Well Turkey gave 12 and 10 points to other countries too, how about Armenia and Cyprus, the only point from Armenia to us is 4 points in 2009 lol
@@ondrejvesely6378 At least Armenia's jury and televote mutually decided on giving Turkey a score. Cyprus voted for you guys a handful of times (both the Cypriot jury and televote gave Turkey a score in 2009 but it was too low to register on the final scoreboard).

I'm proud to be live in that country that gave the first 12 points to Azerbaijan.
And my country gave the last 12 points, but like Italy our goal was not to give to the favourites.
We gave every year untill we left eurovision

Israel and Greece have given Azerbaijan decent marks a bunch of times, the former a bit more than the latter. Israel's also received a lot of good marks from Azerbaijan over the years.
Truthfully, the only country that gave Azerbaijan 12 that year where my brain didn’t automatically go “yeah, that makes sense” was Austria.
Azerbaijan is actually the one of the few Muslim majority who recognized Israel and has close ties to it,along with Turkey (before Erdogan became president)

The fact they scored so many more 12's and a total of 13 more points in their runner up year (2013) than their actual winning year (2011), even with less countries voting too. Bit of an impressive stat there.

To break it down for 2013:
Austria - decent-sized diaspora, they also might have just liked it. The least obvious.
Bulgaria - general fondness for Turkic countries, known for voting for Azerbaijan (except ironically enough the year they won)
Georgia - Fellow Caucasian country
Greece - Greek composer and staging director, general fondness for melodramatic songs like that
Hungary - Azeri diaspora, also known for voting for Azerbaijan in the past
Israel - strong foreign relations, decent diaspora
Lithuania - general love of the Caucasus (same reason they like voting for Georgia)
Malta - fondness for that kind of music, plus the vague hint of a possibility that they bought Maltese votes four years in a row like Malta bought votes from Spain and Croatia in the ‘90s but that’s just speculation
Montenegro - general fondness for Eastern European countries (they also like voting for Russia and Armenia a lot)
Russia - they’re very tight (although Azerbaijan didn’t give Russia anything that year - last time that ever happened, let me tell you)

Qnd u didn’t manage to get Top 10 after ‘13 (only in 2019).Thats because the EBU paid more attention since 2013 that nobody can buy votes.

You can say we didn't deserve winning in 2011 i may agree with you because tastes are different but buying votes is different kind of accusing. Only songs i like from my country are 2009 and 2013. İn 2017 Portugal and İtaly gave us 12 points. Maybe those countries never knew about our country before. Did we bribe them too?

you can see where azerbaijan started to "buy votes", particulary with Malta, with them giving azerbaijan 12 points 4 times in a row, and when the EBU strengthenth their punishments for buying votes, it suddenly stopped. coincidence? probably, probably not, but it seems weird since some of the only countries that vote for azerbaijan, is former soviet sattelite states and turkey (2008-2012)
Turkey is not joining the eurovision since 2012 thats why we cant give 12 points to 🇦🇿
