I was stuck to a certain level and was not able to finish the game. The hero wears red and he can throw spears and creates block to make bridges and stairways. (Damn, that was like 30years ago.)

But if we talking about little characters with triangle hat maybe you're looking for Krion Conquest or Fire and Ice (Solomons Key). Also check Fist of the North Star, it has character with color palette kinda like Raiden.

I remember, our only day of playing is on Saturdays for just an hour because our parents want us to focus on our studies. They want us to finish our assignments before playing video games or outside the house. Metal Gear and Battle City are my most favorites!
