I guess the only gripe is they're progressing up the power tree too fast, because Goku's aim was to beat Beerus since DBS started. He gets excited for these tournaments but you know he's training to beat Beerus. And if Jiren is the one who beat a god of destruction.. and Goku surpasses Jiren, that would mean Goku can also beat a god of destruction. We don't know how the clown stacks up with beerus, but if they're holding the same title, their gap shouldn't be that wide. And here's another thing. There are 4 universes that weren't included in this tournament. It's pretty much guaranteed that they will be further explored in future arcs, but that would mean the big bad will also have to be above a god of destruction if they even want to challenge Goku. TLDR: Jiren is a great character, but his placement throws the power scaling out of whack for future story lines.
