I apologize for the inexcusable delay, it was only today that I finally got my hands on a functioning Mr. Krabs model.
I hope you enjoy it! 😊
Perfect timing to have listened to the spongebob version again. XD Thanks! Added to the AI playlist
This is AMAZING!! Mr. Krabs has the perfect voice for this song! I would love to hear him sing Star of the County Down (the Orthodox Celts version)
Thanks for doing the song I've Been requesting it for a long time now from other creators of AI covers. I've been waiting for a while for a similar Melody the Irish Patriot song
back home in Derry.
Can you do Mr. Krabs covering Shipping Up To Boston by Dropkick Murphys?
Nice channel name and description
“SpongeBoy me Bob, gather round and I’ll tell you the tragic tale of Michigan iron…”
As Krabs himself was a seasoned sailor I'm sure he knew of this tragedy and probably loves the song too
He’d definitely pour a drink in remembrance each year on the day it happened
he probably had friends onboard that night
@@stephweasenforth7891
Clancy Brown should just make his own cover album.
That would be way better
Unfortunately Clancy brown can't really sing in his Mr krabs voice. Dee Bradley Baker does the singing for Krabs so
@@colbaltmind5696I'd take a clancy brown album regardless of whichever voice he utilizes.
@@40kanon I’ll take both, a clancy brown album and a dee bradley baker album
That would be legendary
This is actually pretty well fitting being that Mr. Crabs was a veteran sailor!!
*cough* there's no crabs in the great lakes *cough cough*
My thoughts exactly bro!
@@JohnDoe-qf1jidoesn’t matter. Mr. Krabs was still a sailor.
@@JohnDoe-qf1ji There aren't really English talking sponges under the sea. 🙄
that's the point
My little brother was a SpongeBob superfan and a Lightfoot enjoyer in equal measure. He'd have ABSOLUTELY added this to his music Playlist if he were still with us 💔
Sorry for your loss sir
That is sad to hear. Sorry for your loss
I'm sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss brother. 🕊
I'm so sorry for your loss
If only Gordon Lightfoot had lived to hear this masterpiece.
mr krabs carrying that mantle RIP gord
As a Michigander, this is a beautiful tribute. Thanks, Eugene 🙏
Gobbless
Amen
@@Salty_reviews Gobble Gobble Gobble
as a fellow michigander, i agree with you
@@electronthenerd White Lake represent
As a Michigander, hearing Mr. Krabs say “Does any one know where the love of God goes/
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?” just hits different
As a Ontarian, hearing Mr. Krabs say “Does any one know where the love of God goes/
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?” I agree it just hits different
As an Oregonian, this is also my favorite line.
I've never rode out a heavy winter storm like that out on the water. But I know full well what those waves have done to greater men than I...
I can just see it now: on a slow day at the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs tells Spongebob about the time he visited the Great Lakes and had to wear a salt mask to breathe in the fresh water environment. He talked to Canadian sturgeon and Michigander whitefish and learned our songs and lore, about Le Griffon and the Big Fitz, and even spied the fabled Meeshee-peeshwee (Lake Michigan's nessie).
should have been love of Neptune
@@Fragolux this is so fucking canon
This has no right being as good as it is.
Krabs and Plankton absolutely knock it out of the park.
Which plankton song are you referring to?
@@Numbah3Son Any of 'em.
@@Numbah3Sonthe Pearl Jam covers with him are actually really solid

Rest in peace, Gordon.
Out of all things, A Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald AI Cover? I didn't think the song was popular enough or mainstream enough for it!
I used to think it wasn't a few years back, but realized it's like a quiet form of mainstream. it's there yet few admit it lol
@@james_fisch I mean I figured it would be popular in Michigan and other places around the great lakes, but I guess I just didn't think it was *that* popular
It's absolutely beloved here in the UK.❤
If you grew up in the 80s you more then likely heard it on radio.
@@Ilovegirlfights2 Can safely say I did not grow up in the 80s.
Now they ring the bell 30 times in honor of Mr Lightfoot
Imagine a karaoke night at the Krusty Krab, downing a couple patties and talking about the sea, all the while listening to Eugene nail it on stage. Its cool to think about
I’m realizing now how brilliant of an episode this would be. Just zero explanation, shot like a cheap student art film, slightly shaky cam, mood lighting, each character goes up on stage and just nails a song.
@@bobsnodgrass2013 that would be a wonderful way to stage a series finale.
Nah nah nah Mr Krabs writes this and sings it at the talent show 😎👌🏼
Clancy Brown has such a great deep, smokey voice, it really is suited for songs like this.
It's now my head canon that he would sing this while gently rocking young pearl to sleep.
or bones in the ocean (another ai cover that fits)
omfg i love this. he'd totally teach her old sea shanties too lol
I’d never think anyone would do a ai cover on this song R.I.P. to Gordon Lightfoot and the 29 men on the Edmund Fitzgerald
A tragic yet beautiful sea shanty to listen to. And the cathedral rang 30 times on May, 29 for the Sailors and one for this man who sang the song.
a signifier that we are living in the protected timeline
This is the perfect song for Mr. Krabs.
I know right!
Or the Flying Dutchman too?
@@josephbolcome5462 any old sea shanty would do I'd say
As a lightfoot connoisseur i can most definitely say gordon would be very pleased with the fact his music is getting so much attention lately.
You’ll get no disagreement from me.
@@andyshistorylessons8278thanks
May he rest in peace, I'm happy he knows he has made so many people know about the story of the ol' Fitz... I live about an hour away from Chicago and I love to listen to the Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald in November... Makes me think about how bad the lakes get, and how many ships have sadly lost the battle with them...
I find it weird that a lot of times, musicians music is more popular when they are dead versus when they are with us.
@@josephbolcome5462 Honestly, living around the Great Lakes, this song was known by quite a few people if I asked them.
Being from the Great Lakes, this hits diff
I was expecting a complete joke but this actually sounds good lol.
Wow never thought someone would do a AI cover of the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald unless they were from Michigan Wisconsin Minnesota or Ontario
10 years from now, 80 year old boomers with hearing loss will tell you how great Mr Krabs was in concert when you show them this video
Its actually funny to think about, imagine if the original version gets lost somehow and people believe some tribute of the original version is the actual original version
It's already happened with some covers of other songs, such as Ice Ice Baby (people don't know Pressure came first).
This works so well that I forgot it was an AI cover.
hilarious yet terrifying
I never expected this song to ever get an ai cover on it but, as a Michigander, I really do appreciate it being done. Thank you!
I grew up in the 2000s (the prime SpongeBob years) in Minnesota, which meant we had to learn this song in elementary school, so this is some real torturous nostalgia for me.
Happy 48th anniversary to the Edmund!
I'm laughing. This is a sad song about a real tragedy and I'm laughing.
As a resident of Northeastern Minnesota, this song has been a part of my life since I was little. I will play this at the next memorial lighting at split rock.
It's so (Lake) Erie hearing Crabs mention my city by name at 1:15
A lovely tribute to an absolutely beautiful tribute song.
R.I.P., Gordon Lightfoot.
This is actually a good mix.
Mr. Krabs knows the seas. Good for him to sing it in AI.
Returning home from Whitefish Point, thanks Krabs
The virgin Wreck Of The Mauna Loa vs. the chad Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
I didnt realize how badly i needed this one.
One of my favorite songs that was introduced to me through by grandpa. You have brought me so much knowledge and life Gordon Lightfoot, Rest In Peace: 1938-2023.
You know this makes sense for him to sing as he was a navy man and stuff and this just seems like his kinda music
Mr. Krabs is always heard singing this in his office when he's had too much ice cream.
This is probably the most fitting song for Mr. Krabs to sing that isn't about money.
Just went to Northern Michigan on Vacation last month. Had this stuck in my head. Good job, Eugene
UP or just up north? big distinction
@@circleinforthecube5170 UP. Actually went to Castle Rock and Sault St. Marie
@@circleinforthecube5170 Yeah, to us Michiganders, anything on the lower peninsula that's north of Claire is "northern Michigan," the U.P. is something completely different
@@DragnSly theres a big line between muskegon and bay city that is the scientific geographic boundary, the way the glaciers form the land starts to change and red pine only grows north of that line and specific natural community types don't occur south of it, its a big biogeographic boundary aswell as a cultural one
Was in the UP to visit the Great Lakes Shiprecks Museum at Whitefish Point. It was a 16 hour trip, but well worth it. This reminds me of that visit. 🙂
This song really fits him well.
Rip to a goat, Gordon Lightfoot.
RIP Gordon Lightfoot
Do Mr Krabs singing "Wreck of the Carl D Bradley" next and this is amazing
I think it works because it’s in character.
Eugene Krabs mourning the loss of all that valuable iron ore
Was just talking about Gordon light foot today, RIP to that legend
The echo of Gordon Lightfoot in the background is just eerie...
I can completely see Mr. Krabs singing this song in a SpongeBob episode 😂😂. This is awesome!
This is by far the best AI cover ever
I'll tell ya something. Mr. Krabs' voice is perfect for sea shanty songs like this! So, so good!
MY GOODNESS THIS WORKS TOO WELL!
Spongebob has been a lifelong fixation for me, and when I was little my parents had a "mix tape" cd for me that just had this on it to listen to on repeat, this is such a torrential flood of serotonin that I feel dizzy
i like how well this works on multiple levels
not only does the voice work but because he's a crab and he's so "salty" the maritime theme is perfect
This is a whole new genre of music
In context this is literally the best of these covers possible. Needs to have about 20 million views. So perfect “the pride of the American side”
Just needs that natural mic reverb and it'll be perfect. I can legitimately see Mr. Krabs singing this.
As a saltwater species, I'm surprised he heard about this.
@@mchagnon7 dude he reads the news lol
Love this! You know Mr. Krabs would sing this one passionately. For the fallen sailors!
After the war, Mr.Krabs fell into a dark and deep depression that seemed endless...
Just saw Lightfoot died THIS YEAR. RIP Gordon for your music LIVES ON in both our hearts and amazing AI covers.
Art.
Edit: Rest in Peace Gordon, may your music carry your soul through eternity.
As a person who lives SpongeBob, golden lightfoot, and Ships. I love this!!
Something about Mr. Krabs verbally confirming the existence of Cleveland is deeply disturbing to me.
It is the mistake by the lake, after all.
I absolutely love how a singing ai meme is shining some light on an excellent classic by an incredible and prolific artist
I need mr. Crabs to sing sundown. Even with his funny voice this song still feels serious. Lol
Thank you, Mr. Krabs!
This is, without doubt, the highest achievement of AI yet
Gordon Lightfoot is smiling in heaven 🙏
Thank you, official Alvin and the Chipmunks UA-cam channel!
Humanity has now officially peaked
One of the best covers tbh
Yooper here. Very neat. Mr. Krabs search for money caused the gales of November to come early. Profit does wild things.
Mr. Krabs should sing Copperhead Road by Steve Earl.
this song is a cultural beacon to michigander and northern wisconsinites
Frankly for anyone from the Great Lakes, this song is a reminder of just how fast the beauty of these inland seas can turn. 6,000 wrecks and 30,000 graves aren’t numbers to be taken lightly.

Michiganders relate to this song since this was a local tragedy that affected families all over the lakes.

Dude, I am absolutely here for this cover! Great job!
Krabs remembers that cold windy November night back in the 70s, and the terrifying force of lake superior. he chimed the bell in the attic of the Krusty Krab until it rang 29 times, for each man lost that night.
I'm astounded someone even thought to do this, and even more astounded at how well it works.
Damn, this is so fitting!!! Ai is getting scary good.
unironically this is pretty good lol
A very fitting song for Mr. Krabs character. One of my absolute favorite songs in general too. Surprisingly sounds really good!😄
I need more folk rock spongebob covers. This is... magical. Far out, man!
Edit: Forgot to mention, but if you're taking requests... The House You Live In has always been a favorite.
why is this so good?!
Now this is a ✨ MASTERPICE! ✨
When I hear this I envision Edmund Fitzgeralds wreck as a SpongeBob location, turned into a diner or something
As a Gordon Lightfoot fan, this is a beautiful tribute. Well done, Krabs!
This is surprisingly impressive for a spongebob ai cover.
I’ve always wished for this, Thank You !!!!
Oh my. This is my favorite song, being sung by my favorite character from my favorite show of all times. I did not know that I needed this. Thank you for your service and THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
I need to do stuff tomorrow yet I'm up at 1 o'clock listening to this
Me too! Lmao.
