      It is more complicated than that. This is a very sad situation, but the situation is more complicated then you may be seeing it. -- I think blaming it simply on bail reform is not the problem, however bail reform does need to be looked at because we see a problem. -- First ask why do we have a bail system and what is the purpose. -- The purpose has to do with the value of innocent until proven guilty. Also, there is another issue that many Americans, mostly WHITE (no disrespect meant, but let's just be honest), hate to talk about is how the justice system are more likely to lock up Blacks for the exact same crime and with the exact same history. -- Whites for example who do drugs are more likely led towards treatment and rehabilitation, while Blacks are more often punished. -- Even with violent crimes, put a Black person before the judge and a White person before a judge or a jury for the exact same crime and with the exact same history, the data shows that there is a large bias against Blacks, and I think the bail reform is trying to address that problem. -- Sometimes it helps because innocent people are giving their time to wait for court, and other times it doesn't. Every system has risk, it is about balance. -- If we just locked up everyone and give them no bail that would be an injustice, but if we let everyone go, until court and didn't keep anyone, that would also lead to problems. It is complicated and human error will happen somewhere. We just need to tweak the system to fine tune the balance. It is very complicated. I'm sure for example if someone falsely accused you of a crime, you would think it an injustice for you to wait in jail as an innocent man. I don't know the answer, but I know it is not as simple as you make it. -- For example I live in an area where the ENTIRE police department has been suspended, the ENTIRE ( apnews.com/article/ridgely-maryland-police-department-suspended-3b5f624b8257081d91b46d125acf8f65 ) , now do you think that they likely falsely arrested many people? Probably so. Such an environment which we live in is the reason why people push for more bail reform, to counteract the corruption and racism in the system. It is complicated.

      @@wala-nehlabala6419An individual with 23 previous arrests has no business being on the streets. Either he/she suffers from deep mental issues that need to be treated before the person is back in the street or the individual is just a sociopath that doesn't care about killing or hurting someone else...in which case, he/she belongs to a place where they cannot hurt others (I guess that place is jail or a cage above an active volcano). The current outcry about the bail reform is because most of the people that have been perpetrating crimes in NYC have a common denominator, can you guess what that is? Rap sheets. So, yes, there are definitely several issues with it. Catch and release is not working. This city is getting worse by the minute due to politicians that rather prostitute the city with their attitude in order to get the votes and approval from certain segments....

    They had prior gun charges convicted felons . through public records you can find out who the prosecutor and the judge was to let Them know they can’t let criminals go , these criminals repeat the crimes being a judge and the prosecutor they should know that . it’s very similar to the borders being wide-open on purpose They need to change the laws with these criminals Now

      It could have been prevented if he simply told the occupants to keep it moving, not attempt a felony stop, for a non moving traffic violation. Citizens have the right to bear arms, even criminals, the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. Treason is a capital offense, and violation of your oath is treason, people have the right to bear arms to protect against government actors more so than to protect against other citizens. Also, police truly have no right to bother any one unless an actual crime has occured where some human has suffered an injury. Illegally parked at a bus stop while still occupying the vehicle is a perfect example of the type of double talk these forked tongue devils get away with, either the car was parked or it was occupied, can't be both. They are liars, and all liars will have their part in the lake that is fire, seems like Karma is coming faster, the law is simple Love God, and Love your neighbor as you love yourself, or do unto others as you would have others do unto you. I doubt dead man Diller would have liked it if he was forced out his car by armed men for simply stopping at or near a bus stop.

    Being a Police Officer can be dangerous at times... Just like being in the infantry and being deployed to an active combat zone... There are inherent risks. I completed two combat deployments to Iraq, and 3 to Afghanistan. And they definitely were not easy. RIP to the fallen officer, but it's not like he didn't know what he was getting into when he put on the uniform... But one question: Why wasn't there this much outpouring of support when a member of the Armed Forces was killed in Iraq or Afghanistan ????...

      I'm tired to hear this kind of bullshit. Being a police officer is safer than being a taxi driver .. just like being in the infantry deployed at home from where the closest enemy is 1000 miles away. And how many of our brothers have been killed by a cowardly yellowbelly police officer who has only a few weeks of training and no clue what PSTD is. Putting somebody's life on the line every day, but newer their own.

    This poor officer was left laying on the ground behind the car of the suspects. He was mortally wounded shot in the stomach. He lay there screaming in pain no one came to his assistance. No ambulance because no location was provided. Poor Jonathon was eventually put in the back seat of a car that didn’t leave right away. This is so the worst thing I have seen for how a poor officer was left unattended while mortally injured. My heart breaks. What is wrong. Where was the compassion

    Over parking? 😅😅😅

    • @FredNewsome
      @FredNewsome 2 місяці тому

      Exactly, why are you forcing people out of a car for not even parking, because new york city differentiaes between parking and standing. If a driver is in the car it is standing not parking. Parking is driver has exited the vehicle and engine is no longer running. It is not uncommon for NY'ers to pull up somewhere they can't park and wait in the car while a passenger runs into an establishment. The traffic police will just leave a ticket or ask you to move, but there is no interaction, they scan your registration, issue a ticket, and keep it moving. So he died treating a standing violation which is less than parking violation like a felony stop, doing too much.
