Just noticed this is an older video but the knowledge shared is timeless and priceless!
YES... have an organized system with how you do each haircut and keep your tools clean and organized too!
I've had new customers purposely ask me to do their hair bc they see my good habits. I was also taught to never make a strong line. I created my own skip a guard technique which saves a lot of time. Example- fade w/ a 2, start my fade area with a 4 and then the 2 fades right in (or with a little clipper over comb if needed).
Keep up the great work Eddie! I always enjoy your videos and wisdom.
You’ve been with me my whole career and didn’t even know it. Thank you for what you do! ✊
Thanks my friend !!
Thanks for this, did a 3 hour cut the other day.
Your not alone brother✊🏽
Your not alone either but my time is cutting
i did an hour and a half and my brother was so frustrated
Same , came out clean but could’ve been done on 30 minutes EASY
Man I don’t understand why I be so slow cutting, maybe it’s my ocd
First of all, I would like to thank you for these videos! I am a licensed cosmetologist and had to take a couple years off to take care of my granddaughter! When I stepped back into the field I quickly realized that something was wrong! I couldn’t fade to save my soul. The info you have in your content has helped me realize part of my problem which lies in my equipment! So I look forward to your equipment suggestions! Now I just need to work on techniques and tips and tricks to get better in my craft! Thank you for all you do! I wish I could come in a you tell me where I’m f’n up in technique!
My fades take about 20-40 mins and that's also using scissors. Where I work I'm told that's too long for a haircut. I agree with you any faster and you're sacrificing quality. Thanks for your videos!
This video is soooo VITAL to my development in this craft.
Love this video man. Been a barber 18 years and literally everything you said was right on the money. Series 9 is definitely the game changer.
Just starting out, have my diploma and tools to get going but no one will help me get salon experience, mature student so I’m fudged because I live in the uk and equality is crap, it’s all about younger people and apprenticeships and I couldn’t survive on peanuts so until I find a barber with a heart these videos are worth their weight, thank you 💝
start asking around your local shops and see if you could do a day or 2 for free when i first started out at 16 i was working for free everyday for 7 month ten years later i had 4 shops got start somewhere good luck
This information was gold. Thank you. I’m definitely gonna take all of these tips.
Thank you very much
I'm not a barber.. I just started cutting my own hair at home
But you make me love to learn barbering correctly.. I know I am late (40 yrs old) But still love to learn new things
You my friend give great advice and any stylist will benefit from following it. Definitely looking into being able to send some funds so you can continue to
Your the only person I've heard call the Andis foil shavers garbage.
Yup..not garbage but can't be compare to Bruan..
@@UA-camBarberAcademy idk I have to disagree I only use Andis & Babyliss shavers..the Wahl shaver was irritating clients neck
Eli Laguna this is the same guy trashed babyliss then put the gold fx as his top trimmer
I had the wahl shaver lost it and bought the andis shaver and I personally don’t like it it leaves a really harsh line and you have to be really gentle with them
Thank you very much for this video! Im defenetly going to be checking all your videos! Love from Spain!
Man, I'm so glad I found you. Going to start watching all your videos.
New to this trade and I love it, you’re positive attitude and willingness to teach is awesome man. I appreciate it!
"Don't be that guy" Lol. Great video, looking forward to checking and learning more from your channel
From one barber to another ...i must say, GREAT VIDEO BROTHER...very well done and well said
Good tips, another good tip is just use your trimmers to draw the the edges, don’t waste your time trying to make it look good when at the end you are going to do the same thing again with your razor. And when doing a fade star removing all the bulk from the sides with a #2 guard (only if the fade have a length higher that #2 guard on the top) all the way up and then scoop it out at the end, from there you know you just going to need just from .5 guard to 1.5
Yeah definitely helps, I’m 6 months into barbering, and now I use the 1.5 guard or 2 sometimes and clipper over comb to connect better, and then the fade 0-1.5 or 2
You’re the man, dude. Always looking for good videos to share when I take on an apprentice and you’ve got a ton of quality in one spot. Very valuable stuff for everyone at every level to brush up on.
Thank you ! you are making a difference ❤

God bless you bro for sharing your knowledge
I love watching this video. I've watched it several times, and it makes absolute sense to me. I'm guilty of a few of them myself.
So true that my problem I need to be a faster barber.... I just got my license in October of last year but I just started working in a Barbershop I started in January 14 and my cutting skills needs more improvements.... thanks for these videos you put up it's really helpful and inspiring it helps me continue working on my skills... thanks man!!!
Quality over quantity. Time will speed up with experience. You got this!
Hahaha this is amazing to see you without the beard and all the glitter&glamour 😂❤
Hi buddy, can you write down the specific brands and models of the tools you are using, please, thanks.
I been waiting for this one! I bet it's gonna be dope! I'm excited. I already put my reminder on. Knowing Eddie, it's gonna be a very detailed video. : )
Can you make a video on clipper and scissor over comb...2020 video?
thanks kindly
The bronze nine electric shaver is that still the one you recommend?
Real talk.haha,I wish I had that guy in my shop,he seems like a funny dude
I really need that clipper over comb video
@@UA-camBarberAcademy got you bro
UA-cam Barber Academy
And guess what shaver I use? The Andis Profoil! Gonna switch next order, thanks
Hey Bro. It's refreshing to see how the style that you are using actually fit my setup. Great content and valuable information. Keep up the good work. Barber School!
I agree with you except with the clippers. I do love your osters though. I'm probably going to trade my Supra zr 2 with the osters lol. But I think the clippers is all personal preference. Just because you have detachable blades, doesn't mean you'll cut faster. I know some barbers who still cut fast with adjustable clippers. Me personally as a barber myself, I'm able to detail more with adjustable blades
Pretty good info, where I work we have to do 16min haircuts, the area where I live EVERYONE wants fades I live in the southside of San Antonio Tx
I love ur vids man I’m barbering over 5 years and I’m always learning new tips from ur vids
Thank you this is very helpful
I might need a detachable clipper. It took me forever to knock this kid's hair down yesterday with masters let alone do his fade THEN shearing to blend.
Super helpful, thanks Eddie!
Love ya❤ Great advice
You make great vids! I enjoy watching. U offer real world advice and great encouragement.
Great tips even for self cutters as we shouldn't be wasting time either. Also I was gonna say damnnn that fade is fresh on the thumbnail.
Thanks, I use about 45mins for a cut, even though I get paid less a dollar for a yeah cut 😪
Loved this! Learned new things and reminded of old ones. 2 👍's UP
I'm convinced that I need the Oster Volt now
Seems like M Gamma hated cordless clippers a few years ago 😂 😂, thats why we have 1 mouth and 2 ears sometimes is better to listen more and talk less 🤣🤣 , Much love Eddie just messing around with You .
love the video man thanks a lot for this video it helped me realize some mistakes I was making
Came a long way bro. You a. Legend !
Ok so I just bought the andis stylist combo . comes with the envy corded and t trimmer . what guards should I buy to get the best blend ? Thanks for great video's oh and should I get the fade blade .or will the stock blade be ok ? I have cut my own hair once with some janky conair clippers did a taper cause I couldn't get low enough really for anything else. But turned out surprisingly well for first cut just trying to get me and the kids taken care of while we stuck in the house .
Got my record to all time low today 30 min
And yes.. I use WAHL senior + andis foil...
Man❤️ thank you
May God give you what you wish for
Thanks for keeping it real I've been Practicing some of your pointers. Very help ful for beginners.
Love this barber!
Thank you
Good practical tips 👍🏽 bro can you do a video about that 1.5 new Andis magnetic guard. Also The whole world is confused on the need for the 1/2 Andis guard which is slightly bigger than their zero guard and smaller than the 1 guard
UA-cam Barber Academy thanks bro, you doing the work of the Lord 🙂
Gonna try all this
Straight to the point!
Listen people he's right!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIPS BRO. YOU REALLY ARE A REAL G, I'M STARTING THIS OUT AND IT'S REAL BLESSING THAT THERE'S BARBERS LIKE YOU THAT HELP OUT AND THAT'S JUST VERY HUMBLE THANKS

Great stuff, very real and down to Earth. Glad I stumbled onto your channel. Looking forward to checking out your other videos!
Some clients complain to me about other barbers turning the chair giving the back to the Mirror that's why I go around the chair to keep the client facing the mirror all the time but sometimes I have no choice but to turn the chair around halfway because of the time manage purpose
@@UA-camBarberAcademy I agree I use the mirror to blend the fade
Love these videos , just starting to cut other ppl. Still having problems with the line but ima get there. Thanks man watching everyda
Another great video man I really enjoyed this. Quick and user helpful
Thank you for all of f your advice and videos !!!!

Hi ! is so nise to learn from your advice.I did learn things that i use now every day.Big thank you! 🙋🙏
I have to admit , i do one side first then the other. It takes me about 20mins to do a fade. Im sure i can get it faster the way you said it .
Helpful and entertaining at the same time!
Well done!
Hi can I ask what foil shaver brand do you use or you prefer ? Thanks.
Can you use the andis ceramic 00000 on the oster fast feeds ?
UA-cam Barber Academy thanks for the replies 👌🏻
Good video!
Dude your advice is amazing thank you for keeping it real bro 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Question, the Oster Volt on Amazon is marketed as a veterinary grooming clipper, so I'm wondering if I buy it, will my standard Oster blades fit? I noticed that the blades recommended are different numberings, and I don't want to spend almost $300 on clippers with a whole new set of blade sizes to remember
@@UA-camBarberAcademy Wow! Really?? I worked in the veterinary field and I'd always wondered if those clippers were interchangeable. It's more power for cutting lots of heads.
Nice vid man...especially with the half of the head...never thought about that.
I appreciate your work
Can you explain how to cut a over comb haircut
Very helpfull advice.. thanks.😊
New sub. From Philippines
