are they like garden huckleberry? I discovered some volunteer berries in my garden that looked like potato or tomato plants at first, that must have come with the load of topsoil we got delivered for our beds, and I am pretty sure they are garden huckleberry, from what I can find online,, they are tiny and black but look like blueberries. I am harvesting them S they ripen qnd stashing in the freezer until I have enough to do something with. I have never had a huckleberry but that looks like a really delicious blessing you are working with!! we fo have blueberry pick your own farms local to us now I want to go harvest some to can up!! thank you for the inspiration!! blessings to you and yours..
Hello Amanda, I sure hope that the volunteer plants that you have coming up are huckleberries because the are a delicious blessing. Treat them like blueberries but be prepared for a stronger flavor. Thanks for watching, I appreciate that you are here. Blessings, Colleen
I got the forjar lids on Amazon, because I don't can enough to buy 100 dollars worth of lids for the free shipping. But they are fantastic I don't have any fails now. Sorry I would use the code otherwise hopefully as they become more popular the shipping will change. They totally are worth the price .. Anyway great video Colleen huckleberry isn't easy to come by here but I think I may do some berry canning for baking season coming up. My garden is a bit of a fail squirrels have eaten my tomatoes and peppers well allot of them still hoping my cabbages to make it lol.. oh and I live in Ontario so I get about the shipping in Canada.
Hello Penny, No worries about buying through the link. I that doesn't work for you then definitely buy them them through Amazon. I've struggled with my garden this year because of the heat. Other than three small raised beds I have things in pots and they are all stressed from rhe heat. Hope the rest of your week goes great! Best wishes, Colleen
@@Penny-jj4li I don't have any good recipes for zucchini. I roast it in the oven with a mix of other veggies and I use it to make zucchini loaf but I've never experimented with it much because I'm not a huge fan of zucchini. But its one of the veggies that grows like mad so I really need to put a little more effort into finding some recipes that would appreciate having it in. If I come across anything interesting I will definitely share it. Cheers, Colleen
How hoy as the water in the canning pot got to be before you put the jars in and bring to a rolling ball pls..i havent got a thermometer at the moment..thanks 😊
Hello, Its been awhile since I've seen you here. The water has to be very but not boiling. I did manage to get huckleberry juice on my bright yellow shirt. Its in rhe soak right now and I don't think its coming out. That was silly of me for sure! I hope you are well? Take care 🙂
@@oursilvermoments6028 bit up and down at the moment TBH but gotta keep on keeping on eh? Thanks for asking...soon as I saw your shirt inside my head I was like 😱😱😱 but thought you had managed to escape the juice! Next time, apron, visor and gloves maybe? Keep smiling, lovely lady xx

Is there a Canadian distributer for those canning lids? Even with your discount shipping is $28......not very affordable
Hi Karen, I will put that question to the company because as far as I know it is just US.
