Hi Pam, this looks too easy! I used plastic ziplock bags in the past. I'm going to try this method. I love your channel. I am in Zone 9a Houston, TX. Thank you for the peace you are transmitting through your videos
Hi Pam, Thank you for showing us how to go about this. It's very encouraging to see someone else air layer. Helps us to know what we will be facing if we try it. Love your arch and the rose on it is beautiful!!
Hello pam, flower patch lady, oh my goodness how clever, I haven't seen that done this way before, very interesting film,i thought that was lovely, I hope it takes and that you do get to pass it on to your friend. 😊it will be very special, thank-you for showing us all,,hello again to your garden girls, from mine too.bye for now, take good care,,😊
Hi Pam, this looks so easy when you do it. I am definitely going to try it next year on my roses. I have a new DA rose (Teasing Georgia) I planted this year and a single long cane has shot out of it and it must be 10ft long. There are many sprouts all along the cane growing upwards along the arch. Since we get heavy snowfall here can I leave it or do I have to cut it back? I was thinking of wrapping it with burlap and securing it to my fence until spring and then once all risk of frost is gone, take off the wrap. Enjoy the day, cold weather is moving in, perfect gardening weather.
Sounds like you have a good plant. As long as you secure it well it should work along the fence for you. It is worth a shot. It isn't the end of the world if you have to go ahead and remove it later.
My recent Entrance Garden tour shows it failed this time. I have a link to my blog post with one of my successful attempts in the description box. In fact this one that I tried it on this time is the results of one of my air layering rose propagations. I am doing it again on this same one but this is a better time of year to do it. ua-cam.com/video/mzNJqq2iDmk/v-deo.htmlsi=9wNz0gxB4WNQslAx

Ooh, I should try the ziploc bags too.
It has worked for me. My brother, who propagates hundreds of trees taught me this method.@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
Can't wait to try this on my New Dawn rose..thank you
Have fun! I hope it works for you.
Thanks Pam for the video. Very interesting.
Glad you liked it!

You are so welcome! I am glad you found it encouraging, I had hoped it might help others not to be intimidated by this method.

Fascinating process. I’ve never tried before!
It is rather fun and there are premade pods available for those that don't want to DIY it.
Thanks you for the video!
Glad it was helpful!
It does not need to be darkened. The roots will still form, I promise!
Good to know. Thank you.

Hi 😊 Do you have follow up video of this propagation?
