Don't know how I missed this one. Gonna be fly fishing these streams this Spring (of 2023). Thanks for the sneak peak. 💩ty trashy trails are one of my BIG pet peeves. You got one smart, determined pup!
Thanks. I'm told that is one great trout stream. And with the trail right next to it to go up is nice, but you are probably looking more down stream along the road. Lots of open spots to cast!! Have fun. Let me know what you get! And remember, its called fishing, not catching !
Awe Akela is the best. Definitely was not giving up on that stick, too cute. That's a beautiful area for a stay and hike. I agree, ppl shouldn't ruin a place for others. Be safe. 😊👍
Thanks for watching! The Rails to Trails Conference seems to have shrunken from when I was really involved with such things. But there are a lot of the trials in your area!! Stay Safe Bryan!
Its really just people getting out who don't have a clue about outdoor etiquette. We need to all make sure when we see people camping who just seem to be partying to tell them the right way to do stuff, and take their names and license plates so you can report than to the authorities if they trash the place!👍
Akela is amazing. He stopped to analyze the situation. He may have figured it out completely given more time. The toilet paper thing - people don’t realize how they are limiting everyone’s access to parks and trails in the future (regulations, cost of cleanup) when they trash our beautiful public park systems in present time.
Well, it was right after Labor Day, So it will be sort of gone in a few weeks, and hopefully all gone by summer, but jeepers!! People don't have the basic manners anymore. That's why we have COVID! No one knows to wash their hands and not sneeze all over other people. I really need to get more sleep, I may be able to over look this stuff!! LOL
We’ll be going to Indian Boundary in a few weeks. Thanks for the info on the nearby trails. Have you hiked the Bald River Falls trail? Akelo is like my late best friend. Always runs back to make sure I’m still coming.
I have not Hiked the Bald RIver Falls Trail. I try to stay a way from falls that he might end up going over.... LOL And Don't wait... Get a NEW Best Friend before the last ones spirit can leave for someone else. They hang around until they see you are okay without them.
I used to guide Boy Scouts in the NY ADK, We saw bears all the time. They are much more afraid of us then we should be of them. Only a mother with cubs ever acted brave. I doubt I would see one with the dog with me. Hes just too noisy. But I would take lots of photos!
They need to put warning signs up along the trails for women. They leave tissue that they wiped their self with could leave an interesting scent for a horny boar bear. The next time she squats to pee she might have a tussle that she was not planning on. Thanks for a great video. I hope to meet up with you someday on a trail. I go to the Citico and Tellico area a lot. I live about 5 mi from Fall Creek Falls State Park. But those areas around Citico and Tellico are my favorite in all of Tennessee. Be great to meet up with you some day. Be safe out there.
My neighbor looks much like a bear!! So probably about the same. He has very little reaction to any animal, squirrel, deer, bird. He has been taught to leave them alone. But he is also taught to bite and fight on command. So Hopefully, he just wouldn't out run me !! LOL I'm sure he would react the same way I would...
@@hellopolly2691 He's not allowed to drink yet. He is really only 19, he has to be 21 to drink. 3 more months, but I'm not buying him good stuff. He can drink budwieser
@@GoingNoWhereFast Sounds fair. Legal drinking age here is 18. The same age you can be sent into combat as.If you are in the Military. That is why it is set at 18. My dog enjoys the odd brew. Sometimes knocks over mine if she doesn't get one and licks up the spilled beverage. I have seen people in the country pubs go out and offer their horses tied up out side a beer. The horses can "neck" a can in no time. Just don't give them too much or they might not pass the breathalyzer.

I have even seen used tampons on similar trails. Bag it and carry it away please . Some women should be more respectful of the forests and other people. This is not ladylike behaviour.

I can’t stand people that litter!! Here in north ga all our forest road campsites have some sort of litter. Those people don’t deserve to have access to our beautiful nature.
Its so sad, all we can do though is clean it up and talk to other campers about making sure the place is clean when they leave! Thanks for the comment !

Actually he is soooo smart! To get it over the river.... What a hoot!
And hen on the other side he just drops it and leaves it! LOL. It was just a puzzle to solve !

@@GoingNoWhereFast I fly fish as much for the scenery as I do the fishing. Working on a couple of YT vids now and will be posted soon.
Akela, you are one determined dog! I like that! Another beautiful hike. Thank you.
I think he keeps up pretty well for an old man. At five years old I think that makes him summer around 45 in dog years.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing

Hey Rick, Have u ever come across a bear and what would you do if you did?

I think i have seen too many scarey bear movies..
Nice camping by the river! Awful people leaving trash!
I guess that is what to expect during a pandemic, just carry extra trash bags is you visit after a major holiday! Sad, but correctable.
Who was filming for you at the river?
Its just sitting on a tripod. I carry the camera on a little tripod so I can set it down anywhere.
