برسیم کی کاشت
Berseem is Rabi season fodder with high nutritional value. It contains nodules on roots which fix nitrogen. It is leguminous crop so increases fertility status of soils.
Barseem varietiea: Early variety is Anmol Ageti Berseem
Late Variety: Faisalabad Late, Lylpur berseem late, Pachheti Berseem.
Land Preparation: Laser land leveller is must to get high green fodder yield from Barseem crop.
Sowing Time: Barseem fodder is sown in Start of month October to Mid October.
Seedrate: 8 kg per acre in case of only Berseem cultivation.
Mix cropping: It can be grown mixed with Mustard, Serson, Canola, Raya, Rai grass and Oat.
Number of cuttings: 6 to 7 cuttings can be obtained in a season from Berseem crop.
Fertilizer Requirements: 1.5 bags DAP at Land Preparation time
Use nitrogenous fertilizers such as Urea, Ammonium Sulphate etc after every cutting.
Irrigations: Weekly irrigations
Rhyzobium inoculum having bacteria could be used to treat seeds to take high green fodder yields.
Berseem can be cultivated in all irrigated areas of Punjab Pakistan.
