This effect can't trigger AFTER your opponent plays a Battlecry minion because the Battlecry Phase happens between the On Play Phase and the After Play/After Summon Phase (see the Advanced Rulebook: hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Advanced_rulebook). I'm actually the one that made the card lol. My whole idea for making it was that there wasn't currently a way to stop battlecries and silencing doesn't do that. Deathrattles can be silenced, but not battlecries. The idea felt like it'd be a rouge card since they tend to do sneaky stuff. Wording definitely could have been better and adding draw a card to it, was something I didn't even think of since it is a pretty niche card idea. The idea came to me after playing so many odd warriors with the minion (can't remember it's name) that's Battlecry deals 5 damage split between all non mech minions.
The point of the card was to negate battlecries. I know it's an old comment but battlecries are WAY too strong now. There is no way to stop them and there really should be. I think a secret that negates them would be good. Maybe one for all classes too?
@@kennethokubo3435 HealZoo and Dr.2 2x shadowstep had turn1/2 combos that literally won them the game and that's why they were so good. Plus ANY deck can add this combo because they're all neutral. every deck would probably have these 4 cards in them because it would be too strong, same reason why Ziliax is in every deck right now.
The Jokesayer can still be buffed after it silences all minions. Because it's silenced, it won't trigger its start if turn effect so Divine Spirit + Inner Fire is still dangerous.
if im not mistaken togwaggle says "Choose" and not "Discover". even though youre basically discovering, im sure we all know how weird HS card text can be sometimes.

Your jokesayer 'fix' isn't a fix, you play it turn two and at the start of turn 3 it silences itself you divine spirit inner fire it and get a 14/14 and next turn it stays a 14/14 since it was silenced and no longer has the effect.
The problem isn't that it is a 7 health minion that you can put divine spirit/inner fire on. The problem is that it is a 7 health minion you can DS/IF that also silences any taunts out of the way, and it makes it difficult for decks that don't have hard removal to establish anything meaningful on the board. With trump's change it only gets one turn, so it can't lock down the game entirely.
The rogue secret won't work. Battlecries trigger an ? Resolve before secrets. It's the reason why Kezan Mystic, Chief Inspector, and Eater of Secrets work.
OK, hold up. Zenbot is basically a 1 mana +3/+3 buff on a mech, and we can compare that with Blessing of Kings which costs 4 mana and gives only 1 more Health and Attack AND Zenbot is neutral, unlike Kings. THEN we got Blessing of Might, which is a 1 mana give only +3 attack, and that's a class card as well. How is Zenbot a 5 star balance?
But that makes it even more flexible, no? Like he showed, it can be used independently with the Dalaran Librarian as just a 1 mana 3/3, while the Paladin buffs can't. No way is that thing even close to 5 stars balance.
If you magnetize, it has can't attack, so all it can do is taunt. If you don't magnetize, it needs silence synergy which probably ends up being worse than something like happy ghoul (but still powerful, especially given the newly low power level of standard).
@@werewolfking65 but how is it flexible as a buff. you can only use it as a defensive buff, and cant silence the "can't attack" if u use it as a buff. buffs are strongest when u use it and can attack straight away which zenbot cannnot. sure silence priest can utilise this as a 1 mana 3/3, but then again ur relying having it turn 1 with a cheap silence as well, using a 2 card combo.
Battlemage balance prob more like 2 stars. Bad cards that require other bad cards to be good are also bad cards. Cool concept and flavorful, but prob needs to be a 3/4.

Also of note with Yogg's Scheme - Yogg was a little more balanced post-nerf, because the spells would stop casting if in the process of his chain, he destroyed/silenced/bounced/transformed himself, whereas this scheme wouldn't stop unless a player died (basically, it's a pre-nerf Yogg without the body - which people weren't playing him for at all).

Yogg-Saron's Scheme is completely unworkable a design, because not having Yogg-Saron's body is *objectively a buff* since he can't kill himself and end the spell storm early.

The idea came to me after playing so many odd warriors with the minion (can't remember it's name) that's Battlecry deals 5 damage split between all non mech minions.
The point of the card was to negate battlecries.
I know it's an old comment but battlecries are WAY too strong now. There is no way to stop them and there really should be.
I think a secret that negates them would be good. Maybe one for all classes too?

@@kennethokubo3435 HealZoo and Dr.2 2x shadowstep had turn1/2 combos that literally won them the game and that's why they were so good. Plus ANY deck can add this combo because they're all neutral. every deck would probably have these 4 cards in them because it would be too strong, same reason why Ziliax is in every deck right now.
The Jokesayer can still be buffed after it silences all minions. Because it's silenced, it won't trigger its start if turn effect so Divine Spirit + Inner Fire is still dangerous.
Also incredibly dangerous addition to the already good silence priest this format

if im not mistaken togwaggle says "Choose" and not "Discover". even though youre basically discovering, im sure we all know how weird HS card text can be sometimes.

Your jokesayer 'fix' isn't a fix, you play it turn two and at the start of turn 3 it silences itself you divine spirit inner fire it and get a 14/14 and next turn it stays a 14/14 since it was silenced and no longer has the effect.
The problem isn't that it is a 7 health minion that you can put divine spirit/inner fire on. The problem is that it is a 7 health minion you can DS/IF that also silences any taunts out of the way, and it makes it difficult for decks that don't have hard removal to establish anything meaningful on the board. With trump's change it only gets one turn, so it can't lock down the game entirely.

The rogue secret won't work. Battlecries trigger an ? Resolve before secrets. It's the reason why Kezan Mystic, Chief Inspector, and Eater of Secrets work.
OK, hold up. Zenbot is basically a 1 mana +3/+3 buff on a mech, and we can compare that with Blessing of Kings which costs 4 mana and gives only 1 more Health and Attack AND Zenbot is neutral, unlike Kings. THEN we got Blessing of Might, which is a 1 mana give only +3 attack, and that's a class card as well. How is Zenbot a 5 star balance?

But that makes it even more flexible, no? Like he showed, it can be used independently with the Dalaran Librarian as just a 1 mana 3/3, while the Paladin buffs can't. No way is that thing even close to 5 stars balance.
If you magnetize, it has can't attack, so all it can do is taunt. If you don't magnetize, it needs silence synergy which probably ends up being worse than something like happy ghoul (but still powerful, especially given the newly low power level of standard).
@@werewolfking65 but how is it flexible as a buff. you can only use it as a defensive buff, and cant silence the "can't attack" if u use it as a buff. buffs are strongest when u use it and can attack straight away which zenbot cannnot. sure silence priest can utilise this as a 1 mana 3/3, but then again ur relying having it turn 1 with a cheap silence as well, using a 2 card combo.

Battlemage balance prob more like 2 stars. Bad cards that require other bad cards to be good are also bad cards. Cool concept and flavorful, but prob needs to be a 3/4.

Also of note with Yogg's Scheme - Yogg was a little more balanced post-nerf, because the spells would stop casting if in the process of his chain, he destroyed/silenced/bounced/transformed himself, whereas this scheme wouldn't stop unless a player died (basically, it's a pre-nerf Yogg without the body - which people weren't playing him for at all).

I'm actually the one that made the card lol. My whole idea for making it was that there wasn't currently a way to stop battlecries and silencing doesn't do that. Deathrattles can be silenced, but not battlecries.

Yogg-Saron's Scheme is completely unworkable a design, because not having Yogg-Saron's body is *objectively a buff* since he can't kill himself and end the spell storm early.
