovic exhaust is really nice as well, I guess it comes down to personal taste. This bike is amazing, it makes me do things I know I shouldn’t be doing. In the next couple of videos I am doing a Q&A from viewers. It may answer other questions you may have. Thank You for commenting and ride safe..
I guess it is different for everyone. I heard them and I actually prefer the Austins. They both sound good , just a different type of sound. The Austins are just a deeper more gurgly sound, this is what I was after. You can’t go wrong either way.. Thank you for commenting.
I guess I’ll have to hear it in person. I have the CR-t SC project on the 821 it’s really deep, loud and gurgly. I listen to the arrow online and didn’t want to get it but a friend told me he had the arrow and it’s really go. SO I bought the arrow for the 939. It’s was better than the SC project. But online it doesn’t some like that. The Austin probably sounds better in person. Anyway. Nice bike. The only thing I didn’t like about the HYPERMOTARD is seat height. You’ll get used to not having a gas gauge 😀. It’s a great bike overall. Oh, the 821 doesn’t have a gear indicator😅
Madara Uchiha Yeah, the height of this bike for me being 5 foot 8 is a bit of a challenge sometimes. I have just gotten used to it. I agree, the video doesn’t really bring out how deep these Austin’s sound. I first watched Videos and liked them. One day I ran into a guy on an older Hyper that had these and I was convinced that this was the sound I was looking for. In person it sounds awesome.
Nice! Thanks for the demonstration. I know that microphones probably don’t do it justice.

Sound great, not too loud. And not obnoxious like some are
I have the rve is that pipe too loud when u get on it.. your duck sounds good now but i dont want mine to be super loud.
I usually ride with music in the helmet. So the sound isn’t bad.
Without music, it can get a little annoying. I guess most aftermarket pipes will do that.
Ok cool thanks. I will look for a different exhaust..
Love the bike and sound and loving your street and neighbourhood 👍🏻
Thanks, the bike is awesome. This street is not far from home. It kind of goes into the desert after this point.

How many miles did you put on your Hyper before deciding to use slip-ons? Did they require and remapping?
I had about 4000 or so miles.
No remap with slip ons needed.

Nice sound, thanks for the video. Quick question can you turn the ABS off on the bike? been considering a 939 or possible 950
I haven’t tried turning the ABS off, not really something I would do.
