    Amazing video man! This is really good stuff. Physical security is really lacking in content if you ask me. Great job to help fix that!

      I will probably do a deep dive into this topic in the future -- a soup to nuts how to.

    Moving house soon and want to ditch the Ring doorbell for something local that integrates with Home Assistant. Also want an NVR and a few external cameras and Reolink feels like a good choice. This video is very useful, thanks!

    You can change the live view to the maximum resolution, with the reolink software. There are fluent, balanced, and clear options, clear being maximum.

    Just got this doorbell, it is awesome. Set image quality to high for best results. It has a micro SD card slot and also 1GB of free cloud storage so you're covered even if someone steals your camera/SD card. You can also use it with a Reolink NVR and some third party NVRs as well. Also it connects through local wifi so it will work without internet or cloud account and when the internet is down. Also has ethernet on the wifi version and of course on the PoE version. Also works with Alexa and Google Home (you can see video and two way talk, but not that reliable or best quality in that case) but requires a free account for that. Also has a 2 year warranty which is better than most with 1 year warranty. They don't offer 24/7 professional monitoring however, so it's just self monitoring.

      Pleased so far. It does seem to draw a lot of power, though. I replaced my 10VA transformer with a 30VA transformer. Don't know that it's actually using all that, but the 10VA gave up the ghost after installing the doorbell.

      @@BlaizeTech Yeah most video doorbells need more than 10VA, I think mine is 24, it might need something like at least 16. I had a Nest Doorbell previously and had mine upgraded for that so I can still use that one for the Reolink. Another thing they could do since it allows linking your google account to the Reolink account is allow use of Google Drive as a backup cloud storage rather than their own servers, you basically get up to 15 gb of free cloud on google drive and they don't have to maintain their own servers to give you free or paid cloud storage. Maybe backup to google photos or something like that and allow you to set how much space you want to use. Maybe even backup to UA-cam but set your account to private which might even be unlimited lol, though not sure if that violates UA-cam terms and conditions.

      @@abc123fhdi I generate too much data to store in the cloud, and my uplink would choke if I pushed it. An NVR makes a lot more since for me. But if it works to push it to the cloud, cool. :)

      @abc123fhdi Рік тому

      @@BlaizeTech Yeah you can have the NVR as well, might as well take advantage of the free cloud storage as additional backup in case your NVR gets stolen.

    My apologies for commenting on an older video, but I was wondering doing the loop on the mechanical chime does that make the doorbell ring like a normal doorbell or do you still have to use the included plug-in chime? My apologies I was just trying to get clarification.

    • @BlaizeTech
      @BlaizeTech  6 місяців тому

      That was to ensure that the loop to the door bell was closed. I bypassed the chime. It uses the chime that came with the device.

    Hello and thank you for providing such an informative video. I found it extremely helpful. I have an NVR system, and I believe the Reolink Video Doorbell would be a perfect fit for my needs. I am interested in the WiFi version that is powered by a mains doorbell. My current doorbell only supplies 6V which is not compatible as the Reolink Video Doorbell requires either 24V DC or 12-24V AC power.
    I have been searching for a replacement doorbell in the UK with an internal transformer that would not only function effectively but also maintain a pleasing look in the hallway.
    Could you tell me the doorbell model you are using? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

      @johnbs7516 Рік тому

      Watching again and it looks like your doorbell has a separate transformer, I'll keep searching

      My old doorbell is pretty generic -- A 16V loop with a button and 30VA transformer. These are pretty common in the USA.
      The Reolink does not have a built-in transformer.
      If you can replace the transformer, you should be golden. I don't know what you have in the UK available, but in the states, you can get a step-down transformer from 120V to 16V that supplies 30VA to the AC loop for the doorbell. They're $15-$30 USD, but you'd have to figure out that in your area.

    Lacks built-in HomeKit support - I’ll pass - You would need to configure a device with Scryped or Homebridge to get limited HomeKit functionality.

      If it's not for you, try something else. It does support ONVIF, though.
