    Great vid! Now I have a beautiful 8B that looks like it has never been used, runs like a champ! Only problem is I don’t have a power cord.
    When I find a power cord I’ll present it to my wife.
    She is going to be ecstatic!

    Sunbeam offered certain appliances and accessories to schools during the 1980s into the 1990s Teachers and schools could buy mixers, blenders, coffee makers, food processors, electric skillets, Deep Fryers, etc. The did accept personal checks, money orders and did not require a school purchase order. Most items were discounted 20% to 30% below local retail and offered some deluxe models not available in local stores. PowerPlus mixer models with stir speed or shutoff timers, Electric skillet with a timer in the master control are two examples I remember. One usually received their order about 30 days after the check cleared.

    I have one like this with the worklight, MixMaster Vista model 7-01-10D Purchased new old stock in the original box 9 years ago. I had one before I could afford to have a KitchenAid that was a re-furbishis model I bought a Sunbeam Service Center in Houston. At the time there were no chrome stand mixer for sale in New Orleans. mail order of these machines was not an option at the time. as these were The appliances were sold unboxed with a 90 day warranty. There were models that were not available in stores in the area . When the assembly of Sunbeam small appliance shifted from the USA, the Sunbeam factory authorized service centers all closed.

    Hello! I have a mixmaster 1-8b. I had to get the gears from another mixer head for my mixer since they were stipped. I see lines and a dot/dimple on each gear. How do i put them in to get the correct timing for the beaters? Thanks!

    We have a 1-8B. Just started using it. When using the bread hooks to knead dough, it got fairly hot. Are these machines powerful enough and able to take the punishment or should I slow down the speed to prevent OVER-heating??? I think I ran it about 7 minutes on speed 5. It was hot to the touch on the outside.

      I always thought, despite the fact they sold them with dough hooks, they were really not quite powerful enough to actually use them well. If you are using it for bread dough, then you can probably expect it to run hot. It was probably not a big issue back when they were sold new, as they did have a warranty, but these days its not that easy to get them repaired.

      Vintage Mixers and More. I found a site with the original user manual. And it said to cut speed back down to 2 after dough gets incorporated. I had run it on 6 for 6 minutes because didn't know. I tried again using this recommendation with better results. Check out the Sunbeam mixmaster pages at oldrecipebook.com

    Hi, I have one of these mixers and after about I reach 6 on the dial, it doesn't go any faster. Ideas what the problem is?

    • @vintagemixersandmore1666
      @vintagemixersandmore1666 4 роки тому

      It could need an adjustment on the speed control, they are set by turning the dial to speed 1 and using an allen wrench through a hole in the rear cap, you can adjust the speed. If the lowest speed is too high, it will change the range of speed control you have. However if it is too low, it will overheat the resistor and they are getting to be impossible to find. It is tricky to adjust the speed to factory settings, as it requires being able to know, and see the RPM of the beater shaft but setting it by ear usually works. If the lowest speed is fine, it could be an issue of too much drag on the motor due to lack of lubrication. These models were permanently lubricated by soaking an oil wick for each of the 2 bushings, but of course they eventually dry up as they never planned for use this many years later. Unfortunately that involves disassembly to be able to reach the oil wicks. Hope this helps!

      @@vintagemixersandmore1666 I do have two machines and the low setting on this one seems the same as the one that works correctly so I don't think it's the speed control. So I had it apart last night and greased the gear box. That helped a little. Guess I need to take it apart more and find all the lubircation areas. That sounds like work. Thanks much.
