    I don't have to use one of these I'm just here because a character on a tv show had one. But it reminds me once again how truly lucky we are with our health when we don't have to do things that others have to spend so much time and energy on. Health should never be taken for granted. On the other hand I do have issues that if most people here could only realize how lucky they are not to have my issues. God bless all.

    So the inside of the tubing is never cleaned?

    • @davidyoung3237
      @davidyoung3237 8 місяців тому

      That’s correct wipe down the outside every so often than according to most manufacturers replace your mask setup and tubing ( you can buy it as a kit all together ) every 6 months or so - helps to hsve a spare on hand incase you have a part brake unexpectedly and need to urgently replace it to continue using your nebuliser.
      I’ve had the equivalent of 24 puffs of salbutamol and Atrovent tonight inc 5 mg ventolin and 500 mic atrovent on the n builder from 1700- now 2130 ( hope I can sleep tonight 😂 but according to my pulse oximeter, at least I’m breathing okay and my asthma has settled.

    After soaking in vinegar, the parts still have the vinegar smell. Is it safe to use?
    I think most of the vinegar smell comes from a rubber piece that holds the medicine cup down (I'm using a portable ultrasonic nebulizer).

      For my Nebulizer CNB69008 it is written that it should be desinfected after the last treatment of the day. You must clean it up under hit water, after you must wash it in hot water with soft detergent, and only after to completely sunk it in for 30 min in a solution composted of 1 part vinegar + 3 parts distilled water.

    Thanks for the video, I just got an OMRON nebulizer and boiled the tube! on the instruction its mentioned that the tube can be boiled in hot water. Do I have to get a new one?

    • @americanlungassociation

      You only need to clean the outside, and can use a disinfectant wipe for that. You first need to make sure to get the tubing completely dry inside and out. This is another reason we don’t recommend submerging, as this is not easy to do. You may be able to put the tubing only on the nebulizer compressor, and run it for several minutes to help dry the inside of the tubing. Turn the nebulizer compressor on first, then hook the tubing up, so no water is able to get back in the compressor, as it can damage the device. Once you have done this, I would inspect the tubing to make sure it didn’t get melted or damaged in the hot water. If it looks good, and is dry, you can hook it up to the nebulizer, and test it out when your next nebulizer treatment is due. If for some reason you hear or see an air leak, or the nebulizer is not making the same amount of mist it usually does, you may need to contact your DME provider, and get a replacement tubing.

    Is there a machine that you can place them in to clean the nebulizer? Like they have for people with cpap.

    • @chadm2343
      @chadm2343 7 місяців тому

      With nebulizers you can just use disposable kits that you can change out 1-2 times a month. For cleaning you can just do as shown in the video. It's the same way suggested for CPAP masks. Warm soapy water, quick rinse, air dry out of direct sunlight.

      In the instruction manual they say 1 part vinegar+ 3 parts distilled water and let is be sunk in for 30 minutes. Before that they also instruct you to wash it in hot water with soap and clean it before you put it in vinegar solution. They also say that it should be done every day after you end your treatment sessions.

    I have a question. Every time I use the nebulizer machine the tube pop out from the machine and there's speckled water inside the tube. Does it mean I need to get another machine?

    • @brenten6226
      @brenten6226 11 місяців тому

      It sounds like you may have some condensation in the tubing ( causing the specks of water).
      The tubing should always be completely dry before storing to prevent bacteria or mildew from forming in it. You can dry the condensation that forms by running the machine with only the tubing on it to allow it to dry completely. Also, always ensure that the tubing, mask, and/ or mouthpiece remain in the upright position when setting it up and during usage.
      My tubing pops off frequently and always has. I think some of the machines area that the tubing connects isnt made quite right. ( mine is a Panasonic and where the tubing connects tends to be shorter than it should be ). I just try to ensure the tubing is on as tightly as possible and hold it in place with my hand to prevent it from popping off.
      The machine you have should be fine, but do check your tubing to ensure there's no mildew from previous condensation being left in it. If there's any discoloration or weird smell of the tubing, you'll probably want to replace it and then make sure to dry it properly each time you use it as described above.
      I hope this helps.

    • @jessicah3450
      @jessicah3450 3 роки тому +2

      My DME supplier that I got my machine from sends out what they call nebulizer kits with replacement tubing, mouthpieces/cups, and filters every 6 months, since those wear out faster than the compressor. I would start by contacting the medical equipment supplier where you got your nebulizer to reorder parts. You can contact the manufacturer and ask (I believe that is one of the Pari nebulizers?)

      You just wipe the outside of the tubing with a disinfectant wipe or damp paper towel. If there's condensation in the tubing, you can hook it up to the compressor and the air from the compressor will dry it out.

      turn on the nebulizer and leave it running until all the water gets out of the tubing. you should also leave it running for a while (2 mins should do) after each treatment, because moisture builds up inside the tube. detach the cup of course
