David Lynch does not have one ounce of egotism, he just wants everyone to be entertained. In saying that, he's definitely onto something. I rarely think about meeting famous people. David Lynch is another story. I would love to have a conversation with this man. Twin Peaks is amazing. Hope they make another season.
It's not that bad of an idea. He mentioned when he travels, which I imagine was quite frequent, he would depart from his regimen. That makes the new food even that more of a treat. I can see how this would be tolerable for some.
Best shot I've had at recreating it is to pull my hair back in a baseball hat and not wash it for three days then style it forward. Looks pretty good if you can hang with the grease
He also wears the same chic uniform (black suit and white shirt) and haircut/style which like his consistently same daily meals allow him to fuel all of his thoughts toward creative pursuits. Smart, and given his tremendous success, obviously works. By the way, Mullholland Drive is a riveting masterpiece.
David Lynch seems to have what a lot of other infps lack, balance. He understands his mind and process enough to develop routines that help him connect with his ideas more naturally in a fluid like way. I could take a few notes
This advice is so good, i have OCD. When you can control few important things, then you won't obsess about the lack of control of your mind as a whole. Also that food is super healthy and tasty, sounds like something a greek god would eat.
Routine like this has been something I’ve attempted to describe to people for years. With a solid, repetitious foundation your mind then can go off to many different places creatively. Believe it !
This is very simple yet profound. As an artist, whenever my daily routine gets chaotic, my house is a mess, I'm trying to figure out what I need to cook for dinner etc. It really disrupts my creative process, cause I'm always thinking about all this other stuff I need to take care of.
This is because being in an established routine takes less mental capacity than doing something new every moment of every day; leaving an individual's brain to need extra stimulation while accomplishing that task. Someone who is already predispositioned towards creativity, would find great use in making simple quick-to-plate meals to dedicate that extra stimulation to their creative process.
Healthy diet. I understand. He doesnt need to spend energy making creative descisions on what doesn't interest him if his basic routine is set. Not unusual for artist.
It's not junk food at all, but he's likely missing out on a few nutrients with that particular arrangement of foods. Understandable why he does it (i.e., one less thing to think about) but I wonder if he takes vitamin supplements along with it.
That's an interesting. I planned my everyday meals for 2 weeks (once) and i was so stress relieving. My mind and energy were able to focus on more important things for me.
My breakfast usually consists of the same thing he eats for lunch: tomatoes, tuna, ricotta, lemon juice and olive oil, along with some fresh coffee and toast. It’s delicious.
@@patrickbyrne5070 Broccoli is good yes, the rest meh. I don't know of any major upsides of eating such low nutritional food (rice, chicken, soy sauce) every single day. But it's still good :) The amounts listed as recommended daily are only for people who want all of their bodily functions working correctly etc
I love David’s movies. Mulholland Drive. Lost Highway. I have the same eating rituals as well. No breakfast, a salad wrap for lunch and chicken or steak with broccoli for dinner, this menu has been the same for years now. 🌟
I love when I hear my own thoughts echoed through somebody more prominent and as talented as David Lynch is.....I swear if the networks didn't fuck up Twin Peaks, it'd be the clear #1 show of all time. Sopranos is incredible thanks to its influence
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Everyday for dinner I have chicken, broccoli and rice with soy sauce. I cook enough to last 4 days every 4 days so my dinner costs less than £10 a week
The fact that the man is laughing at him at first because it's like he thinks it's just some stupid quirk then slowly begins to quieten down when he realises it is actually for a very valid and poignant reason is funny to me.
I like how he says it works for him instead of being like all the other famous people who claims their odd routines will work for everyone. some people are just full of themselfs. where as this guy is filled up with tuna :D
Yes! And for those of us who need more grounding because our brains are already in creative overdrive, variety acts as a grounding source. Sort of like how some people get calmer amongst chaos. Love that he specified “for some”, because that’s very true.
Mercury in fish is a hoax perpetrated by the elites to make ppl avoid fish bc fish is too good for ur health and they want u to die as fast as possible

This is very simple yet profound. As an artist, whenever my daily routine gets chaotic, my house is a mess, I'm trying to figure out what I need to cook for dinner etc. It really disrupts my creative process, cause I'm always thinking about all this other stuff I need to take care of.
This seems very freeing, not having to constantly prepare for and decide on a different meal.
I have the exact same breakfast every day and i love it.
Can you say what is your breakfast?
@@Chelvam-so4qh 2 eggs 2 sausage 1 slice toast black coffee
@@itsROMPERS... looks very interesting
@@Chelvam-so4qh it's not interesting, but it's nutritious and consistent, low calorie and carb, high protein.
Be intentional and holding steadfast to that is a key to success
Love David ❤
@@chrisjfox8715 I'd expect so.
That's an interesting. I planned my everyday meals for 2 weeks (once) and i was so stress relieving. My mind and energy were able to focus on more important things for me.
not unusual for many people. interviewer laughs as if he's hearing something crazy
@@chrisjfox8715He has much less to worry about than 90% of Americans.
David Lynch is a true Texan.
"very important, for me" he says.
Smart man.
I love how they both start giggling at the start, like David knows it's pretty weird but he's not insecure about it
Charlie Rose was such a good interviewer
I really resonate with this thinking, have some order so you can explore chaos
Bad diet and smoking are taking its toll. So grateful to have met him.
His diet sounds delicious actually. I'd add eggs and rice and coffee but that's beside the point lol!
I did not expect him to sound like that!
Hes so undiagnosed its unreal
A true American genius and legend.
My breakfast usually consists of the same thing he eats for lunch: tomatoes, tuna, ricotta, lemon juice and olive oil, along with some fresh coffee and toast. It’s delicious.
Mmm...thanks for sharing. I'm gonna try this!
Do you eat Tuna fish everyday, how long? I am concerned about mercury levels.
@@mehmeterdem742 about 3x a week. Maybe more when I have more money.
I don’t seem to have any signs of mercury poisoning.
I love that guy. He’s a genius.
And his version of Dune rocked, so there.
The tuna fish, feta and olive oil is the best 👌
Chicken n broccoli with rice and soy sauce is legit too.
@@patrickbyrne5070 Broccoli is good yes, the rest meh. I don't know of any major upsides of eating such low nutritional food (rice, chicken, soy sauce) every single day. But it's still good :)
The amounts listed as recommended daily are only for people who want all of their bodily functions working correctly etc
I love David’s movies. Mulholland Drive. Lost Highway. I have the same eating rituals as well. No breakfast, a salad wrap for lunch and chicken or steak with broccoli for dinner, this menu has been the same for years now. 🌟
*"We wouldn't eat it every day"* Interviewer there playing the old _inviting myself around to your house for dinner_ routine.
I love when I hear my own thoughts echoed through somebody more prominent and as talented as David Lynch is.....I swear if the networks didn't fuck up Twin Peaks, it'd be the clear #1 show of all time. Sopranos is incredible thanks to its influence
So he needs to be in a stable environment while creating unstable environments.
*to create unstable environments
@@extremelynormalperson you sound unstable. (Joking)
Wonder if this explains God…
caos in the mind, order in the room

I agree with this idea, that external order in ur life allows for more creative freedom inside ur mind
That's the secret sauce...Lynch runs on Mercury!
Bhhaha!
Wow! That was a good one.
Mercurial!
That is a much more tactful way of putting it than I did!
Maybe it's fresh.
@@escopetamartinez fresh fish has mercury levels...
This man is an international gem
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Everyday for dinner I have chicken, broccoli and rice with soy sauce. I cook enough to last 4 days every 4 days so my dinner costs less than £10 a week
Brilliant, Mr Lynch
Good habits are the best way to beat addictions.
David is a simple man with a very delusional and creative mind. I love him.
Shoutout to Steve Jobs wearing the same outfit everyday.
It really is uncanny how much set routines can free up your mind to think about other things.
what he said about habits/routines and then spring off from that is so god damn true
The fact that the man is laughing at him at first because it's like he thinks it's just some stupid quirk then slowly begins to quieten down when he realises it is actually for a very valid and poignant reason is funny to me.
i don't think hes quite literally laughing at him
Amazing how many creatives stick to simple things for routine. Like clothing or food- etc.
“For me” is the most important… Gotta find your own formula.
This is autism and it's amazing! This is why I don't force my kiddos to eat things they aren't comfortable with.
Your kiddos will thank you later in life!
This is why he’s a genius
If he doesn’t overdo it with the tomatoes, then this is a ketogenic diet… This man’s brain is running on ketones!!!
I love this man
As a writer, I see where Lynch is coming from but I crave change and feel like a broad breadth of experiences enhances my work from my perspective.
I miss the days when most people would say "tunafish."
Strong Irish hair and wit.❤
His mercury blood levels must be off the charts lol
Oh God, now you're all parroting this mercury things because of tuna, great...
Maybe it's fresh.
Mercury in fish is a hoax perpetrated by the elites to make ppl avoid fish bc fish is too good for ur health and they want u to die as fast as possible
Because you know exactly how he sources the tuna
absolute genius insight
Tuna makes for a brilliant director. Just look at Neil Breen.
Glad someone else was thinking it!
@@jhcoverdrive9287 How could one not? Tuna, two masters -- great minds, right?
