This was such a good day in the life, yours are always so much more realistic. Loved your choice of music too. I know what you mean about learning on the job, it's so hard when it goes from "oh you have a decent learning curve" to "why don't you know this?" so quick. I always tell myself, I know way more than I knew 3 months ago. 3 months from now I'll know even more. A year from now will be so different etc etc I'm really enjoying your vlogmas, you're doing such a great job with having such good content each day! I really appreciate all the work you're putting into it :)
Orientation is so hard!!! The key is having a supportive team that is willing to help. Don’t stay somewhere if that isn’t what’s happening. I oriented on icu and hated it because everyone was so rude and acted like I was a nuisance. I switched to L&D and it has been amazing.
Oh man I’ve totally been in those situations where you’re paired up with someone who isn’t great to train with, it can definitely get super discouraging, and make you second guess yourself. It’s hard to get through that sometimes. 🙏🏻💕
Love love love your videos and Im so happy you are posting them everyday. I know it must be so difficult for you to film and edit these with all the work that you do but you should know we enjoy them so so much. Thank you and good job on Delilah’s hair, you are an amazing mom. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes I love salads. Plus you showed me a smart way to absorb the moisture- paper towels!! Awesome sauce! You’re a genius! Keep sending more videos lady!
I use to work in the OR as a surgical tech. I feel ya. It is definitely a lot of learning. Don’t let those nurses that have been nurses get to you. Surgery is a lot different than being on the med surg floor as a nurse. I start LPN program next month! Then on to the RN bridge program! 👩🏼⚕️🩺 I love your videos! Thanks for sharing! Your an awesome nurse!
Your girls are so pretty! I love the honesty about your work schedule. PM shifts were never my favorite either...waiting all day for the inevitable. Sorry to hear that coworkers aren’t pleasant or supportive of your learning pace, especially since they were once in your shoes. I loathe being around grumpy people. Hang in there!
You guys should get a Keurig for the coffee dilemma! Then you can each have your coffee! I have recently fallen in love with your videos, just the honesty of life as a full time nurse, mom, and wife. We aren’t understood by many & it definitely takes an army for us to do all three! Like Charlie, my husband understands how hard our schedules (especially being on call!) can be and is so supportive! ❤️
That Snapchat from Charlie & the Girls was too precious 😍 So excited you’re doing Vlogmas & gonna be sad when there’s no daily dose of Alyssa. Going to catch up on your girl Liz’s videos now 😊 Hope you’re having a great weekend!
That salad looks divine. I am a night shift nurse and I love prepping salads. But how long does that mix last in the fridge before it go's bad? I would love to see a video of you making/prepping the salad and dressing. Just so my nosy behind can see what is all in it. I am always up for new salad idea's.
love your videos! keep up the good work. I know balancing everything much be so hard but I look forward to your videos everyday! especially with it being during finals week in nursing school I look forward to a nice study break. thank you for your content!
6:03 you are such a babe, girl! I love greens as well, but looking at the size of your salad I guess I don't eat enough of it. 😂 Good tip about keeping salad fresh, thanks! Girls looked adorable!
My husband works 16 hours shifts 1-2 times a week so he’s gone before the kids get up and back when they are asleep.... it’s hard on him and the kids but like you said sacrifices and the kids will understand that more as they get older! Also love the daily uploads!! ❤️
There is a half keurig half coffee pot machine. You can buy the reusable filter for the keurig to not be wasteful and one can have one and the other can use the other 🤷🏼♀️ or you can buy a smaller coffee pot unit and just have two!(cheaper lol) Just an option!
Alyssa not all nurses are so “ mean”, I hate that seasoned nurses are so rude or impatient with orientees, !!! I understand how u feel that’s y when I’m orienting a new nurse I try to remember what being. New was like for me❤️❤️Hang on it gets better🙏🏾! I also remember the guilt I had when I had those crazy hrs, an my children were small, but that too will get better an thank god you have a good husband to help!!🙌🏽🙌🏽👍🏽😊. Been in nursing for 32 yrs from er, l&d, Med/surg, icu, orth I know how it feels! Have a great week!!!
Thanks for the tip of salad food prep. I love eating salads too but when you chop up lettuce and veggies they tend to go bad really quick in the fridge. Even the already chopped up bags go bad really fast and I find myself having to eat it right away before they do. So I’m going to try this tip. I’ll probably head to Walmart and look for a big Tupperware like that one. Hopefully I can get mines to last 4-5 days in the fridge like yours.
Hi Alyssa. Ive been following you Here for a year or 2 years i Guess, bcoz your Channel is very interesting to me and i Liked your topic being a Nurse and how you Started. I have 2 Kids also Same Like you. I Lived Here in Germany and i struggle to continue my Nursing proffesion. How old are you, when you start to continue your Nursing School?. I Hope to Heart From you bcoz i know your busy too. Stay Safe and your Family...
I’m a nursing student but I get really discouraged and kinda doubtful about nursing considering the workload that is put on you.. the schedules are just horrible and sometimes I don’t really want to do nursing just because of the hours you have to work , it seems hard to have a stable family life, ugh
There are a lot of options and some include 9-5 jobs. Don't let it discourage you. Not everyone needs to work at a hospital. I just really enjoy working in the hospital setting. ♥️
Her reply below is so true...and don't forget like she mentioned in the video a lot of this is so hard because it's orientation. Being a new nurse is brutal, but once you gain your experience you start having more of a pick of your jobs and there are so many varieties of schedules you can look for. tbh though I would definitely take 3 12s with call over a 9-5 nursing job every day, like in a clinic! That wears you down in its own ways too.

Ok I need to try this salad hack thing. Because that looks awesome. Also, we also use old jars for everything. But this isn’t shocking haha

The Snapchat was sooooo precious!
Oh, Alyssa.....the girls are just the cutest!!!!! Loved Delia’s hair!
Also, don’t let those with ugly hearts, hardened yours! 💕
Thanks girl
6:03 you are such a babe, girl! I love greens as well, but looking at the size of your salad I guess I don't eat enough of it. 😂 Good tip about keeping salad fresh, thanks! Girls looked adorable!
Delilah with curled hair makes her look at least 5 years older!! I love your videos, and I'm so glad you're uploading everyday!
The Snapchat! 😭❤️ such a sweet moment!
not gonna lie, that snapchat charlie sent you with your daughters made me tear up :’)
My husband works 16 hours shifts 1-2 times a week so he’s gone before the kids get up and back when they are asleep.... it’s hard on him and the kids but like you said sacrifices and the kids will understand that more as they get older!

So a typical day are you working 12hrs? Or is it different in the OR?
And how often will you be on call after orientation.

Your fam is the cutest 🖤
That includes the fur babies
hahaha thanks girl!
What is the salad dressing that you make? I would LOVE the recipe!
Their Snapchat made my heart melt!!!!
Do you get paid when you are on call and don't get called in?
What Podcasts do you like to listen to?
Mostly running ones and I enjoy Kalyn Nicholson’s coffee talk

I love the Snapchat video! So sweet
I loved the Snapchat the girls sent you it was so cute I bet it’s hard for you all on the days you don’t see them and they don’t get to see you
How does call pay work for you? Keep up the great videos!
A few bucks an hour to be on call, time and a half when I’m called in with a two hour minimum guaranteed.
I love your videos. You keep it real. I know you are a vegetarian. I love salad too but can't handle tofu. 😁😁😁
Have a good day at work ok
If you find the dressing recipe, I’d love to hear it:)
was that snapchat not the best thing EVER!!!!

Your schedule sounds really hard on your body
It’s better than working every other night like I was!
@@AlyssaAllDayVlogs it sounds hard
