Mike Hill is going places. The first video I watched of him, the T2 video, I was trying to figure out who he was. At first I thought he was a Hollywood production doctor, someone that some high-powered producer might keep in their back pocket. -It's like a magician beckoning you backstage to show you how the tricks work. Mike Hill videos feel like something I should be paying a subscription for.
what many people are missing with VR is the fact that immersion is the key and you don't need 360 for that, 180 is fine and you can still direct the viewer in 180 spheres.
Disappointing to see Stranger Things brushed off so easily. That series is so much more than the visual era aesthetic it's emulating. Fantastic storytelling with structure and thematic depth - it's a mistake to brush it off as shallow nostalgia.
Agreeing here about Stranger Things. Now, it's no Fury Road for sure, but I personally felt there were some great larger themes at play. Childhood fear and detachment, loneliness, and just general human fear and longing were very present in the series. It's no Kubrik, but I don't feel it's on the same level as Michael Bay lol.
Mike Hill is legendary. Learned so much through this.
Glad to hear someone talk about how awesome Denis Villeneuve is!

Stranger things great for people who don't know better.
@@MK_337 This. I have so much love for that aesthetic but it was a brutal realization when I found out watching that it was just an empty shell.
