- This is video #137 in my Final Fantasy VII playthrough. The party approaches the controls of the Sister Ray to find Hojo at the controls. As I show here, the scene will be a little different if Vincent is in the party. It looks like Hojo has done some strange things to himself. For the upcoming boss battle, it's a pretty good idea to have two Ribbons on, as well as a Poison Ring or a Peace Ring or something else to prevent status ailments.
In his first form, he will use Capsule to summon a Bad Rap Sample and a Poodler Sample. Just ignore these monsters and attack Hojo. When he says he wants to see how the Mako juice is reacting, he turns into Helletic Hojo with two targetable arms. Group attacks such as Aqualung and Magic Breath are useful here. In his final form, he is Lifeform-Hojo NA. He is able to inflict silence, and his Combo attack is able to inflict Poison, Darkness, and Sleep. If you come prepared, this battle is not too hard.

When part 3 of the remake comes I want Vincent to be the one that kills Hojo. It’s the least he could do.
Vincent deserves to enact such sweet vengeance after everything.
@@ZeldaLover6 Just imagine: Phase 1 - Vincent Clubs him so hard he knocks a tooth out, and all party members physically restrain him before Vincent simply throws him off the cannon... to which he comes back in his belle tic form, looking straight out of resident evil as usual.
It definitely needs to end in a more climactic way - hojo was arguably more evil then even sepiroth and deserved much more of a villains ending then he got.
I feel like hojo and sephiroth would make legendary bosses in the remake
I want both Nanaki & Vincent to get their justice

@@barsardasahin232 Because it's personal between them. Hojo stole Vincent's girlfriend and used her as a test subject to conceive Sephiroth. Then he shot Vincent and experimented on him, turning him into a shapeshifting monster. Worst of all, Vincent thought he was responsible for his girlfriend's death and blamed himself for it. His self-hatred was so profound that he chose to remain locked away in the basement of Shinra mansion as punishment for his "sins", when Hojo was actually the one responsible for everything. That's why he says that Hojo should have been the one who slept instead of him.

Hojo never stole shit. Gosh, DOC was just a pathetic attempt to make it seem like Vince and Lucrecia had something when in the OG she completely rejected him and offered her son alongside Hojo WILLINGLY to gast for the jenova project. Yall gotta stop projecting that false narrative, Lucrecia was garbage just like Hojo and gast.
I just played it today i had Yuffie and Barret but ran back to the save to get Vincent and Cid for the battle lol
I took Red and Vincent because they both stated they had a score to settle with hojo, but you should temporarily take Barret up the stairs just before you meet hojo because his ultimate weapon will only appear on the staircase if he is in the party. After I grabbed his weapon, I then went back down the stairs to the save point and put red back in the party.
i forgot to change Barret for Red

I now take Vincent and Red as the guys in this fight just for the vengeance part of it. Feels like justice served winning the battle with Cloud, Red and Vincent.
I done exactly that for the same reason but was disappointed with the dialogue, thought it would of been a bit deeper. I came here to see how other characters respond and saw your comment lol
I forgot to take Red because of Barret's ultimate weapon,
You know I think Vincent should be a required character for this part of the game. I mean, sure he is just an extra support character but this still is important to him.
Important to red xiii too, all 3 characters were his test subjects. If you you speak to red after parachuting down to midgar, he even says he has a score to settle with hojo.

After all that, Vincent told Hojo to rest in peace.
Imagine the true nightmare of Hojo's transformation from his POV, when Jenova's cells completely overtook the host body, costing him all control and his humanity, but perhaps not his consciousness. Now THAT would be true slavery and the full physical manifestation of demonic possession down to the cellular level. It's also of note: those are the same cells that turned even the Cetra mad. He was probably in mental anguish the entire time after his transformation.
So, yeah. Good guy Vincent. Rest in peace, Hojo. Glad you were put out of your delusion/misery.
I would rewrite the line to make Vincent say "Go to hell Hojo" instead of Rest in peace, That line alone is more accurate to Vincent's character.
Hojo doesn't deserve peace after everything he did.

@@thewardenofoz3324 Oh yeah, Cause Vincent totally isn't edgy and shouldn't rightfully disdain Hojo for psychologically abusing his crush. He should also be very happy and thankful to Hojo for making him suffer by torturing him and turning him into the lab freak of a frankenstein he is.
Not to mention even the game itself made in the 90's already has some corny dialogues that's even worse than what I put out. So I don't know what you mean by lame garbage writing.
@@ZenithOptical42 I mean lame garbage writing. FF7 has good dialogue where it counts. Nowhere did I say Vincent should be "thankful to Hojo." However, Hojo literally went mad, warped himself into a monster and got slain like the dumb beast he chose to be. Justice was done, Vincent knew that, Vincent pitied his idiotic choices, and Vincent forgave him to free himself. I'm glad they showed Vincent was free from vindictiveness rather than making him into the archetypical forever c*nt. It's boring, it's hackneyed, it's how most humans are, and it's honest to Christ why they don't deserve paradise in this world in the first place.

Maybe in part 3 cuz the game got spilt up into three parts along with future dlc which is absolute bullshit
Its because of hojo so much of the story happens in the game. Jenova, sepiroth, the soldier experiments, killing him is cathartic

Man.....part 1 remake won't have this fight but I'm just here to think about the good times and remember how great this game is.

Yep. But I’m hype to see Vincent in P2 next month! I know he and Cid won’t be playable, but I’m still so happy they’re both appearing.

I can't tell if "Helletic" is a mistranslation or a clever portmanteau. It seems like it's supposed to be "heretic" because of of the R/L confusion, but it could just be a mix of "heretic" and "hell"
This was uploaded on my 8th birthday.
That Hojo!!! He fucked me up about two times and I was already with 5500 HP on all characters, especially when Lifeform-Hojo came up, he used to put me all characters to sleep + poison and then kill all of them with his lame moves.
However on the third time I was faster than him, and before he puts all 3 characters to sleep, I prepared a MASSIVE-ATTACK with Cloud, Cid and Caith Sith final weapons along with Bahamut ZERO...the result was about 16000 (or more) damage in a very short period (on my final attack I only had Cloud as active character since Cid and Caith Sith were already sleeping).
Hojo's Spirit shall return at FF7 Dirge of Cerberus Game and He possessed Weiss the Immaculate Leader of the Tsviets
Hojo's final transformation was so hard to beat! My magic and summon abilities didn't even affect him that much. Am I missing something?
just use some accessory that blocks sleep, this makes him much easier

@@nourzrx7843 well, on my first playthrough some months ago I also faced this boss without sleep immunity, and I beat it on my first try, but with 2 characters dead and the last one almost dead

No. This is the final boss of the second disc
I think there's a way to skip this entire part but it wasn't intended by the developers, and you miss on important items like Barret final weapon and the w-item materia

Hellmasker seems pretty useless, even on a boss fight.
That’s why I brought in Chaos and let him go to town in my playthrough.
Vinces limits are a bit hit and miss, if you recruit him early in the game they are godly but late on they don't really help at all.
What a shame...
This has got to be the very worst thing that Hojo has ever done!
