    Very informative
    1. You haven’t mentioned HSBC Bank?
    2. If we open Account in any of Tier-1 bank, does we have to be legal resident of that country. If no, what are those banks and countries please.
    3. Can we link my Account in different branches say if I open Account in Delhi HSBC and Canada HSBC, can I inter-link these these Accounts?

    • @MichaelRosmer
      @MichaelRosmer 3 роки тому +2

      Yeah HSBC mostly isn't nearly as good as advertised. I'm not quite sure why, probably due to regulations but in general banks don't work well across borders. Really, if you want that functionality the best place to go is somewhere like transferwise.
      As for opening accounts in tier 1 banks as non residents yes it can be possible but it's bank by bank and it's always changing. Even a bunch of what I included in this video has changed since I created this video.

      @@OffshoreCitizen Excellent. Thank you. As an aside, I noticed you singled out Wells Fargo as a bank you didn't consider to be favorable. I've banked with them in a corporate setting for a company I formerly worked for and based on service alone, I can say I concur. However, I thought it pertinent to mention that many of the "retired" vloggers from the USA that have relocated specifically to the Philippines (usually under the former SRRV that may soon return after revamp), that a vast number of them insist on getting a Wells Fargo account before leaving the USA because they are the only US bank (according to them) that facilitates direct bank-to-bank account transfers between personal accounts instantaneously. Otherwise, in most circumstances, you're dealing with a wire or account transfer that takes upwards of 21 days. For context, I am a US citizen strongly considering planting one of my flags in the Philippines or Malaysia.

      Well I don't think of bitcoin as very equivalent. I'd view something like Dai more that way. As an investment I've been openly bullish in crypto this year having invested a fair portion of my liquid assets myself.
      I'd love to see a world where I could transact 100% in crypto but right now we're a long ways away from that so unfortunately, we tend to need real banks. If we're lucky the payment rails will get to the point over the next several years that you don't need a bank account but I think governments will resist that so we'll see.

      Offshore banking is the practice of keeping money in a bank account located in a different country than the account holder’s home country. There are many reasons why people choose to do this, including the potential for tax benefits, asset protection, convenience, security, privacy, and higher interest rates. However, there are also some risks associated with offshore banking, including the high costs of setting up and maintaining an account, the possibility that the offshore bank could default, and increased regulatory scrutiny. 5:55 [Bankrate]
