    You explained illocutionary speech very well, and your examples helped a lot. However, the video section was too fast which made them unhelpful.

      Dun po sa number 9 na ano po maam sa quiz, sabi niu po “its more on suggesting so assertive”,
      Hindi po ba directive pag suggesting??

    Many thanks. But does all negative assertions are speech acts of denial. For example.. there is no evidence that..... Is it asserting or denial?

    Hello ma'am good am! Possible po ba na maging locutionary at illocutionary ang isang statement? Tsaka pano po kapag yung response o reply po nung isang tao sa isang statement ay pagpapasalamat, ibig sabihin po ba nun di na po siya perlocution?       some acts are possible. especially declaring statements.
      speech acts are quite difficult as there are many considerations to make. but knowing the basic, is enough.Promising is an act of perloctionary..(doing and sayin at the same time)

    Hello, thank you for your video, it's very helpful. But I have a question, how to measure each utterance and categorize it into certain kinds of speech acts? In the last video, your answers are just possible, so there will be other answers depending on who analyzes those utterances. How to apply iFids and felicity conditions to make sure that our answer is not subjective by our assumption?

      opening or closing meeting is more of declarative...it depends upom how you explain it. directives are more of inviting, encouraging, recommending
