Yes! It's so hard to believe that The Osmonds recorded "One Bad Apple" there. It was so surreal for them. Some of the biggest names in Music sang Muscle Shoals Praises. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood (The Rolling Stones) as well as Steve Winwood. I heard that when she sang for Queen Elizabeth the poor woman got so into the music her crown almost came off.

Good point. A childhood is so precious and you can't get it back when you loose it. For all that Aretha achieved, that was the price she paid, plus loosing her mother right before her 10th birthday.
You know you're a BOSS when you're smoking a cigarette during an interview!!.... look closely you can see the smoke.... hahahahahahaha... we see you Dionne.@5:41
Death befalls us all black Brown and white the sting of death is not racist we all die like Adam and Eve who passed death 💀☠ 👻👽 to their offspring 😈👿!!
How did this interview miss the WHOLE 70’s Aretha?? She had accomplished sooooo much in her career during this whole era and decade as well…I’m lost on that😂…don’t just do my girl💜
Fantasia wud always do Aretha justice wen she wud do tributes to her and on the Soul Train music Awards she did DON'T PLAY THAT SONG FOR ME and in 2 minutes and 36 seconds Fantasia stood on that stage in one place and sang that damn song but wen Aretha speak about Fantasia she kind of has this animosity in her voice towards her. I guess people consider Fantasia baby Patti. Fantasia luv Aretha and Patti cuz she has that soul of the both of them. #RIPQUEENOFSOUL😍👑😍👑
My parents never trusted preachers...never....my father was a carpenter...and did a lot of work around town....He used to tell us as children about the preachers homes he worked on...and how they hired him to for jobs on their women's homes also....He always told us that preachers were no good and a bunch of thieves...stealing from their members....using the church funds for themselves and their women....My mother never really had any real church home...my dad always read the Bible...and spoke truths to us as children...but trusted no man...and no preacher....God fearing....but trusted no preacher period...
It’s so hard for me to feel sympathy or compassion for her father’s comatose state... I honestly think her father molested her and is the father of her oldest child that she had at 12 years old. If he’s not the father, he KNOWS what molester did it 🥺 Aretha went through A LOT as a child when her mother left her and it makes me wonder how much the Jennifer Hudson biopic will touch on 😣😣
It's the way some things were in the south (particularly). People always covered and protected the predator in the family. This is why there are so many hidden traumas with men and women alike. It can always be traced to that predator in the family.
I agree. I've seen the Genius series with Cynthia and just saw the biopic with J Hud. This mysterious young boy character that they keep bringing up as the one who raped her just doesn't make sense. They never identify him and there are discrepancies. I know folks say she mentions the father in her will, but that may have been for saving face. Since her father is a widely known child predator, this could definitely be the case. She faced some intense trauma and it is a blessing she made it through. I truly do believe her gospel album was her way to heal herself and her trauma.
Y R , I tried to find something on Ted White`s whereabouts as well and came up with nothing. I was thinking maybe he passed away some years back but it is odd that there is no info on whether he is still around or passed away . He would be really be way up in age by now if he is still living because he is many years older than Aretha .
He's still alive and he's still trying to get money off Aretha for royalties on songs he co wrote with her He lives in a nursing home in Florida now as does their son Teddy
i almost cried at the scene of her walking into her father’s funeral. she’s now joined him in the everlasting life💯🖤
Such a sweet beautiful spirit.... long live the queen
SHE WOWED ME AMAZING. AN AMAZING MUSICAL QUEEN OF SOUL. MAY SHE REST IN POWER.
"I have, and the kings and queens are here tonight. Oh, yes they are!" That was smooth!

Gentle correction, brother. No need to insight anger in your brother/ sister.
Be an example.
When Dionne Warwick said she could possibly sing Opera I chuckled because this interview was a decade or so before she actually did sing Opera. 🤗
Aretha Franklin simple the best flawless
Thank you Silvano, for sharing this amazing documentary. Im assuming it was produced in the late '80s.
Aretha Franklin was always soooo outstanding....😇🥰💯💪🎤🎼🎵🎶💃👑💜🙏🎹.....Rest ln Music Queen Of SOUL !!!!.......💔💔💔💔

Yes, thank you 😊
Aretha Franklin had such a beautiful voice and spirit. Now she is singing with the heavenly angels.❤❤❤
its funny what was said at 7:07 because she did actually sing opera years after that
In The Freeway Of Love Video she worked with Narada Michael Walden and Sonia Braga who played Theo's Teacher on The Cosby Show.

That haughty spirit is revealing itself in TMHs people with every passing generation. The haughtiness comes through in their worship of TMH first.

When did Aretha ever have time to be a child? She became a mom at the age of 12 and has been working ever since.
Good point. A childhood is so precious and you can't get it back when you loose it. For all that Aretha achieved, that was the price she paid, plus loosing her mother right before her 10th birthday.
And Aretha work so much that she didn't have time to raise her own children. According to the movie her grandmother raise all of her children. 🤷🏽♀️
