Same here in Ireland 🇮🇪... adventure bikes dominant now... easier to deal with poor road surfaces id guess....🤔🤔
Regarding young folk it's same ....Little or no interest.... cheap cars and insurance policies means a 4 wheels winning out...
Back in the day ( late 1980s i was 19) insurance was astronomical if you wanted to drive 4 wheels.... so bikes were the next best option. 100cc was about affordable...125cc was significantly more expensive. I think this is part of the reason why there is an older demographic in the biker world..
Love your channel dude..❤ you're the real deal !👍👍

I think there are a lot of factors involved in buying a particular bike beyond its functionality. I think image and other social factors contribute a fair bit to a lot of people's choices. If you're inclined to get along with and relate more to people who ride sport bikes, you'll probably like to buy one, even though they may not suit your personal needs as much as another type. People might not like this, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. If your bike provides you a way of connecting with like minded people that's a win in my books. I primarily go for torque, comfort and retro looks, so I got a GSX1400. I was looking at a Bandit1250s, but I didn't think it looked cool enough for a 28 year old haha!

We were talking about this today, that you NEVER see sports bikes on the road anymore. I worked as a technician for Honda back in early 2000's and the market was booming. A lot of it comes down to price where you could pick up a brand new 600 with disposable income (in cash), today you've no chance.... £24,000 for a 30th anniversary Fireblade!? Standard Repsol Blades used to leave our place at £8000

Thats awful lot of adventure bikes and it makes sense cause of their ages , young people prefer more agressive bikes and maybe some guys like trail riding and adventure bikes too

If you're not going off road why have an off road bike... I bought a mint GSF1200 off a guy a couple of years back..same age as me ( 65 now ), so bike was looked after...his mates had been moving into duals so he thought he needed to match... he'd already bought a V Strom 1000 so got the Bandit fairly cheap... I challenged him on the v Strom .. he needed a small step ladder to climb onto the thing... I'm about to get back into another bike..my options I'm weighing up ... 04 CB1300, 04 GSX1400, 05 XJR1300, 06 ZZR1200, 03 FJR1300, 07 GSF1250... They're all around 50-60,000 km..the dearest is the FJR £3500 the cheapest the Bandit £2750 .. all in excellent nick as all owned by older guys.. also possible odd ball Breva V1100..hmmmm my brain hurts....🤔

I have heard good reports on the 1250 bandit apparently a nice smooth engine and good fuel economy from the water cooled engine ,I’ve not ridden one but it looks good on paper at least.
But as you say it depends on what you want to use it for.

I own a GSX1400. Top notch bike! Depending on where you live, you can snatch the odd one up for pretty cheap. A lot of bang for the buck.

Yes perhaps it’s more about following the latest fashion, I don’t see many adventure bikes covered in mud 😀

Yea I hate sports touring bikes. I had one. I couldn’t put both my feet down at a stop light. I ride sport bikes, looking to get into sports cruiser though. IE Indian Scout Bobber/Chief or Vulcan s 650

It's because the youth have been propagandised into environmentalism, electric vehicles and spending all their time in front of computers and smartphones...
