About 3 years ago a top line VW Westfalia was stickered at £75k at a show, when the basic ducato vans ranged from £42 - 70k ;). The best value is Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Jumper - no VW or Fiat 'tax' to pay :)
Nice clean layouts, similar to the Globescout, 6m(+) without the cupboard allows a decent space dinette and loo. The first, rather pricey, but nice windows around the bed: top marks, and the front roof-light is great. The second, well the side window is put away from the sliding door, but now the blinds will be kicked by the sleeping feet - doh! - a high narrow one is required here!! The showers, what's the weird full height dark strip opposite the loo? Also at this price, curtains should be less clingy and more usable. Also compressor fridges need factory solar IMO, esp. at the price of the first one. I would suggest to buy new if needed, and trade on if required, with inflation no money is lost!
There isn't that much choice of pre owned motorhomes at dealerships a lot of them are struggling to offer quality used motorhomes and campervans. It would appear most owners are hanging on to what they have?
Alan I agree with you 💯% if possible try before you buy? I like both of these campervans despite the tradesmans element of the Base vehicles. The hobby is the nicest, personally I like the colour and the interior was finished off just that bit nicer, with the wooden worktop & table.
Most panel vans are made for delivery, but the advantage is that they are well tried and tested, drive nicely and spares are available. When ordered in metallic paint they cast off the trade appearance ;)
@@G-ra-ha-m I agree with pretty much everything that you said but for me I think it's the sliding door, if you've ever had the misfortune of being pitched next to one, it's the constant opening and closing of the sliding door, after awhile it does begin to grate a little!
The price of vans these days are through the roof.......astonishing

Hi Alan. I see on you site you have a red transit. What’s your thoughts on this as a motorhome cab. I thinking about getting a 2011

The conversion looked beautiful until I saw a shower curtain in a Eu76,000 van!! Has Hobby left it's bathrooms in the 1980s??

I got kut off. Really love the vans! Now I think it's too much bed for me
That split mattress is split in the most inconvenient place IMO. (Fiat)

Which city is best to look for these vans?
Dusseldorf during Caravan Salon or Stuttgart during CMT.
