thx Tom for sharing your experience. i was wondering how your miracle green stuff cure was spelled. heres the quote from the HR manual: Use a normal paintbrush and paint the deck with Boracol.
Hi TomIve just found your videos on here tom and been a avid watcher ! ive been around boats since i was 10 my mun and dad had a old wooden ships converted lifeboat at rye harbour many a trip to france as a young lad i currenty own a westerly griffon ive just purchased up from a cirrus ive only done sailing as day thing around our coast from the folly id like to do proper course to bring things up a level and travel further so im asking what would be your suggestion . Kind regards paul Brown
Lovely, lovely, lovely. I've sailed a bit, maybe 50,000 miles under the keel, and I was amazed at how many things I agreed with. The only boat I have any longer is a ten foot tender I made a few years back. I concur with your take on modern boat design, weather, etc. I'm a Californian, and have circumnavigated the globe but not Britain so I'll take your word on that. I slightly disagree, in the mildest terms, with going forward. I agree about the mess of lines in the cockpit with single line reefing, but we had three reefs and a hook at the gooseneck, sort of the opposite, simplest approach. My idea was that it was inevitable that occasionally you need to go forward, so best make it safe and routine. But, counter-intuitively, perhaps, I rigged the reefs on my 22-footer that never went into blue water exactly as you recommend. Be that as it may, I can see the logic in switching the two.🤷♂️ I found this video early in the day, about seven AM, and so I had to foreswear the Pimm's Cup or shot of sour mash that otherwise would gone so perfectly with this talk. I commonly recommend your videos to my sailing students, sans the Pimm's unfortunately, but they truly warm my heart. Best regards and fair winds always.
This is a Gold treasure given for free!!! Thank you very much!

Thanks for this MDL and Tom Cunliffe
Also I use Patio Magic for Algae on my deck, spray hood etc. And oxalic acid for the deck at other times
Great advice as always Tom.
