we can export all views SKP from revit to dwg in one click - in menu export click to "export: " - "in-session view/sheet set", then click to "Show in list" - "Views in the model", and mark all 3d view "SKP"
It doesn't always work like that. Because when I export a drawing all together, editing it in sketchup explodes up my walls into strange forms and not one single wall or face!. I found this way very helpful..

The start of the Revit->Sketchup->Vray->Photoshop series, here's the best way to export a Revit model to Sketchup so you can eventually render it with Vray :)
Whoa, man! I haven't even started applying your tips (which seem to be pretty non-conventional and super pro) but I already know I'm about to watch all your vids as you do it in the most desired way possible - quick, clear and so funny! Keep up this work my Master! :D
wow man this took lots of time for you to make the video! but the result is awesome :D tnx and obviously, right subscribed to see more videos like this
Bruh, great video content my friend. Finally someone found a way to make tutorial videos interesting and fun! I was fully engaged the entire time and learned lot is just 10mins! You are one of the only people ive seen that actually do summaries at the end and show shortcut commands on the video, it helps retain the information alot more :) i wish you did more Revit videos. One question thou, why do you use Vray instead of the Revit renderer ?
Thank you so much for watching and your positive comment :D The reason why I use Vray in Sketchup is because it's a lot easy to adjust materials and add components and entourage in Sketchup. I'm just a lot better at it than the built-in render engine of Revit :D
When I do this, my model is imported with colors and materials aren't editable, like I can't change the green color the walls were imported with even after changing them from layers they're still green. What can I do about that?
@@monicahsu4942 you have to enter materials tab and delete the colour that painted in your model. your model will be white and you can edit any material in your model

A simpler way is to *Export as ACIS solids* Then you can delete the materials in Sketchup and choose yours painting the groups with the bucket and switching the layers to help the organization. But still a very funny tutorial to watch. Thanks for the creativity!
hey this was excellent. I also like to make hide rest of model a shortcut in sketchup to speed up render time when the model is very detailed... thanks.
Great tips in here! As stated, due to this being a few years old...there may be new methods. I’ve learned the potential of Transmutr from Minh’s other vids and purchased it. Very powerful and though it may be able to allow for a smooth FBX workflow by borrowing some tips from this vid. After doing some testing with different exporters, I found decent results in setting up isolated Revit views by system, exporting with Twinmotions free FBX exporter, running through Transmutr for correction of scale/up axis and material mapping. Still not painless but better than the old days.
Thank you so much for the awesome comment Taylor! I didn't even think about bringing Revit to Sketchup using Transmutr.😮 thank you so much for your support on Patreon too! Working on a new model and more materials for you guys 😊 will upload a post about it soon!
Nice trick. Have you tried using filters based on materials? It might elevate the select/hide requirement. Just a thought. Thanks for this. What do you do if you want the exterior of the wall to show as one material and the interior to show as another? I'm working on a construction phasing and need to show exterior walls being installed with brick on the outside and concrete-ish material on the inside. Thanks.
Yeah you can definitely do that too. I'm just not used to working with materials in Revit so I usually just export them per category. Hm I think you can use the paint tool to do that can't you?
Problem I found is that Autodesk uses what's called (in 3ds Max at least) multi-sub materials. That means it is one material that houses several component materials. This is common in doors and windows where you'll have an overall "window" material that contains the glass, the mullions, and frame, maybe the hardware, etc. all as sub-materials to the larger. This makes material changes for Revit objects like this problematic in SketchUp.
Hello, i have some problem here the imported item from revit have some colors(not white/default like in the video) and materials in sketchup can’t change that color. Any solutions for this problem? 🙏
hi sir, thanks sir, but sir i have a problem,I have successfully converted sketchup to revit, but when I want to render in enscape, the item from the sketchup becomes gray color without material. Is there a solution or not for my problem?
I just select parts of the model that I want to hide and right click - hide in view - elements/category. but yes! you can definitely use the section-box to hide the rest of the model too 😄
No problem! ah it's a lot of different extensions that I had on there. But some useful ones are Tools on Surface, 1001 Bit tools, Make Fur, Joint Push Pull, Round Corner, Selection toys. Hope that helps!
Hey +Architecture Inspirations priciate all the videos! They are very helpful! So Im trying to decide to either buy V-ray for Sketchup or V-ray for Revit as it is now available. Which combo do you think would be better and what are a few pros/cons ? Thanks in advance!

@pure0ponage Yeah me too I have the same issue, it's really weird! that shouldn't happen. I mean.. I've been working in meters, so if I export the model to meters it has to be the same (?)
+André Martin hm that's super odd, I use imperial, feet and inches in both software so it import just fine. I didn't have to adjust any settings for it to be at the correct scale 🤔
Thank you so much for the amazing tutorial.♥️ If I import my model to sketchup, do the objects keep their material? I mean can I have a vray render in sketch up from the model and its materials which were assigned to it in revit? (I am not a native English speaker, so that question was hard as F to ask. Hope it was clear😫)
Looks super simple - However my main problem/challenge is, that when I have a project, Windows are families. Meaning that glass are imbedded in the family. And there are often many types of different windows, hence many different families. Is there a way to tag or categorize the "material" glass, so that you can (ex. in vray) apply by tag?
Hi great tutorial man, but pls I'm having problems when i import my model to SketchUp, i noticed that i can't apply material to any component properly. For example my walls, whenever i apply material to my walls import the material is applied in between the wall thickness rather than the surfaces of the walls

If that doesn't work, probably your model wall's correctly joined in revit so try joining them and ensuring that there's no walls doubling up on each other. ✌️
