I agree, like I’m a firm believer that you don’t really have a right to tell someone that they’re doing their makeup wrong because I mean- just because you don’t like it or don’t do it the same way doesn’t necessarily make it wrong- but she’s so sweet about it 😭✋🏻💜💜💜
The eyebrows are definitely better when further apart! They otherwise look pretty good though 😊

I think that the reason people think that there’s a cast when you apply highlighter is because you gravitate towards whiter highlights. Maybe try a warmer (not darker) one, especially when you’re self-tanned. Honestly, I think the way that people do their makeup is such a personal thing and everyone thinks that different things look good. I don’t think you’re ever doing anything ‘wrong’ 💕

Annoys me when people criticize others on their makeup skills. The whole purpose of makeup is to find your own skills, your own creative individuality and what feels good to oneself. The whole purpose of makeup is to have fun with it and use it as an individual creative outlet. You keep doing you. Your fabulous! Squash the negativity.❤️

If I'm being honest, the only tips I like were the nose contour, the eyeshadow brush holding and the lower lash line. Everything else I feel like she does it better normally especially her highlighter. I'm always raving about how amazing her highlighter looks on a normal day and how it sits so well on her face so think she looks much better doing makeup how she normally does but that's just my opinion.

Cakey face looks good on vids too. Because it smoothes everything out. Thats why everytime if u try to do the exact same make up look you look terrible irl. ( the ones who really slaps make up on).

Honestly Sophie, some of this things are true and your makeup did really look great at the end, but I also feel like some other things (like blush or primer) people just feels entitled to tell you you're doing it wrong because you always tell us how insecure you are when applying your makeup! some other youtubers and vloggers just say that's how they like it and keep doing it that way, you should always enjoy your makeup and the process of applying it so if you want to do tons of blush and tons of highlight just go for it and be assured about it, I personally think that's how it should always be and you always look fantastic

Soph I find with hooded eyes using small eyeshadow brushes rather than fluffier ones helps so much with placement

some of the tip are really helpful (like the contour, concealer), but some are really just personal preference.
for example I prefer my eyeshadow to not be crisp on the edges, I like it more blended on myself. like, maybe for a night out yes, but for daily makeup it looks too crisp for me.
and also, brows are totally a personal preference thing. I figured out for myself that I was bringing them in too much and it made them less natural. I'd say that going for the shape & size it has naturally is the best if you don't want to change the shape if your face too much :)
just wear your makeup however you like it and don't be afraid to experiment on saturday-sunday nights 🤗

There’s no right or wrong way to do makeup!! In my opinion, your makeup always looks flawless, you’ve definitely learnt a lot since you started UA-cam!

I would blame most of the “errors” in your eyeshadow on our eye shape, it never works out how you want it no matter how hard you try! I will try using the clean up technique next time I do my eyeshadow so this was very useful for me! Also side note I think your eyebrows look great the way you usually do them! If you ask a makeup artist they should be as far apart as you do them it has just become a trend to do them bigger and closer together but I think you suit the further apart brows amazing!☺️❤️❤️

the cream contour looked really good! also a tip for the glitter would be to put a glitter glue on top of the concealer you cut your crease with. Love you Soph xx

Tip:for the glitter falling down:when you do your glitter first put some powder under your eyes then do the glitter,when your done just wipe the powder away then the glitter goes along 🌟❤️✌️
Her eyes with the pink on them were so captivating and beautiful the pink really made the green/blue pop
I would recommend using a fan brush for your highlighter, it makes it more subtle and smooth, more natural
But off course it depends on your personal preferences❤

I wanted to comment that but she pretty much did it when she put concealer on the outer corners to clean up her eyeshadow. 🙂
There are some things which are personal taste such as how much you put on etc but your makeup at the end honestly looked so beautiful! Your eyebrows were definitely fluffier and I think having your contour and highlighter higher just lifted your face! Same with cleaning up the eye shadow - everything just looked so lifted! You have improved so much Over the years and all that is important is that you like your makeup - but as you asked at the end - your makeup looks beautiful! Xxx
When you use glitter you should do your eyeshadow before your face makeup then you can clean up the glitter off your face with a makeup wipe, your makeup is perfect💕
It is better to wipe it away with a bit of primer on a tissue or moisturizer. According to Robert Welsh this is a better method because make-up remover( wipe) can travel and your make up won't stick as well.
Or use powder to bake your concealer while you do eyeshadow, and then wipe it off after and it should take away any fall out with it!
Really admire you guys putting yourself out there on UA-cam where people feel they can say negative comments without repercussion. They wouldn't say it to your face. Filter out the negativity and concentrate on the positive 👍🏻

One thing I truly love about your videoes are how relateable you are, and that you never try to seem like an expert! Two small things tho: you should bring your lipliner further down on your lip as well as the edges. This makes it less stressful to colourmatch in my opinion. Also: i think your contour looks really nice when you use cream, however a little bit (light handed) powder bronzer doesn’t harm😊

I somehow prefer your way of doing makeup, especially the highlighter, it's just so you. Every time I accidentally put too much highlighter, it reminds me of you and I love it 🤍
sorry to be this person but a tip for your powder haha! I've always heard you say that loose powder is just for baking, it's not! Just use a tiny bit to set underneath your eyes. Don't use pressed powder under them because it's alot more heavy and can make your eyes look more crusty and creased.
I just want to say you can do your makeup however you want, it always looks good!

it's a good idea but i don't think she'd be comfortable doing that with Covid-19 on the rise again. she has really bad anxiety and I think filming herself getting her makeup done would make her uncomfortable

Hey Sophie! If you wanna eliminate fallout when your applying your glitter pigments, I’ve found that using your finger instead of a brush is helpful! It also make it more pigmented so you don’t need to use as much product

Tip: after I use an eyelash curler, I always brush through my eyelashes with a spoolie (idk how to spell it haha) and it makes them look longer (for me at least) ❤️

I do think the bronzer looks much better when you blended it up to your hairline, the gap was noticeable but the best part was your attitude about it, you were so sweet about the comments.

i absolutely love the fluffier brows on you (although maybe further apart like you usually would, like in your last video) !! the only other tip i have would be to do eyeshadow before your face makeup, to make it easier to get things neat (like no glitter/shadow fallout under the eyes, and easier to get the straight line) :) ❤️

Also For the glitter on the eye just put a cotten pad and shape it like a moon. Then stick it on a stick/pen/pencil and put it under the eye. Helps with fallout also if u do just use tape it helps with picking it up xxx😂❤️❤️❤️

I have vision issues and am v heavy handed and the best thing I've learnt for blush is using cream or liquid blush. You only need like the finest bit, and if you mess it up, you can dot on a tiny bit of foundation to lighten it without the fear of mixing powders with liquids. The Glossier ones are amazing !

I agree. I saw nothing wrong with how she normally had them (actually preferred them that way) other than the blocky front of the feathering did help. I think some were a bit too nitpicky but it was interesting to see her try them

Yeah I didn’t get that part, eyebrows (if you’re going with a more classic look - I know everyone likes certain ways to do their makeup) should be at your tear ducts which she does anyway that I’ve realised. I think it’s maybe just she has quite thick eyebrows but that might be how she prefers them.

I wanna give a little friendly tip too! When you're using a darker color for your crease or outer corners use a small fluffy brush. And also use that in the lower lash line 💜💘

Sure, everyone would LOVE to be a make-up artist, but some really don’t have the talent. I think Soph’s regular make up is so easy to follow, anyone can do it! 💛
